Chapter 110 - He had seen the Destroyer.

Thor stared into the distance.

He had seen the Destroyer.

"No—no! Loki! What the hell are you doing?!"

Thor roared toward the sky.

He understood the destructive power of the Destroyer better than anyone—better even than Loki.

If the Destroyer truly set out to annihilate a planet, it would only be a matter of time.

Fear.

Helplessness.

Asgard had always protected Earth.

And now—what was Loki doing?

This was slaughter.

What should he do?!

At that moment, a voice sounded.

"Let's go."

???

Thor turned back in disbelief.

At some point unknown to him, Xu Dan had already appeared at his side.

Behind Xu Dan stood the people he had met before—

Goenitz, Fire Dance, and Frost Wolf Ghost.

"What are you planning to do?" Thor suddenly realized something. "No—you can't go! This isn't some ordinary enemy! That's Asgard's Destroyer! You'll only be throwing your lives away!"

But Xu Dan merely glanced at Thor twice before leaping past him and charging straight toward the Destroyer.

The Destroyer was powerful.

At least, for Xu Dan in his current state, it was still powerful.

That steel giant was covered in mysterious metal—metal that Earth's current technology likely couldn't even smelt.

Let alone destroy.

What's more, the Destroyer possessed automatic self-repair capabilities.

"Goenitz—move!"

At Xu Dan's command, Goenitz instantly accelerated and rushed out of the formation.

As a wind-attribute close-combat mage, once the master issued an order, there was no hesitation.

As he advanced, he mobilized the power of wind. Wind energy wrapped around his body, making him feel lighter, faster, more agile.

With that sudden burst of speed, he leapt a full hundred meters!

Then his body abruptly shifted at a sharp angle to the right—an angle that would have left the scientific community utterly stunned.

"Boom!!"

A high-energy beam exploded precisely where he had just been.

Using wind control, he had predicted the Destroyer's attack trajectory.

After dodging the strike, he raised both hands.

With that motion, the wind surrounding the Destroyer went berserk.

A hurricane formed.

Supernatural power guided the wind—and in doing so, dragged the forces of nature along with it.

A chain reaction.

The hurricane rapidly grew into a massive vortex that connected heaven and earth!

Even the Destroyer—powerful as it was—was swept up in the violent tornado!

The scorching energy it had been gathering was forcibly interrupted.

"Whoooosh—!"

Amid the howling winds, a wolf's roar suddenly echoed.

The Frost Wolf Ghost's body expanded violently, transforming in an instant from a cub into a colossal wolf!

This giant wolf was even larger than the building-sized monster from before!

It was clear that after fully digesting Abomination's flesh and blood, its strength had risen yet again.

Suspended in midair, Goenitz heard the howl and flicked his wrist.

A precise current of wind carried the Frost Wolf Ghost forward!

...

Thor stared at the distant battlefield of thunder and lightning, utterly stunned.

At that moment, he felt less like a god of thunder—

And more like a powerless mortal.

The ones truly fighting were the real "gods of thunder."

He was supposed to protect the Nine Realms.

Yet now, he was the one being protected by Earthlings.

That lightning and thunder—

It was supposed to belong to him alone.

The sky-rending wolf howl.

The tornado piercing heaven and earth.

The figures standing like guardians of the planet.

When Xu Dan realized he would inevitably face the Destroyer, he had purchased new abilities from the points store to strengthen himself.

A large portion of them were powerful magic skills.

When those various abilities fused together, they underwent a qualitative transformation.

Magic possessed many attributes—fire, lightning, ice, and more.

Even attributes that normally conflicted were perfectly integrated within his body.

Thus was born his extraordinary mastery of magic.

If all magic in the world originated from the five fundamental elements—wind, thunder, water, fire, and earth—

Then Xu Dan had now mastered nearly all of it.

Thanks to his precise control, his lightning didn't even harm the Frost Wolf Ghost in the slightest.

Ice and flame alternated, steadily eroding the Destroyer's body.

...

Thor watched as his blood surged and his fists clenched tightly.

The inner turmoil nearly tore him apart.

Finally, he decided—

He would charge in and do something, anything, to help Xu Dan.

Even if he was powerless now.

Even if he was no better than a cripple.

Even if he died by accident.

This was a warrior's choice.

With that resolve—

Miles away, inside S.H.I.E.L.D.'s temporary base, Thor's hammer—untouched for a long time—began to tremble faintly.

Suddenly, Mjolnir, which had resisted all attempts at study, flew into the air!

Thor raised his hand, and Mjolnir returned to him of its own accord!

At that moment, he finally understood Odin's painstaking intentions.

Crack—!!

The lightning in the sky grew even denser and more violent.

Thor gripped Mjolnir and soared toward the heart of the storm!

But just as he was about to enter—

A blinding white light erupted at the storm's center!

Under that searing radiance, the storm gradually dissipated.

And the once god-of-war-like Destroyer—

Was shattered into countless fragments of metal!

Thor's heart sank.

He was still too late.

He had regained Mjolnir—

Yet contributed nothing.

The joy of its return was nearly nonexistent.

"Oh? You really managed to get Mjolnir back?"

Xu Dan's voice sounded from the center of the battlefield.

He held a strange sword in his hand.

Perhaps that blinding white light had come from the blade itself.

Thor finally realized—

The man who had been joking around with him all this time was hiding terrifying power.

At first, he had thought Xu Dan was merely a wealthy figure from Earth.

Now it was clear—

His mystery went far deeper.

"Xu Dan… you… if everyone has abilities like this, it really feels… hard to accept."

Xu Dan smiled, offering no reply.

When everyone is "ordinary," then no one stands out.

But now that no one is ordinary—

Why not adapt?

It wasn't strength that Thor couldn't adapt to.

Thor had always been Thor—whether he possessed power or not.

Xu Dan had always been human—he had merely concealed his power, until now.

What unsettled Thor—

Was his own sense of position.
