After the plan was finalized, with Su Ming doing most of the talking and the others listening, everyone agreed to it.
So, the group bade farewell to the guerrillas in Paris, and amidst the reluctant gazes of the team members, Su Ming could only sigh. He couldn't help these people much; he had his own mission to accomplish.
So, he led them in singing the Internationale and then gracefully slipped into the sewers...
They successfully exited Paris through the sewage outlet.
The rest was relatively simple. Whatever Su Ming wanted, he just had to give the order.
With Domino in the team, whatever they needed, she could get by just going out for a stroll and picking it up.
"Domino, get us a truck, preferably a model used by the German Army."
In less than ten minutes, Domino got hold of a gray truck, along with a full set of driver's documents and more than a dozen sets of German Army uniforms.
She found them all. It seemed a group of German soldiers went for a midnight swim in the moat, leaving their clothes on the shore. They didn't even take the car keys with them, so Domino drove it back with ease.
The others donned German Army outfits while Su Ming used Strangulation to disguise himself as a Hydra officer. His fluent German allowed him to travel freely in the German Occupation Zone.
Whenever they encountered a checkpoint, he would step out and slap the guards, then shout, "Hail Hydra!"
And the car would pass without a hitch...
This was repeated over a dozen times.
They reached Marseille in southern France, which has four major ports. Sailing across the Mediterranean Region to Egypt was relatively safe, as planes were too easily detected by radar.
Among so many people, only Su Ming and Journey could fly. Little Rascal wasn't yet proficient in stealing powers and could only fly halfway.
To avoid being shot down by German flying discs and end up feeding the fish...
"Domino, get us a boat, one that's spacious, with beds and food, and powerful engines."
In less than ten minutes, Domino came back with a boat.
She had encountered a group of drunk German officers secretly having a party on a yacht at the dock. Since the Supreme Leader didn't advocate drinking, their gatherings were clandestine, without even guards present.
Domino tossed all those drunken fools into the sea and easily invited everyone over to see what she had found.
Everyone boarded the ship, which had everything new on board, from white sheets to ample rooms, and there were already prepared food and drinks.
Su Ming saw that Deadpool, still in pieces, was dragged into a room by three women. Who knows what they were up to.
By rights, he was still a pile of flesh and shouldn't be up to much...
This segment of the journey took longer than planned; the sea route wasn't known for speed.
But amidst the vast ocean, it was safe. By the time they were halfway, they ditched the German flag, painted on a Star-Spangled Banner, and boldly disembarked at Alexandria Port.
It was still British-controlled territory, but due to the altered universe, the British had it much harder in Africa than in normal history, casting a pall over the city.
Strangulation transformed Su Ming again into Captain America.
There was no choice as this identity allowed him to roam freely without checks, no matter how many freaks were behind him.
Everyone smiled and greeted him because he was a big star.
The British loved the various products he endorsed, like instant noodles, stews, drinks, and stockings. The Scottish regiment switched from kilts and short socks to stockings...
Su Ming led a group across the docks. The women in the team were quite numerous, and the X-Men's outfits were noticeably tight, attracting a lot of attention.
But at the forefront was Captain America, always surrounded by beauties.
"A wonderful day, huh?"
Cable, covering his half-mechanical eye, walked beside Su Ming, feeling uncomfortable being watched by so many.
"Smile, try waving at these people, my friend. Always having a stern expression is not good for infiltration."
Strangulation kept 'Captain America' with a perfect smile, but the helmet-filtered, demonic-like voice of Deathstroke ruined it all.
Thanks to Domino's superpower, they managed to get another vehicle, arriving in Cairo by nightfall. It was still a British-controlled zone, though many local traditional aristocrats were secretly in cahoots with the Germans.
But that didn't concern Su Ming; his target was to dig someone out of the desert.
However, neither in movies nor comics were there ever detailed coordinates of where Apocalypse was buried, only that it wasn't far from Cairo.
So, the group had no choice but to find a way to light a bonfire on the dunes at night, eating barbecue while making plans.
"Now, it's up to you, Cable. Can your psychic ability sense mutants?"
Su Ming brewed coffee beans bought from the city while asking Cable beside him. The fire cast a red glow over their faces, and the night desert was cold, but the moon appeared large.
"My ability? If you didn't mention it, I'd have forgotten it myself."
Cable shook his head with a smile, sharpening the end of a cigar with a dagger.
"Well, it seems we'll have to try something else..." Su Ming looked down at the blackened pot; the coffee beans didn't seem very cooperative: "Domino, what about you? Which direction do you prefer?"
Domino, at that moment, was fighting with two women over the use of a beanbag. Deadpool was already regrowing bones, and if they didn't make use of it now, such a chance wouldn't come again easily.
Hearing Su Ming's question, she casually pointed in a direction while still wrestling Vanessa.
Su Ming nodded, now having a direction, and took the pot off the fire: "Alright, everyone, who wants coffee? It might look like asphalt, but I assure you it's drinkable."
..........
With a human cheat tool by his side, locating the target didn't take long. Almost before dawn, Su Ming found a unique four-sided pyramid-shaped metal on a dune in the direction indicated.
It was the top of the Pyramid, made of some kind of golden metal, engraved with Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and intricate, ornate patterns.
This was the Pyramid that sealed Apocalypse. Over the centuries, it had been almost entirely buried.
Sand and dust are both units for measuring time.
Of course, there was also bad news along with the good.....
"Cousin? Did you find something? Let me see, quickly."
Wade, like a red and black snake, slid over the sand to Su Ming's feet, also observing the spire protruding from the sand.
"You know, Wade, your voice now sounds like that of a court eunuch." Su Ming covered his face, Red and Black Nightmare again...
Wade was unconcerned; he had only regrown his upper arm and part of his spine. He was using them to crawl on the ground.
"Really? Do you want to hear me sing? But I only know pop songs. I don't even listen to things like operas, they never beat the whistle of a bullet, right? I always travel with a band..."
Su Ming kicked at the Pyramid's spire, the blue-green gemstone reflecting a chilling ghostly light.
"Shut up, Wade."
