Chapter 89 - Chapter 88: The Shock of the Bosses, Earth Transformed

The Ancient One, who had just returned to Kamar-Taj, instantly sensed something wrong — the very fabric of Earth's space had solidified.

If before she could tear through dimensions with a single serious strike, now she would have to go all out.

Even her spatial teleportation required far more energy. The same distance now consumed five or six times more magic than usual.

"Alas… I don't know if this is a blessing or a curse," she murmured softly.

"This solidified space seems to isolate Earth from the rest of the Universe."

She sighed. "I just hope the one responsible is a good person. If he ever decided to rule this Universe, who could possibly stop him?"

Still, for the Sorcerer Supreme, this change brought more benefits than drawbacks — especially when facing beings like Dormammu or Mephisto.

Meanwhile, in the Dark Dimension, Dormammu was abruptly awakened from his slumber.

He instantly noticed that Earth's spatial barrier — the one he had always kept an eye on — had become unusually solid.

"F***! What the hell happened? Did the Infinite One make a move? No, that's impossible — why would she care about a small planet like Earth?!"

Dormammu, once a being from Earth, had always been obsessed with devouring it.

He wasn't alone — many ancient entities shared that same twisted fixation.

But why? What was it about Earth that made every dimension's villain drool over it?

Was it the center of all realms? Dormammu didn't understand.

Now, if he wanted to invade Earth again, the energy required would be astronomical.

"Damn it all!"

In the Hell Dimension, Mephisto was equally furious.

His true body couldn't even approach Earth anymore; the barrier had grown too strong.

Unless he rallied several other dimensional demon gods for a coordinated strike, there was no chance of breaching it.

"Alas, even if I get the San Venganza Contract, I still can't enter Earth! F***! F***!" he roared.

"Who the hell did this?! This isn't giving us a way to live!"

Inside an ancient castle in England, one of Mephisto's avatars — an old man in noble attire leaning on a cane — raged and smashed priceless antiques.

He'd spent centuries plotting, collecting souls, manipulating events — all to one day open a gate between Hell and Earth.

Now, his millennium-long plan was shattered overnight. His fury could drown the Pacific.

Far away in Asgard, Odin also sensed it — Midgard, the Earth, had suddenly become more distant, almost beyond their divine reach.

"What's going on?" he muttered, frowning.

"How did Earth's space suddenly stabilize like this? Did the Ancient One ask the Infinite One to intervene?"

"Is she planning to leave?" He shook his head. "No… that can't be."

As long as the Ancient One guarded Earth, no petty villain dared set foot there.

Even Odin himself, the All-Father, would rather not cross her.

He knew — if they ever fought to the death, she might not die… but he definitely would.

If this were the Odin of his youth, perhaps she wouldn't be his match.

But now, his strength was fading, and he often relied on the Odinsleep just to survive.

The dream of uniting the Nine Realms seemed more distant than ever.

He could only place his hopes on his son — Thor.

But Thor, at this stage, was still just a muscle-brained brute. Not exactly the sharpest hammer in the shed.

Across the world, every being with spatial abilities felt the shift.

Teleportation ranges shortened.

Energy costs spiked.

Spatial attacks weakened.

Even transporting others became harder.

And the one responsible for this planetary upheaval?

Leo.

Back at his villa, Leo stretched lazily on the couch.

"System, extract."

[Ding! Plot mission target detected — Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One.

Would the host like to extract her abilities and items? Each extraction costs one million points.]

"Extract."

[Ding! One million points deducted.

Beginning random ability extraction… Please wait, host.]

A holographic slot machine appeared before Leo, spinning wildly.

Names of powerful magic flashed past — Invisibility, Astral Projection, Soul Projection, Telekinesis, Instant Movement, Cross-Dimensional Teleportation, Remote Summoning, Telepathy, Mirror Dimension, and countless others.

Then—

Biu! Biu! Biu!

The cursor slowed and landed on — Telekinesis.

[Ding! Congratulations, host. You have obtained Telekinesis. Would you like to fuse now?]

"Fuse."

[Ding! Beginning fusion… Please wait, host.]

Five minutes later—

[Ding! Fusion complete. Please check it yourself, host.]

Leo grinned. "Telekinesis, huh? Now that's a damn good pull."

It was a versatile power — attack, defense, flight, utility — a perfect all-rounder.

One million points well spent.

Of course, coming from the Ancient One, this wasn't just any telekinesis.

Hers was top-tier, far beyond what others could achieve.

Feeling satisfied, Leo left the underground chamber and headed upstairs to check on Jean Grey.

The girl's emotions had been unstable since fully awakening her powers — a mental imbalance that was common among mutants.

Whether through extreme self-confidence or deep self-loathing, many lost control in those first chaotic days.

Jean clearly belonged to the latter.
