After what seemed like an hour, the doctor informed Ariana that her body has been going through extreme stress both physically and mentally for a long period of time now and unfortunately how her body responds to that was severe headaches and fainting.
The doctor asked if she had experienced any traumatic event. "I don't think I've had any" she answered and the doctor was quiet for a while before saying "Well from the tests we did it shows that you may have experienced such but if you said you haven't then no problem. We'd give you some medicines to help with the headache and some that would help you not to pass out again and give you strength but you also need to help yourself by avoiding stress or any mental or physical strain okay?". "Okay" she responded.
As the doctor left her point of view, she saw the nurses walk in to give her the medicines and advised that if her symptoms persists, she should return to the hospital.
Earlier, she was given a drug to boost her strength and also was given a pain relief so she was better. She carefully took the bag of medicines and was in search of her purse when one of the nurses notified her that it with was with the man who brought her in.
"Okay. Thank you" she walked out of the room and immediately saw Azaiah standing next to the door with her nurse in hand.
She was short of words for a moment as they both stared at each other. "Do you feel better?" She heard him ask and she nodded politely.
"Let's go" he reached for her hand and she moved away from his reach subconsciously.
"I need to pay the bill" she said pointing at her purse in his hand which she knew he probably took while she was brought into the room.
"He has paid already miss" the nurse who had spoken to her earlier said as she was passing by.
Ariana's mouth formed an "Oh" in realization.
"Can we go now?" Azaiah offered his hand once again.
Ariana didn't accept his hand but decided to walk behind him instead.
Reaching the parking lot, Azaiah was heading towards his car. "If I go with you, who'd take my car out of here? I can go on my own you know" Ariana stated.
"You can't drive in this state. Someone will do it" he answered without turning to look at her.
"Who?" She turned to him, blinking her bright blue eyes which had a tint of green in it.
Azaiah tapped on the tinted passenger window of his car and it was slid down by a young man who was in the driver's seat.
Azaiah handed her purse back to her "Your key".
Ariana carefully opened her purse and got out her car key before handing it to Azaiah who took the purse from her once again. Azaiah tossed the key to the driver who was still in his car.
"I'd need you to drive the lady's car. Follow us behind" he said and the young man got down from the car before handing Azaiah his car key.
"It's that one right there. Thank you so much" Ariana said to the man while pointing at her car.
"Shall we?" Azaiah said opening the passenger's seat for her to get in. Ariana found it harder to believe the rumor Yvonne had told her because the man was a gentleman though she was still trying her best to be careful around him.
She entered the car and he carefully shut the door before walking to the driver's seat and driving out of the hospital.
Silence reigned between them both for a while before Ariana spoke "Thank you for helping me out. I really appreciate it. I'd find a way to repay your kindness".
A displeased expression painted Azaiah's face. "You have a problem with accepting genuine help?" He turned to her. He was teasing but he didn't expect the answer she gave him.
" I was brought up to be independent, I'm sorry but I'm not used to accepting help" she honestly said.
A mischievous grin appeared on Azaiah's face as a thought crossed his mind.
"Well if you want to pay me back, you can just add it to the outstanding debt you put on yourself and pay me together" he explained.
"And what do you want in return? Thought about it finally?" She turned to see him smirking.
"No" he replied.
"Where do you live?" He asked and Ariana remembered how she was supposed to replace her father's toothbrush since the hospital had to run a test using his usual one and she couldn't take it back home anymore that same day.
At the same time, returning to her home was that last thing she wanted and if she was seen with a man who wasn't Rodrigo it would cause problems. There were already enough scandals online and cold shoulders from her parents.
Ariana inwardly decided to let the toothbrush be. Her father would most likely get a new one so she decided not to bother much about it.
"Uhmm...Maison estate. It's not so far from here" she mentioned Yvonne's address instead.
Azaiah knew where the estate was and drove towards it. Getting there he met the security guards who let them in after seeing Ariana who wasn't new to them.
Turning to her, he asked "What block exactly?".
"That one there" she pointed.
Parking in front of the house, he got down and opened the car door for her before handing her the purse which he had kept at the back seat.
She reached for her phone and told Yvonne she was at the door. But Azaiah didn't leave.
"You can go now. Thank you" she said trying to get him and his driver who had now parked her car at the back of his to leave before Yvonne comes out.
"When you get in, I'd leave" he said crossing his arms as the midday sun casted a shine to his caramel skin making it hard not to appreciate how good looking the man was.
Ariana bit her lips knowing it was pointless to banter with him. Yvonne came out after some seconds and the girl didn't hide her amusement.
She was surprised to see Azaiah in front of her house with her best friend. Two people she once believe hated themselves were now standing side by side, one looking unfazed and the other looking exasperated.
"Hey girl. Are you good? You don't look okay" she walked up to Ariana before glancing at the hospital bag that contained Ariana's medicines.
"Long story. We'd talk later" Ariana said to Yvonne before turning towards Azaiah "You can go now, thanks for the ride and thanks for dropping my car off".
"A pleasure" he said before glancing at Yvonne who looked confused about what to feel with his presence.
"Nice to see you Azaiah." She said and his lips lifted in a smirk "Likewise Yvonne".
He remembered the girl from highschool also.
Ariana was handed her car keys and liked he had said, Azaiah didn't leave till she had walked into the house.
