Tony forcefully wiped away imaginary tears. "I'm fine. Just tell me how to play this game. Once I level up, I'm wiping that snake species out."
"Well, that thing was level 7. As for—"
"As for nothing! Just tell me how to level!"
Xu Dan chuckled. "The game's pretty open. You can go the adventurer or mercenary route — fight monsters to level. You can join a faction and level through missions. Or, if you're determined enough, you can climb Mount Targon and pray to the celestial beings."
"I'll pick option two. Got any faction recommendations? Does that temple over there count?" Tony pointed toward the distant monastery in the east.
Xu Dan narrowed his eyes in that direction.
Something felt off.
This was only his second time logging into League of Legends, but he knew the geography extremely well — he designed the map.
That monastery was the Kinkou Order.
Normally, the Kinkou kept to themselves. Their current leader was rigid, obsessed with so-called balance.
But now—
A powerful presence was pressing toward them.
"Hmph. Annoying pests are here again," Syndra said coldly.
So she sensed it too.
Xu Dan already understood. Ever since he freed Syndra, it was inevitable that Ionian forces would come hunting. To many people, Syndra symbolized pure destructive power. Countless masters had died sealing her.
"Syndra, can you tell who it is?" Xu Dan asked.

Only Akali among the Kinkou would take the lead in such a confrontation. Karma was Ionia's spiritual leader. Kennen probably just came along.
"Bro… what's happening?" Tony whispered from behind Xu Dan. "Another boss lock?"
He truly didn't want to die again.
Xu Dan grinned. "Yep. Three hero-tier bosses. High intelligence. Mess up and we get wiped."
Tony's face turned pale.
"I'm logging out. I'm level zero — I'll just drag you down."
He opened the menu.
System prompt:You have been locked by rogue ninja Akali. Logout unavailable.
Tony: "..."
Tears.
The ninja trio had probably tracked Syndra's awakening last time, but missed their chance when Xu Dan logged off and she temporarily disappeared. Now they rushed over immediately.
"Syndra, don't act yet," Xu Dan ordered.
She had no choice but to obey.
Akali stared at them. The two men didn't concern her.
Syndra did.
How had she awakened?
Was this some Noxian scheme?
Unlike the aggressive Akali, Karma preferred dialogue.
"Young man, did you awaken Syndra?" she asked.
"It was me," Xu Dan replied casually. "She's my companion now. Problem?"
Karma's health bar was still green — no hostility yet.
But Akali cut in sharply. "You turned Syndra into a companion? Do you even understand how terrifying she is?"
Xu Dan looked at the petite ninja again.
Unlike many flashier fighters, Akali relied purely on relentless training. No divine inheritance, no thunder powers like Kennen. She carved her path through effort alone.
A true warrior forged by discipline.
