"Impossible! You're lying! Don't believe him!"
The congressman shouted at Su Ming, the last sentence was directed at the others around him.
Under no circumstances could he be associated with Hydra.
"Bang!"
Su Ming fired another shot into the air, indicating that he indeed had a gun in his hand.
The smell of gunpowder and the debris falling from the ceiling reminded them once again.
The congressman suddenly realized, yes, his life was still in someone else's hands. Political life or human life, that was the question...
"Whether I'm lying or not, let Colonel Philip verify it for himself, won't we see?" Su Ming graciously invited Philip to inspect the young man's body, while Philip signaled Carter to go, keeping his eyes on the newcomer.
"How do you prove he's with Hydra?"
"He has a bomb and a remote control on him. Federal officials wouldn't carry these things around, would they?"
"Besides, he also has a cyanide capsule and a Luger pistol on him."
Carter had already discovered the bomb on the body, disguised as a cigarette box, and she also found the weapon. Although it couldn't be confirmed as Hydra, the deceased was clearly not an ordinary person.
Colonel Philip gave the senator a deep look, noting this account in his mind for bringing an unknown spy into SSR...
Now he had dirt on the senator. Next time funding and equipment are short, this would be the person to turn to.
But discovering the existence of a spy didn't solve the problem at hand. This mercenary was still here, showing no intention of leaving.
"We can pay you money. Name a way of transaction, as long as you've left and we're safe, we'll pay you." Colonel Philip rubbed his big nose, his thick eyebrows knitted into a bunch.
Su Ming shook his head, turning to look through the glass at the experimental site below, where Steve was screaming in agony.
"Sorry, I've already taken another job, the employer specifically wants the Super Soldier Serum. As a mercenary, I have to keep my promise."
This was, of course, an excuse. The serum was indeed what Su Ming wanted, but not for himself. He had already undergone one transformation surgery, and now with the support of X Metal's world origin, he didn't need this small vial of blue liquid at all.
The most important thing was that this stuff would make good people better and bad people worse... That was a terrifying side effect.
Su Ming didn't know if he was considered a good or bad person, but he didn't want to change either way. He just wanted to be himself.
The atmosphere suddenly turned heavy again. Neither the Colonel nor Carter could possibly hand over the serum, but the mercenary in front of them wanted nothing but the serum, which posed a problem.
The politicians on the side leaned against the gray cement walls, covering their mouths, their eyes shifting from the Colonel to the armored person.
It was then they noticed Deathstroke looking at them, and they immediately held their breath.
"Huh? Why haven't you left yet?"
"Walter? Can we still leave?"
The politicians were dumbfounded, was leaving still an option?
Of course, they could leave. Su Ming dealing with Captain America and Peggy Carter didn't require hostages, Steve wasn't Batman.
"We'll leave! We'll leave right away!" The politicians were relieved as if granted amnesty, quickly putting on smiles as they headed out of the observation room. They had already thought it through, once they left here, they would run wildly on the street, laughing heartily, to release the fear in their hearts.
Then, just like the absent Mr. Wilson today, they would go on vacation to Hawaii for a good relaxation...
"Hey, wait."
Su Ming suddenly called them back, forcing them to suppress the impulse to run wildly. They knew that no matter how fast a person could run, it wouldn't be faster than a bullet.
"Haha, Mr. Deathstroke, is there anything else?" Congressman Brandt turned around, forcing a smile that looked worse than crying.
Deathstroke rummaged in his thigh holster, pulling out a stack of business cards to distribute to everyone.
"You've all seen my capabilities. Ready-made Super Soldier, the price is absolutely fair. If you have any political enemies or dissenters in the future, you know, I do things very cleanly."
This wasn't for money but for other purposes.
Su Ming didn't have a large-scale advanced intelligence network. The subordinates in his brewery were still of low caliber, good for gathering street rumors.
But these people were different. The political network could sometimes uncover particularly secret things.
When they commissioned tasks from Su Ming, it would inevitably come with mission intelligence. The Marvel World was deep waters, and Su Ming needed this information to prepare for the future.
Any seemingly insignificant client today might know some secrets of the world's survival in the future, unknowingly becoming part of an intelligence network that would work for Su Ming.
"Haha, no political enemies, everyone is for the country." Brandt smiled and shook his head, but his hand wasn't slow at all, slipping the business card into the inside pocket of his suit.
Su Ming also smiled: "That's right, we're all for making this country better."
The card only had Deathstroke's codename and the address of a fast-food restaurant. When someone said the code words on the card, the server in the store would direct them to wait at the public phone across the street.
When Su Ming confirmed that the person was indeed a client, he would make a call from a safe place for discussion.
Now it was rather troublesome, like a spy rendezvous. When the internet was available, things would be much more convenient.
"Haha, goodbye, Mr. Deathstroke."
"Haha, take care, watch out for unconscious people on the road, don't trip over them, there are Hydras all over the street."
Colonel Philip and Peggy Carter tilted their heads, looking at Su Ming and the politicians waving goodbye with a look of despair. These guys were scared out of their wits earlier, yet now they were all smiles.
It seemed like New York would become less peaceful from now on.
But that had nothing to do with them; the SSR was only responsible for dealing with Hydra, city security was up to the police.
Right now, they had another hurdle to get past.
Su Ming turned around, walking straight past Carter and the Colonel who were both tense.
He walked down the observation room stairs; the timing was perfect. At this point, the surrounding machines were sparking, as if about to explode.
Howard's apparatus malfunctioned once again.
Su Ming felt that Howard must have been a goblin engineer in a past life; his products never failed to explode. When he worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. in the future, what he created was truly terrible.
He strode to the apparatus, pulling out the last serum from the box, placing it into the prepared bag, then looked at the dazed Dr. Erskine beside him and knocked him out with a punch.
Carter only then chased out from the observation room. Deathstroke acted too fast for a normal person to catch up with.
But what could she do even if she caught up? The opponent was invulnerable, and their martial arts were frighteningly advanced, with infinite strength. The government officials had indeed left, but all the lab technicians below were still hostages.
"Crackle....."
As the strong light dimmed, Howard turned around. The experiment was completed, although he wasn't confident, he pressed the button to open the hatch.
