He took his time going to the palace on foot. He wanted to see the world outside slowly. Naturally, he was using a cover to hide his appearance. Everyone here will easily recognise him, not for his good deeds of course.
Even though he wrote this world and even has a memory of it, he still needed to get used to a world similar to the medieval period.
There weren't many technological advances here yet; it was almost similar to a medieval fantasy world. However, he did add some things to make it easier for him to write.
A little example was a cafe. He added that to make it easier for date places.
He had no idea where people from the medieval period would go on a date, perhaps to the Colosseum?
Besides that, he also added some modern dresses. All for his convenience.
Now that he sees them all blended so comfortably, he does feel some happiness in that, even though that part might have been a plan of someone else, too.
