Chapter 440 - Chapter 408: The Hunted Few

In the past, soldiers knew the rule of using C4 when unsure, but for the Justice League, their rule is using the Speed Force when unsure.

If Barry succeeds, the matter will naturally be resolved.

If not, then after The Flash sacrifices himself, things will also be stabilized.

Barry dragged Deathstroke into the Speed Force, and the golden arcs of electricity flowed over them as they entered the Bullet Time Domain.

"You seem to have gained weight?"

Now that time was suddenly ample, Barry had the leisure to chat.

He had long noticed that after Deathstroke popped out from who knows where, his weight seemed to have changed significantly.

Gaining weight was inevitable; although the symbiote could merge into Su Ming's body, the symbiote itself also had weight. And with the Divine Gold Gauss Gun and its ammo...

Barry should be nearing his weight limit now.

"Oh, did you see the big gun on my back? It's new equipment from the Fire God, and it's probably due to its weight."

"Is that so..." Barry scratched his head, as if he understood and moved on from the topic: "I'm not quite sure what's going on with you, but it doesn't seem good."

Of course, the situation wasn't good. Kushina losing to Hecate was just a matter of time, and once Diana dealt with Zha Kang and the others and lent a hand, the battle would be over.

"The issue with Diana is like this..." Su Ming roughly explained the situation of the Witch's Hour and shared his guess: "So once we control Diana, you send her to the Justice League's Static Prison, or maybe consider Krypton's Phantom Zone?"

"Uh... it's easy to get into the Phantom Zone, but it's basically impossible to get out. It's best not to send Diana in there." Barry nearly tripped; who would send their comrade into the Phantom Zone?

"Just saying, the Justice League Prison will do, make sure to keep a close watch on her."

Su Ming reiterated, Diana escaping from Hell disrupted his plan.

He didn't bring Donna over to see her mimicry show, but to set a trap for Hecate to fall into.

Yet Diana surfaced and was tricked by Circe to rush into Hecate's arms...

But oh well, since Hecate herself appeared, as long as Su Ming cooperates with Barry, they should be able to resolve it.

The Justice League Prison employs a low-temperature flash-freeze preservation method, generally used for handling highly dangerous criminals.

For those who aren't that dangerous, Batman mostly did them a favor by sending them to the Celestial Eye Association.

One always needs to offer some benefits to the government so the Justice League can gain greater benefits; this is the way of coexistence.

Batman knows this well, neither any organization nor individual can shoulder all responsibilities and retrieve all benefits.

Whether good or bad, you must share with others, have them bear the same responsibility and face the same dangers, sharing some of the benefits.

This is the cornerstone of stability between various organizations.

Batman, when necessary, can also double as a businessman and politician, it's just that with the current situation of the Dark Justice League, the Mages aren't buying his usual methods.

Casters don't value the powers of superheroes; they can solve problems just by speaking without needing the Justice League.

However, things are different now; the Warlocks are now like invalids.

The superheroes they used to look down on now seem unattainable.

...........

Rewind time a little, Constantine and Zatanna were hiding behind a broken wall in the garden, and Swamp Thing had turned into a large thicket, shielding their traces.

Diana, full of purple light, was searching for them in the distance.

"Looks like today is my day to die." Constantine peeked out from the thicket to take a look, then sat back down in a state of dismay.

Controlled Diana had tightly sealed the air, with an excellent view from above, they would be spotted immediately upon moving.

"Shut up, you damn dogshit, why did I end up working with you again?"

Zatanna cursed under her breath, feeling exasperated. After leaving the manor, she encountered some strange things, like being lectured by her father's undead, then she found Swamp Thing, only to have Constantine, the stubborn gum, show up again.

In the few words exchanged amongst the three, Zha Kang's annoying mouth caused Zatanna to lose her cool and she attempted to cast a small spell to teach him a lesson.

However, things turned out differently, her Antithesis Magic was the one most closely connected to the Inverted Man.

She unwittingly opened the door again, and the Inverted Man descended.

Near the Tree of Miracles, the trio battled with the Inverted Man, even with Swamp Thing and Constantine, the dark magic itself inflicted deep wounds on them.

Swamp Thing was burned to black ashes, and Constantine had every drop of Demon's Blood withdrawn from his body.

Ultimately, it was Zatanna and Constantine's combined effort that once again deceived the Inverted Man and sealed him back behind the door.

Swamp Thing needed time to recover natural energy, while Constantine's body was teetering on collapse, and the Dead appeared seeking their help, asking them to participate in the dispute of the goddesses in Shangri-La.

Constantine initially refused, as the Dead's request to help offered no benefits, only drawbacks.

He knew well what the outcomes of intervening in a God War were.

But since Swamp Thing and Zatanna insisted on helping, even if Constantine was unwilling, he had no choice but to go along.

And now they found themselves hunted by the frenzied Diana.

The Witch's Engraving gave Diana immense magic power, and combined with her formidable equipment, she became a super soldier that any mage would dread encountering.

Constantine rolled up a sleeve, showing Zatanna: "I've made ample preparations; my trench coat is covered with magic runes you wouldn't even think of, but now, they're all useless. Hecate is altering the world, twisting our magic from its foundation."

Zatanna gave him a sideways glance: "You're the Hell Detective, stop saying such demoralizing things. Xiaodai will be leaving soon."

"Cough, cough..." Constantine coughed up blood and wiped the corners of his mouth: "I may have a few spells that still work, but my body can't take it anymore. Last time when I was nearing death, Satan injected Demon's Blood into my heart, keeping me at the verge of death, but now..."

He leaned against a broken pillar, wiping his hands clean on it.

The Inverted Man drained the Demon's Blood that had been sustaining Zha Kang's life, and now, his terminal lung cancer would soon claim his life.

Seeing him cough blood, Zatanna panicked a little, supporting his shoulders as she looked at the blood trail on the ground.

"No, you can't die, we still have a way."

Constantine smirked bitterly, drawing a cigarette from the pack and holding it in his mouth: "I've tried, but whether it's God or Satan, or those angels and demons who used to seek me out, they're not responding to me now, at a time when the world needs heroes most, yet I will die in a bush."

"Slap!" Zatanna gave him a sound slap, hitting him with a string of curse words, causing Constantine's head to spin.

He never knew Little Zha could curse like this, and he felt oddly invigorated, as if he was alive again.
