"I'd like you to meet Chase Damon, Country Manager for the IBAA US."
"What?" Adam's eyes widened. Why was he suddenly meeting someone so important? He instinctively stood up, extending his hand. "Sir."
"Mr. Adam." Chase's handshake was firm. "Please, call me Chase. And thank you for agreeing to meet on short notice."
"That's… no problem at all."
They all sat down, and Chase didn't waste any time at all. After they were done introducing themselves, he immediately looked Adam in the eyes and said,
"I want to ask you about the Hospital."
Adam was slightly taken aback by the question. But like Chase, he didn't linger with the pleasantries.
"They're real," he said.
"I believe you." Chase leaned forward. "What did they do to you?"
"That…" Adam's jaw tightened. "It's… hazy. I escaped them twenty years ago, and my memories are jumbled. But the experiments… I can clearly remember how they experimented on me."
