Chapter 70 - Chapter 69: The Devil’s Plan — The Shadow Palace Opens

Inside the palace hall.

"Your son is a rebel!"

The man's furious roar echoed through the chamber.

Langris, possessed by an elf, struck his cheap father with a single blow, nearly crippling him. If the old man hadn't used Space Magic to offset the fatal damage, he would've been reduced to pieces.

"What the hell is that Julius doing? How could he let someone like this in?"

The king stood up angrily, his immense magic power bursting out. Behind him, a massive figure of light and shadow formed.

"Light Magic: Holy King!"

That's it?

Langris smirked. What a pathetic display. A golden statue that couldn't even attack. With a wave of his hand, the light construct shattered into pieces.

"Stop it, Langris—cough… cough…"

Just as Langris was about to slice off the king's limbs, the frail and pale Finesse rushed forward, grabbing his right arm.

The king's niece—and the fiancée of the "Space Brothers."

"Get lost."

Langris threw Finesse aside and raised his hand to cut off her head.

"Hey, Langris from the Vaude family—don't you know how to treat a lady?"

Adam appeared in time, pulling Finesse toward him with telekinesis. Langris's Space Magic only left a gaping hole in the floor.

"One after another! Why do you all keep trying to stop me?"

Langris, possessed by the elf, roared furiously and launched a barrage of spatial slashes at Adam.

Adam's expression didn't change. He allowed the attacks to hit—unscathed.

"You—!"

Langris turned his attacks elsewhere, straight toward his adoptive father.

If I can't kill you, then I'll kill him instead!

"Ahhh!"

With a sickening tear, the father of the Space Brothers lost both his legs and part of his torso, collapsing in a bloody heap.

The young wife turned pale, trembling between fear and grim delight.

The king, horrified, shouted at Adam, "Save me! You devil—Adam!"

Adam caught sight of Yami and the others rushing in. Knowing the area was now secure, he pushed Finesse toward the door and used his telekinesis to fling the king out through a hole in the wall.

"Ahhh! What are you doing?!"

The king plummeted from the palace heights, screaming, as Adam followed after him.

Today, he was going to teach this duck-voiced monarch a real lesson—who the true "father of the nation" was.

"Hey! I'm not dead?"

When the king opened his eyes, he saw Adam floating nearby with a wicked grin. His face went pale.

"W-what are you going to do?"

"I'm going to train you. As the ruler of a kingdom, you can't be this useless. From today onward, I'll be your master."

The king blinked, utterly dumbfounded.

How dare this commoner—ahhh!

Adam lifted him high into the air, released his telekinesis, and let him fall—catching him again at the last moment. Over and over, the king did terrified trapeze spins through the air.

"Ahhh~ I accept! I accept you as my master!"

Clover Kingdom's King Augustus Kira Clover XIII was a coward to the core. He decided to play along—for now.

After all, no one else was around. Even if he had to call Adam "Father of the Nation," no one would ever know...

"What are you going to do next?"

Adam didn't drop him. He knew this slippery monarch too well to trust him.

His eyes turned cold. For a brief moment, he even considered killing him.

Now that the Wizard King was gone, all the rats and schemers would crawl out of hiding. The king was nothing more than a mascot—a flag. Alive or dead, it hardly mattered.

"Xiaoshui, report your situation."

Adam contacted his two Water Spirit Soldiers. One group was still rescuing people, while the other scouted the volcano region.

"I can't find it! I've hollowed out the whole mountain and still can't locate the golden box!"

Xiaoshui was still digging furiously. Adam's expression darkened.

This wasn't working. The only option left… was to remove the Sheep Talisman's power.

"Xiaoshui, return here."

Adam decided to take a gamble. He couldn't afford to lose—it was time to return to his real body.

Just then, as Xiaoshui rushed back, Sakke happened to arrive at the scene. Seeing the chaos, he immediately turned to leave.

"Come back!"

Adam caught him effortlessly with telekinesis. Now there was one more unlucky participant in this royal "training session."

"I didn't see anything! Just let me go!"

Sakke trembled, realizing he'd just witnessed regicide-in-progress.

"Don't worry, I won't eat you."

Ah…

Adam hadn't forgotten this little yellow-haired brat. He was going to let him enjoy the same aerial "disco" experience as the king.

The riot in the royal capital was nearing its end.

Noelle had awakened new magic and inherited her mother's title. The Sea Dragon's Dancer moved gracefully, defeating the enemy with elegance and power.

Her brothers and sisters could no longer deny it—this once "useless" sister had grown beyond them.

Nozel even claimed that his harsh treatment had been to protect her.

If Adam were there, he would've crushed another magic pill. That wasn't even human language!

Still, Adam wouldn't interfere in family matters. Blood ties were complicated.

Sweet little Noelle had endured so much—yet remained pure-hearted. Her past suffering only made her strength shine brighter.

Meanwhile, Mereoleona's team had also wrapped up their battles with fiery precision.

Just as peace began to return, another wave of elves surged toward the capital.

The Eye of the Midnight Sun's floating base appeared above the city, ready to activate the Shadow Palace.

At the same time, Nero was searching for Fuegoleon's old maid—the first attendant of the Wizard King 500 years ago—ready to "resurrect" that man.

The devil's grand plan was finally unfolding.

The reincarnation of the elves had always been just a piece of it.

Five hundred years ago, it was the Word Devil who had tried to seize Licht's body—causing the human massacre of the elves.

Licht was forced to turn himself into a Demon to stop the devil's plan. The First Wizard King sealed him away at the cost of his own life.

Rades, Vatos, and Sally found the Black Bulls and joined forces, determined to locate Licht and uncover the truth.

Using Space Magic, Vatos teleported the Bulls right outside the royal capital in an instant.

Asta and Yuno led the surviving mages toward the city, ready to assist.

With a thunderous boom, the top of the Floating Demon Palace activated.

A massive magic circle—identical to the Tree of Life stone tablet—glowed as beams of light shot skyward. The gigantic Shadow Palace emerged above the capital.

"Let's go!"

The elves rushed inside first.

"Xiaoshui, I'll leave these two to you."

Adam handed the white-faced king and Sakke to his loyal (and slightly insane) spirit. This training job was perfect for someone whose heart was even darker than his master's.

"Don't worry, I'll treat them very well."

Xiaoshui, now palm-sized, cracked a sinister smile. Sakke trembled—but also thought maybe he could take advantage once Adam left.

Big mistake.

"Hahaha! Put away those thoughts—Teacher Xiaoshui's class is about to begin!"

With a flick of his tiny hand, Xiaoshui conjured a water whip and countless glaring eyes.

The nightmare for the king and Sakke had begun.

"Those who achieve greatness must endure pressure ordinary men cannot bear! So, both of you—kiss me in front of me!"

"AHHH! Is that even human speech?!"

Well… Xiaoshui wasn't human.

He was a son of sea.
