Such changes would be unpredictable — potentially warping his past self's mindset, plans, and everything that followed.
That would inevitably affect the future and change him in the present timeline.
So he could only use his consciousness to possess his past self.
Anyway, he would erase his own memory later, and wipe the memories of everyone involved.
Franklin had seized upon that loophole, which was why he could appear so brazenly and openly.
But his recklessness ran straight into an unpredictable factor: the Phoenix Force could travel through any timeline.
It was not constrained by time or space; no law applied to it. Let alone a mere timeline — what if it launched attacks across Universes?
When Leo advanced further in the future and became the White Phoenix of the Crown, calling upon Phoenix Force from other Universes would be a simple nod.
At that moment Franklin's consciousness was directly interrupted; he had to act personally.
It wasn't that he hadn't considered going to other timelines, but he quickly gave up.
The further into the future he went, the stronger Leo became.
When he grew old?
Don't be ridiculous — such a god wouldn't age. Even if the Universe was destroyed, he would remain unharmed.
Even if Franklin accepted the most terrifying karma, he dared not hesitate. If he didn't act, he might be erased.
He walked out of the void step by step, his terrifying aura scattering the dark clouds; space began to crack and tremble with fissures.
"Originally, I really didn't want to do this, but other methods simply don't work…" Franklin said calmly.
By now his heart had turned still as water — next, Leo would die.
"Reality Modification — Life Eradication!!"
"I, Franklin Richards, declare: there is no longer Leo in this World!"
His voice, majestic as a god's, enveloped every trace of Leo across the Universe like a law.
Golden Reality Law power surged from Franklin's body, draining his life-energy in the blink of an eye.
Leo was late-stage single-Universe level; conceptual-erasing such an existence would cost a fortune.
Franklin didn't know the exact price either, but he was prepared to pay — even if it consumed most of his life.
Reality Law was brutally effective.
Multiverse-level Reality fluctuations instantly began to affect everything about Leo across all time.
Slowly, people started to forget Leo existed.
Passersby and those who'd only heard his name were first to forget. Then Coulson, Fury, Barton, and others faded from memory.
Next came those with deeper ties — Tony, Magneto, and so on. Only Steve and Mephisto, far away in the Hell Dimension, remained unaffected.
Traces of his existence — IDs, company records — vanished like Time Reversal, little by little.
Then Natasha, Android 18, and Crystal — those most deeply connected to him — began to lose their memories.
Their recollections started draining as if Leo had never been in their lives.
"No!! Who is it!! Who is it!"
"I don't want to forget! I don't want to forget!"
The women roared in pain. They had known Leo had been missing for a week and hadn't taken it seriously; how could anything happen to their husband?
But now their husband seemed to be leaving them. Something had happened. Something terrible.
Fortunately, their mental power and the depth of their bonds with Leo ran very deep.
The Reality Rule's spread was too thin to immediately sever those connections, and they clung on.
Even Multiverse-level Reality Law, even across timelines, was diffuse. But the attempt enraged supreme powers — Chaos Magic and the Phoenix Force.
A mere Multiverse-level force had dared to challenge them, to try to erase their master's thoughts and memories. That was a mortal daring to affront divinity.
"Ah!!!"
Wanda screamed in pain, losing control. Her eyes turned scarlet; her hair whipped wildly.
The blood-red energy around her flared, shredding the sky.
A scarlet beam dozens of kilometers wide smashed through the movie-Universe's time barrier.
Scarlet Witch had awakened.
"I want you dead!! Franklin!!"
"Dare to provoke Chaos Magic? With just you?"
"Chaos Magic will pronounce your death!"
Wanda was not herself — she had been temporarily possessed by instinctive Chaos Magic.
At the same time, young Jean Grey's body ignited. A golden Phoenix rose; burning flames incinerated space and time.
The Phoenix Force answered, pulling Phoenix power from a dozen nearby Universes. Time? Space? Before the raging Phoenix, none of it resisted — everything burned to ash.
Jean's mental outrage at the attempt to destroy their happiness pushed her beyond levels she'd never known.
White Phoenix of the Crown Jean Grey had joined the fight.
Across the timelines, Leo in the past felt himself slowly being erased from people's memories. He didn't panic.
"Want to erase my existence?" he thought. "You don't even know what Universe I come from."
He smiled at the fragile Franklin.
If Franklin erased everyone, as long as Leo killed him and devoured everything about him, things would return.
Leo saw the opportunity — Franklin had overreached.
The Phoenix Force integrated with Leo sensed kin and answered with a soft cry.
Jean Grey crossed timelines instantly, followed closely by Wanda.
"Franklin?"
"Franklin?"
The two women spoke in unison, cold as winter, eyes fixed on the stunned mutant as though he were already dead.
"You actually didn't die? Why didn't you die?"
"Impossible! Impossible!"
"You're only single-Universe level, and I wield Multiverse-level Reality power!"
"Why! Why!!"
Franklin didn't look at them; he screamed hysterically at Leo.
"All right, I'll tell you why," Leo said.
"Because I don't belong to the Marvel Universe at all! Hahaha! You think you can attack me across a Grand Universe? What a ridiculous joke! Now you can die in peace."
He laughed wildly — who could punish him now? His existence was tacitly approved by OAA.
Boldness surged through him.
After speaking he gave Franklin no time to breathe.
"Phoenix Judgment!!"
"Phoenix Judgment!!"
"Matter Decomposition!!"
