Chapter 139: Zhu Zhuyun's Heart Flutters—First Meeting with the Snow Emperor
Having witnessed the effects of the Immortal Herb how could Zhu Zhuyun remain unmoved?
Compared to the brutal competition within one's family and the royal family—one must endure the elusive position of empress.
The allure of Immortal Herbs and the possibility of breaking through to the Titled Douluo level was far more compelling.
Even if she became empress—as long as she didn't control the Martial Soul Fusion Skill—she could at most become Davis's vassal.
Moreover Davis—who would become emperor in the future—would definitely take concubines.
If she was assertive that's fine; she could control the harem.
But if Davis became assertive the imperial family would be ruthless—and she would become a complete tool.
Zhu Zhuyun lived in the Zhu family for a longer period and received more brainwashing education than Zhu Zhuqing.
But it was precisely because she had been exposed to more things that she could see more clearly what she would face and know what she wanted.
Compared to Zhu Zhuqing she pursued more things: power—strength—and family ties—she wanted them all.
She was very interested in Zhu Zhuqing's suggestion.
"Zhuqing—are you telling the truth?" Zhu Zhuyun asked excitedly.
Zhu Zhuqing nodded. "Sister—I've told you the whole plan—don't you still trust me?"
'Yes—my sister even said such rebellious things to me.'
'If I tell Davis what she said the royal family will probably investigate my sister immediately!' Zhu Zhuyun thought to herself.
Zhu Zhuqing handed over all her secrets to Zhu Zhuyun—and Zhu Zhuyun felt her sister's trust.
The gloom in Zhu Zhuyun's heart from her sister's deception was swept away; now she was only afraid that her sister's plan would fail.
"Zhu Qing—thank you. I believe in you. If Dai Mubai can defeat Davis—I will do my best to assist you!"
After saying that Zhu Zhuyun stepped forward and hugged her younger sister tightly.
Compared to Zhu Zhuqing's aloofness Zhu Zhuyun's body was somewhat fiery—but Zhu Zhuqing felt a different kind of warmth.
Because the future of the Zhu family might be about to change!
After leaving Zhu Zhuyun's house Zhu Zhuqing told Qi Tian about their conversation.
Qi Tian did not let his guard down. He found Ling Yuan Douluo and asked her to keep an eye on Zhu Zhuyun.
Although the two were sisters Qi Tian was not so careless as to completely trust Zhu Zhuyun.
If things were exposed Qi Tian would be able to protect himself—but it would ruin Bibi Dong's plans.
In order to avoid causing Zhu Zhuqing any resentment he would play the villain.
...
A few days later in the heart of the far north deep within the ice plains.
Qi Tian possessed the Ice Emperor for the second time. She had just emerged from seclusion after absorbing the energy of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm.
Her cultivation level had also broken through to 400,000 years—and her fourth tribulation would arrive no later than 1,000 years from now.
However after absorbing the vital energy of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm the Ice Emperor felt confident that she could now survive the 400,000-year Heavenly Tribulation.
At midnight she suddenly felt that her body was out of control again.
"Damn it—another human skill?" Hyotei was somewhat alarmed.
She had now become a 400,000-year-old soul beast—yet she was still controlled by this human. This human seemed a bit too terrifying didn't he?
Soon after she felt herself transformed into a human—and she even placed her hands on her chest and squeezed them.
"Qi Tian—what are you doing?" Ice Emperor roared.
Although she was a soul beast she possessed a bloodline inheritance and was well aware of what that place meant to humans.
The Snow Empress hadn't even touched any of the places in the capital yet—but Qi Tian had touched them all in the past few days—which angered the Ice Emperor.
"I'm used to it. So you were awake?" Qi Tian said a little embarrassed.
"What habit? You're clearly trying to take advantage of me!" Hyotei accused.
Qi Tian lowered his hand and did not continue to argue with her about the matter—after all he was in the wrong.
"You—as the King of Soul Beasts—live in this place?" Qi Tian asked looking around at the surrounding environment.
Everything around was a vast expanse of white—without a single house in sight.
In Qi Tian's imagination Ice Emperor—as the king of soul beasts—should at least have a place to live—even if she didn't have a luxurious ice crystal palace.
"I don't live here" Hyotei explained to Qi Tian her attention diverted.
As a scorpion her natural habitat was a cave in a glacier.
Ice Emperor cursed Qi Tian for his ignorance in her heart and said "I'm going to find Snow Empress now. Give me back control of your body!"
After the last possession she already knew that Qi Tian's skill could last for a day.
However on this day Qi Tian could return control of her body to her.
She was going to see her beloved Xue Di and did not want to hand her body over to Qi Tian.
"To see the Snow Emperor? Great! Now show me the way!"
Qi Tian's eyes lit up. His mission was progressing so quickly. Was he finally about to reach the next mission objective?
"No—give me back my body right now!" Hyotei said.
She was an Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion—not a Azure Bull Python. She didn't have a bull's head—and she couldn't say "yes".
Unlike the Azure Bull Python it could watch its beloved Xiao Wu fall in love with a human and ultimately sacrifice herself to that human.
All one could say was that the Azure Bull Python was the ultimate minotaur.
"Why not? I'm using your body right now—and I have a way to make the Snow Empress reciprocate your feelings!" Qi Tian said.
When Hyotei heard Qi Tian reveal his true thoughts she suddenly felt somewhat at a loss.
But compared to making Xue Di fall in love with her everything else was not a problem and could be ignored by her.
"What are you saying? Are you telling the truth?" Hyotei asked.
"Of course it's true. I'm human—and I have more experience in love than you soul beasts!" Qi Tian said.
Ice Empress thought about it and realised that it was indeed the case; as a soul beast she simply did not have that ability.
She had lived for hundreds of thousands of years—but her wisdom and emotions had also developed gradually. Without seeing or experiencing them there was naturally no way to learn them.
"Okay—I'll show you the way!" Hyotei's tone softened considerably.
Qi Tian followed the road pointed out by the Ice Emperor and headed towards another place in the core area of the far north.
She lived not far from Xue Di—and Qi Tian asked her about the progress between her and Xue Di as they travelled.
But Qi Tian didn't expect Bing Di to be so useless—and that she and Xue Di only developed a friendship.
Moreover because Xue Di was too cold-hearted the two rarely communicated—and Bing Di's feelings for Xue Di were more of admiration than love.
Before long Qi Tian arrived at the place where Xue Di was.
"Look—the Snow Empress is right there!" the Ice Empress exclaimed excitedly.
Qi Tian looked in the direction the Ice Emperor pointed and indeed saw the Snow Empress standing alone amidst the ice and snow—like a goddess.
Xue Di's long white hair hung down to her feet—and her sky-blue eyes were clear and bright—as if they could see through everything in the world.
Her slender delicate figure was flawless—and her white dress—though unadorned—made her appear so noble and stunningly beautiful.
Her aloof appearance was perfectly suited to this icy and snowy landscape—but it was completely out of place with the mortal world that Qi Tian had ever seen.
Snow Empress was so otherworldly—like a goddess who didn't eat the food of mortals.
But Qi Tian knew that the Snow Empress was just too lonely—and the Ice Emperor—this soul beast—didn't have much humanity—so it was impossible to win over the Snow Empress.
