Chapter 649: Meeting of the Two Dragons

The Dragon's Vengeance

Luke was also amazed by Clark's actions. Truly worthy of being Superman—only he could pull off a move like that.

In terms of fundamental attributes like pure strength, defense, and speed, Clark was the undisputed number one. Even Diana, Linda, J'onn, or the heroes possessing the powers of six Gods, like Black Adam and Shazam, fell short when compared to him.

The colossal dragon head slammed into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Diana quickly ran forward, plunging her sword into the dragon's neck. Gripping the hilt, she ran along its body, slicing upward. Blood gushed out, staining the ground a deep red.

J'onn followed close behind, slamming his foot down on the dragon's head.

Boom!

The ground shattered, sending up large chunks of debris.

Avogadro's size was truly immense; his head alone was as tall as a three-story building. To him, the heroes were truly like ants. But once these ants possessed power on his level, that massive body simply became a living target.

Avogadro let out a roar filled with vicious resentment, and a large area of black light overflowed from his body.

Omm!

The light exploded, and black ripples surged out, frantically washing over the surroundings.

Adam screamed in terror.

"Run! That's the Power of Death! It will devour our life force! Go! Get out of here first!"

The ripples swept in overwhelmingly. Clark and J'onn sensed the danger and retreated quickly. Even so, their bodies were brushed by the ripples and felt a distinct sense of discomfort.

Clark looked down at his right hand. His thick arm seemed to have shrunk slightly, and his skin was showing signs of aging, but life energy immediately surged in, restoring him to normal.

The Martian Manhunter wasn't as affected. His body had been genetically altered and wasn't a traditional body of flesh and blood, but a type of organic life formed by high-molecular polymers.

The instant the black light appeared, Luke rushed in front of Diana, raising his hand to block the shockwave.

The ripples continued for a full minute before dissipating. Avogadro scrambled up, a crackling sound emanating from inside his body. Driven by his life force, the wounds on his scales healed at a visible rate, returning to normal in moments.

"Humans, witness the power of the Underworld Dragon!"

ROAR!!!

Avogadro roared at the sky. The sound waves rolled out, forming a tangible, physical shockwave. A hurricane whipped across the land, the thin mist dispersed, and the dark clouds split open, revealing a sky black as ink.

Black lightning materialized in the air—one, two, three... more and more, swirling densely overhead, then gathering at the dragon's head like swallows returning to their nest.

A ball of energy wrapped in black lightning formed inside Avogadro's mouth. The aura of death emanating from it made their scalps tingle.

"Such terrifying energy."

The fluctuations within were powerful enough to destroy everything within a radius of dozens of kilometers.

As they watched, the energy ball fully formed. Avogadro swallowed it. Black lightning spread outward across his jaws, and the very space around him became distorted.

Luke realized what was coming and shouted,

"Get behind me! Hurry!"

Hearing his voice, Clark and J'onn rushed toward him, grabbing the stunned Adam along the way.

Luke returned to his six-armed giant form. All six hands simultaneously formed a spell. Green Flame surged out of his body, combining with his divinity to form a constantly twisting green light vortex.

The ground scraped by the vortex silently vanished, reverting to its original particle state.

Avogadro lowered his gaze, staring coldly at the "ants" below. Cruelty, excitement, and triumph shone in his contracted dragon pupils.

"Die, wretched Humans!"

Omm!

The sky shuddered, like the pause button pressed when spacetime is fractured.

A massive pillar of black lightning tore through space, striking down heavily onto the earth.

Even before it landed, the leaking energy pulses destroyed all the rocks within a kilometer radius. Facing the overwhelming black lightning, the heroes, encased in the green light vortex, were like a small dugout canoe in a stormy sea—the despair was unnerving.

Adam knelt, trembling.

"It's over, completely over! We're going to die!"

Clark and J'onn braced their bodies, ready to break out at any moment. Diana activated all the defensive systems of her Amazon armor. Luke's face was grim. He fully unleashed his Green Flame, making the vortex smaller, yet increasing its intensity tenfold.

Boom!

The light pillar struck the ground. Silently, the surrounding earth vanished. The ground shook violently, and only after several seconds did the earth-shattering explosion finally roar out.

A mushroom cloud rose from the ground. Black shockwaves spread out in all directions, and everything in their path was annihilated.

The God-Demon Battlefield experienced a violent tremor. The giant pit hundreds of miles away was also affected, and two tentacles reached out, watching the area in silence.

It took a long time before the trembling subsided and the area fell quiet.

A bottomless crater marked the ground. Hot steam billowed from within, and occasional serpentine black lightning flickered.

"No one dares to provoke the great Underworld Dragon."

"You were looking for death."

This single attack expelled all the rage Avogadro had suffered at the hands of the Tentacle Monster. He lifted his head. Despite his body's exhaustion, his mood was inexplicably cheerful.

"What a pity. I really wanted to capture you."

Avogadro shook his head, flapped his wings, and ascended into the sky. Suddenly, a unique energy wave reached him, causing a soul-searing pain.

A speck of green light appeared in the crater. The light expanded, and with a roar, an Eastern Dragon formed entirely of Green Flame burst out of the pit. The giant dragon surged in size against the wind, becoming even larger than the Underworld Dragon.

"You've angered me, you big lizard."

Luke merged with the dragon. The dragon body soared into the sky, then suddenly swooped down. Its foreclaws clamped onto Avogadro's head, and its body followed, wrapping tightly around the Dragon like a chain.

Losing balance, the two giant beasts crashed from the sky, wrestling violently on the ground.

Their power was absolutely terrifying; a casual strike could break mountains and shatter the earth.

Diana and the others, who had emerged from the crater, quickly retreated to the side, watching the giant beasts fight like wild animals with a sense of deep awe.

J'onn commented, "When we get back, I plan to write a novel and record our experiences in the Underworld."

"I was thinking the same thing," Clark replied blankly.

Diana sighed lightly. "It's not certain if we can even get back."

The atmosphere instantly grew silent.

After a moment, J'onn eased the awkwardness.

"Luke is truly angry. I've never seen him so violent."

Diana pouted irritably. "We nearly died just now."

Clark hesitated. "I don't understand why this dragon is bothering us. We didn't provoke it."

"Because we are from the mortal realm."

Diana said pointedly, "A War of the Gods once broke out on the God-Demon Battlefield. The Gods of the Human World were participants, and the Valley of No Return, the entrance to the mortal realm, is in the center of the God-Demon Battlefield. All the clues point in one direction."
