Chapter 149 - Chapter 149 — Final Shooting Wraps: Tears, Screams, Snacks

The final day arrived quietly.

No alarms.

No breaking rigs.

No one falling from the sky.

That alone made everyone nervous.

The Last Shot

It was a simple scene.

Too simple.

Aria walked into frame.

Stopped on her mark.

Looked up.

One line.

No movement.

No danger.

Mason stared at the monitor like it might betray him.

"…Action."

Aria delivered the line.

Perfectly.

Still.

Human.

Mason waited.

A beat.

Then another.

Nothing exploded.

No one screamed.

The world stayed intact.

He swallowed.

"…Cut."

Silence followed.

The longest silence of the entire production.

Then Mason's voice cracked.

"…That's a wrap."

The Explosion That Wasn't Planned

The set detonated anyway.

Cheers.

Shouts.

Applause that bordered on hysteria.

Someone screamed "WE SURVIVED!" like it was a war cry.

The stunt team hugged each other.

The wire crew applauded Aria like she'd just landed a plane.

Daniel cried openly.

"No one judge me," he sobbed.

"I thought she was going to die like eight times."

Julian laughed, relief written across his face.

"Only eight?"

Aria Blinks

Aria stood still as people surged around her.

She blinked.

"…Is this happiness?"

Daniel hugged her.

"Yes!

THIS is happiness!"

She absorbed this information calmly.

"…It is loud."

Mason Breaks Properly

Mason didn't yell.

Didn't panic.

Didn't lose hair.

He just stood there, hands shaking, eyes red.

Someone handed him a tissue.

He waved it away.

"…I kept you safe," he murmured.

Daniel heard him.

"You did."

Julian nodded.

"You really did."

Mason looked at Aria.

She met his gaze.

"…Thank you."

That did it.

He cried.

Tears, Everywhere

The makeup artist cried.

The PA cried.

One of the grips cried and didn't know why.

Aria watched it all with quiet fascination.

"…People leak," she observed.

Daniel laughed through tears.

"Emotionally, yes."

She nodded.

"…I understand."

The Snacks Appear (As Foretold)

Craft services rolled in like heroes.

Boxes opened.

Wrappers crinkled.

The smell of fried food hit the air.

Aria's attention snapped instantly.

"…Snacks."

Daniel handed her a plate without question.

"Earned."

She took a bite.

Her shoulders relaxed for the first time all day.

"…This concludes the mission," she said softly.

Julian nearly choked.

"She called it a mission."

The Final Photo

Someone yelled:

"GROUP PHOTO!"

People piled in.

Aria stood in the center without realizing it.

Mason ended up beside her.

Daniel leaned in.

Julian stood close—but not touching.

The camera flashed.

Aria held up a chicken wing in one hand.

"…Is this acceptable?"

The photographer laughed.

"Perfect."

The Quiet After

As the crowd thinned, Aria sat on an equipment case, chewing thoughtfully.

Julian joined her.

"You did it."

She nodded.

"Yes."

"…How do you feel?"

She thought carefully.

"…Full."

He laughed.

"That tracks."

Closing Beat

Mason raised a cup.

"Thank you," he said to the crew.

"To surviving.

To trusting each other."

He looked at Aria.

"And to her."

Everyone cheered again.

Aria raised her snack in return.

"…Thank you for not screaming too much."

Daniel wiped his eyes.

"LIES."

The lights dimmed.

The set emptied.

The battlefield became just a room again.

And for the first time since the fall—

Nothing more was required of her.
