Albella looked to the left, then to the right, and the Angel before her had been neatly split into two halves.
She believed that if they put these halves on a balance scale, they'd weigh nearly the same.
"Alright, with that sword strike, I just came up with a new joke about Angels." She lit a cigarette, a smug expression on her face, as if confident in her joke.
Bo Bo rolled his eyes in annoyance: "You might want to look up—we've got a swarm of little bees on us after killing that Angel."
"Hmm... How did you know my joke had something to do with 'swarms'?" Albella feigned shock, picking up the Gorilla and holding it in her arms: "Great minds think alike, huh?"
The Gorilla sighed: "Have you been learning Chinese lately? And need I remind you, we're not exactly heroes."
"That's true... Deathstroke, what's your next move? If you and the supermodel can buy me a few minutes, I can blow these Angels and Hell Main Street sky-high."
Albella took a drag from her cigarette, watching Su Ming nonchalantly.
"In the Amazon Rainforest, Batman knew Diana had escaped, but he clearly hasn't found her, which is why we're searching for her tracks here." Su Ming watched as more Angels gathered around them, their chatter incessant like flies: "I don't think blowing up Hell Main Street will help us communicate with Maggie Ken."
"Heh, trust me, Mackenzie couldn't care less about their fates. Just tell her how much pain these Angels and Demons were in before they died, and she'll be delighted."
Albella raised a finger and wagged it, knowing exactly what kind of people Lucifer and Mai Zi were.
Demons in Hell weren't Undead; they resembled creations born of Chaos and human Souls. No matter how many you killed today, as long as there were Souls, new ones would spring up like mushrooms by tomorrow.
"She should be taking care of herself right now," Su Ming pointed to the distant castle, towards which some golden-winged Angels with flaming Weapons were flying.
Interestingly, those Angels wore clothing, even if just bedsheets, but they were clothes nonetheless.
Su Ming realized that an Angel's rank wasn't just visible by their number of wings, or the Enchantment on their Weapons; their clothes gave clues too.
Whenever Raphael and other well-known Archangels appeared, they were immaculately dressed, looking sophisticated, not to mention their meticulously groomed hair and even wearing perfume.
The Low-Tier Angels had no such aspirations; they were merely tools for God, the Shepherd's Long Staff and clumps of clay.
The female Mage squinted and spat on the red-black ground beside her: "This won't do, we have to rescue her."
"She's our only lead, after all. Let's go."
Su Ming took Bo Bo from her, letting him hold onto himself, while he pulled out the Godslayer, turning it into a Great Sword.
Donna hugged the female Mage from behind, but she found the Mage wasn't being entirely well-behaved.
Albella maintained the Shield Magic while occasionally trying to turn her face to sneak a kiss on Donna's neck or ears.
Donna nudged the Mage's head with her chin: "Stop it, I'm not into women."
The female Mage, thick-skinned as a city wall, still tried to smell Donna's scent even as she held her head down: "No problem; most people think they like the opposite sex until they try the same sex."
"I'm not as tolerant as Diana; one more slip-up and I'll toss you to the Angels."
"Alright, I thought you Amazons had some time-passing activities on the island over the millennia."
"Some people fall in love with their sisters, even forming families, but not me, and not Diana." Donna tightened her arms, making the female Mage stick out her tongue in response, her cigarette falling away: "I used to pass the time hunting Magic Beasts, or improving my strength and Martial Arts, but now most of my free time's spent online."
"Can you introduce me to an Amazon? I'm looking for sincere love." Albella patted her chest, momentarily fearing one of her ribs might have snapped.
"Depends on how you behave. By the way, are you a T or a P?" Donna actually found the female Mage quite straightforward, potential friend material.
"Wow, what have you been learning online?"
Albella chimed in sarcastically. She was just joking; she liked men, but with no men around, fooling around with women was also okay to kill time.
Hell's chaotic traits manifested perfectly in her—yearning for sincere love yet unable to escape the lure of carnal desires, one of the prices she paid.
Sign a pact with a Demon, and your fall will shadow you.
"Girls' talk ends here." Su Ming said, as they approached the castle, realizing it didn't even have windows, as if carved out of a massive Black Rock Mountain.
Below, there was a main door and a drawbridge, over a lava flow.
But that was the main battleground, where Demons and Angels were brawling, a tight, hand-to-hand skirmish blocking the entrance, not even a fly could get through.
Su Ming decided to make his own window in the castle.
"Stay close to me. Once inside, Wonder Woman and Bo Bo will cover our rear; the Mage and I will meet Maggie Ken."
Donna promptly followed the order, worried she'd be replaced by Cassie if she disobeyed, so she'd been on her best behavior lately.
In the air, they swapped who they carried, with Su Ming taking the female Mage and Donna grabbing Bo Bo.
"Godslayer, drill."
He drilled into the Black Stone, creating a sloped hole barely wide enough for one person, a point which would aid Donna's defense.
All she needed was to position her Shield at the entrance, and these Ordinary Angels wouldn't breach her defense.
The key lay with those whose wings glowed and wore attire; they would have entered the castle via the main door by then, so Su Ming had to act quickly.
If they helped the Queen of Hell defeat the Angels, they'd have a footing in Hell's affairs.
With Maggie Ken's support, his conflict with Satan could ease somewhat.
The mountain was thick, its rock extraordinarily solid. Despite the Godslayer's sharpness, digging a "thief hole" down wasn't easy.
Darkness surrounded them, light emanating only from the Godslayer, though much of it was blocked by dust and fragments, dimming the view intermittently.
For a change, the Mage remained unusually obedient, clinging to his neck, quietly resting against his chest, only occasionally coughing from the dust.
"You really should smoke less," Su Ming jested as they advanced.
"I know your kind. It starts with suggestions for my health, leading to controlling my life, eventually ordering me to smoke your 'big cigar', right?"
Albella's words shattered any illusion of glamour, sounding instead like a madam from a Gotham den of iniquity.
The way she spoke made her indistinguishable from a Demon, no wonder Bo Bo called her a Succubus.
"Am I asking for it? Hold tight; we're going in now."
Su Ming felt the stone thin beneath the Godslayer's touch; they were close to breaking through the mountain. He reminded the Mage to prepare for battle.
But Albella widened her eyes—hold tight? Going in?
At that moment, in that place, the thrill added an unexpected spice—Deathstroke sure had a sense of adventure.....
