Chapter 322 - Chapter 290: Farewell

However, the intelligence from the Journey was sufficient, so Su Ming took back this little gadget and pressed it into the gap between the wall bricks.

Since it's a signaling device, it shouldn't be carried around recklessly, lest it gets located by the Conqueror.

Moreover, he basically guessed the purpose of this thing.

The Sentinel Robot has a similar function, which is when the original Sentinel Robot is destroyed, it records the enemy's abilities and tactics, then forwards them via satellite to the hard drives of all other Sentinel Robots.

This way, when other Sentinels deal with this enemy next time, it becomes easier; for instance, they might evolve to develop countering abilities or understand the opponent's tactical habits.

They rely on their ability to evolve and this instant synchronization network, chasing the mutants around until Wolverine had to travel through time to change history.

Ultron also has a similar function; you destroy one of its bodies, it will upload itself onto the network, and then replace itself with a more advanced body.

Additionally, there's S.H.I.E.L.D.'s LMD and the Tahiti Plan, Dr. Zola's digital soul from Hydra, AIM's advanced clones—all these are technological means used for rebirth.

"Headache..."

Su Ming had already realized that by killing one Blue Gloves, there might still be infinite Blue Gloves operating everywhere.

If Conqueror Kang isn't dealt with, this will forever be a dead cycle. His forces are like a train, and Su Ming had just dismantled a window from one of its carriages.

Without dismantling the rails, the train won't derail.

"Let's go back to the Rebel Army headquarters first; we'll see how things are on Cable's side."

The group jumped down from the Clock Tower, casually killing a few patrolling German soldiers before slipping into the Nightfall. The streetlights of Paris couldn't illuminate this small team.

At the Burial Hall, Cable and the others were already waiting. Cable sat on a pile of empty ammo boxes, puffing away on his cigar, while Deadpool had recovered a bit, wriggling on the ground like a maggot.

Things had gone smoothly, unbelievably smoothly.

Namor's fragments were all placed in a coffin, casually tossed under a big tree.

No ambushes, no traps, no trackers or poisonous gas—just like going into the forest and picking some mushrooms, retrieving his pieces was even easier than crossing the blockade line of German soldiers to enter and exit the city.

"Deathstroke." Cable extinguished his cigar, putting it back into his carrying gear.

"Cable, did things go smoothly?" Su Ming asked in a low voice, still wearing his helmet.

"Unbelievably smooth; apart from the left hand, the entire Namor is here, not a piece is missing." Cable raised his chin, letting Su Ming look at Namor lying at the side on the ground.

Namor seemed to have fallen into a deep slumber; even when pieced together, he showed no signs of waking. The cut sections of his body had obvious gaps, and even if positions were aligned, they couldn't be joined together.

Also, he truly smelled fishy, like a dead fish.

"Prince, is there a way?"

"This doesn't much resemble magic—it's more like science. But, it's not unsolvable; I just need more assistance." Monac and Holloway were checking Namor's body.

It was Holloway who matched each piece of Namor together.

While studying at medical school and working later at the hospital, he had assembled skeletal specimens and the like—but piecing together a living person was a first for him.

"Alright, Angel, sew him up first and let the Prince take him to the London Temple… Meanwhile, the Mage should take some rest; you've been casting spells too frequently lately. I've already seen who our real opponent is; let us handle the rest."

Su Ming promptly made the decision to have Holloway stitch Namor together like Frankenstein.

Monac intended to say something, but Holloway held him by the shoulder, shaking his head to dissuade him; the Mage's emotions were increasingly turbulent, his spirit almost at breaking point.

Monac sighed, nodding his head.

"Rest assured, German Sorcerers are aplenty, rest up, then head to the German Occupation Zone to take down whomever you wish." Su Ming chuckled and patted him on the shoulder, indicating no time should be wasted.

Monac cast the Teleportation Magic one last time, taking the stitched Namor into London's rainy night.

The Teleportation Gate closed, with the industrial-feeling mist barely lingering at everyone's nose.

"Nick, Peggy, it's time for you to leave. Bring Steve along; I'll send someone to escort you out of the city."

"But..." Peggy furrowed her brows, wanting to learn more.

"That's an order, no negotiating allowed." Su Ming cut them off swiftly: "Go back and inform the Allied high command to prepare in advance against assassination attempts by those wearing Blue Gloves toward the president or prime minister; they aren't ordinary people."

Nick tugged Peggy Carter, signaling with his eyes, knowing that leaving the city with the Captain was much safer, especially since the intelligence of potential assassination attempts on heads of state needed to be relayed back swiftly.

"Thank you, we'll return to the United Kingdom as soon as possible. Actually, we could have left together earlier." Heitan nodded towards Deathstroke, accepting the arrangement.

"Heh, are you daft? Better develop a sense of being surrounded by enemies." Su Ming took out a Hydra Energy Gun lacking energy from behind and tossed it to Heitan for him to account for back home: "If you spend 18 hours in Paris, but only 10 seconds going back, do you think SSR would send you to the asylum or directly to the dissection table? Make sure to conceal everything that happened in Paris, got it?"

Nick Fury took a deep breath, his expression turned serious as well; indeed, now there were enemy agents within SSR—best not to let them discover any traces.

"I understand, thank you again."

"Very well, Little Rascal, you escort them across the blockade lines."

The X-Men left with the Roaring Assault Team, carrying the unconscious Steve.

Actually, what Su Ming told Fury was just one aspect; the other was that he didn't want SSR to have interactions with the Magic Realm.

The Great Mage at the London Temple seemed like an Old Mischievous, silly and unwary—it wouldn't do if they were coaxed into revealing something by Nick and Peggy, two cunning individuals.

SSR, the future S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, were essentially one entity—letting them interact with magic would be courting trouble for the future.

Across the channel in London, the Great Mage studying Namor shivered, sensing someone speaking ill of him behind his back...

"Tch... a slip of the hand, the Magic Staff accidentally cut off Namor's little buddy. Better attach it back, lest it becomes useless later..."

The Great Mage sneakily glanced at Monac, who was sipping tea and meditating not far away, mourning his dead rabbits, not noticing the Great Mage's actions.

"In the name of Emperor Vishanti, Transference of Pain!"

In the jail cells beneath the London Temple, a pale man suddenly let out a heartrending scream...

"Master? What's wrong? Why the Transference Curse?" Monac opened his eyes, confusedly asking the Elder Master.

"Noth....nothing."

The Elder Master smiled kindly, hiding Namor behind his back so Monac wouldn't see, then saw Monac close his eyes again to meditate. He couldn't help but tug his own white beard, thinking.

"Sigh, a slip of the hand again, just... attach it back; although it turned into nunchucks, it should make do, right?"

The Elder Master cast White Magic once more.

...........

"Our enemies have been identified; they're Conqueror Kang from another universe, from another time."

The X-Men completed their escort mission, and Nick and the others coincidentally met the 'Union Jack' party who came to assist them just outside the city. With allies to protect them, the X-Men also returned at ease.

After a brief rest, Su Ming gathered everyone around the oil lamp in the center of the Bone Hall to start the briefing.

Upon hearing this name, almost everyone's expressions changed. They all understood how hard it was to deal with Conqueror Kang, only Su Ming and Wade remained calm.

Because Su Ming was trapped in the time drift at the start, and over the years, he had noticed many abnormalities, mentally preparing to confront any enemies.

While Wade had jumped from a normal timeline into this one, involving others with him, he hadn't realized the current predicament, his attention completely on the three women's posteriors.

Now Su Ming relies on those from the normal timeline to piece the branches cut off by Conqueror Kang from the Tree of Time back together.
