These three were actually reasonable people. They had come to talk first.
If it had been Noxians or Demacians, a fight would probably have started without a word.
Karma looked toward Syndra. In her inherited memories, Syndra was an absolute extremist who refused all restraint. Yet now, after a few words from the man before her, Syndra stood quietly at his side.
Such obedience made Karma doubt her own memories.
The Syndra before her looked quiet and composed.
How could she possibly destroy Ionia?
Yes, dark power surged within her — but power itself wasn't good or evil. Lightning had once been seen as divine punishment, yet now mortals wielded it as a weapon.
What mattered was the heart of the one using it.
And in Karma's judgment, Xu Dan did not resemble a villain.
It was an instinctive closeness of creation toward its creator.
"If you can truly restrain Syndra, that is a blessing for the world," Karma said. "I invite you to come to Presidian. What do you think?"
Presidian lay at the heart of Ionia — the holiest place on the continent, where Ionian culture was most concentrated. Learning flourished there. Scholars traveled great distances to study; others came to meditate in the enchanted gardens.
It was a beautiful place.
It was also where Ionia first rose to resist Noxian invasion.
But Xu Dan declined.
"If possible, this friend of mine can go with you. As for me, I'll take Syndra to handle something important."
Tony blinked. "Wait — what am I going there for? What even is that place? Am I going to get secretly killed by these people?"
Xu Dan replied quietly, "Don't you want to change class? You'll have many options there. Level up, then come back and deal with those monsters that kept killing you."
"What about you?"
"Me? I'm taking Syndra to farm a dragon."

Game developers really were outrageous.
He entered the game and got killed nonstop.
Xu Dan entered and had a god-tier companion from the start — and now he was going dragon hunting.

As Tony was still in disbelief, Karma asked, "Will you come with me to Presidian?"
"Yes! Of course! Let's go!" Tony answered instinctively.
He regretted it instantly.
Before he could change his mind, a status effect bound him:
Follow Karma to Presidian.
As a beginner, he couldn't cancel it.
It felt like an invisible rope had tied him, pulling him southeast.
Watching Xu Dan fly farther away, Tony felt like a child watching his father leave home — powerless.
The Dragon's Nest
Legends said dragons often appeared in Ionia — especially along the coast.
Syndra's dark power lifted them into the sky. From above, Xu Dan could see farther.
The Ionian coastline teemed with magical sea creatures — not hideous beasts, but beautiful, fantastical life.
"Syndra, have you ever seen a view like this?" Xu Dan asked, pointing at the dreamlike ocean.
If such a place existed in reality, it would be a world-class tourist site.
Syndra remained cold and silent.
"Not talking?"
"Hmph."
Even a virtual character could have an attitude.
"Fine. Let's go straight to the dragon's nest. If there are eggs, we'll take one. If not, we'll tame a dragon."
No point forcing someone to admire scenery.
In this world, Syndra's power far exceeded a dragon's.
This wasn't game stats.
This was the true power written into her existence.
A dragon wouldn't be a problem.
