This is the method they use most often; as long as they can wrap an arm around Kael's shoulder, he won't be able to escape.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not here for you guys."
Kael skillfully stepped back two paces, then turned to dodge their arms.
"Is Cedric still here?"
"He reportedly went back three hours ago." Fred raised his arm again while answering Kael's question. "Mr. Digory said he was feeling dizzy and was having trouble focusing on work."
"Then never mind," Kael said and casually shifted a step to the left, walking into the office.
With the door frame in the way, it wasn't easy for Fred and George to surround him.
"So what exactly are you and he up to these past few days?"
"Our usual business," Kael said. "Bones demanded confidentiality; you'll find out tomorrow."
"Can't you just tell us directly? Why wait until tomorrow?" George looked a bit miffed, "There's no outsider here."
"No outsider?" Kael glanced into the office, where at least three people were looking for something and two were waiting for Ron to fetch documents for them.
"Can't you just speak quieter?" Fred said nonchalantly, "Just tell us, and we'll cut you a break, how about that?"
"Don't forget, that cup is still in our possession."
This was an outright threat.
Kael raised an eyebrow, unconcerned, "If you guys like it, keep it; it doesn't do much for me anyway."
"You really won't say?"
"Not necessary," Kael shook his head, "at least not at the Ministry of Magic. After all, I do have a reputation to uphold."
"Huh..." Fred scoffed, but didn't press further.
"So, you came looking for Cedric?"
"Then you can go home."
"Just asking in passing," Kael pointed at Ron, who was buried in the pile of files, "I'm really here for Ron; Mrs. Weasley wants me to take him back today, and wrap up work while I'm at it."
"What do you mean?"
"Don't get it?" Kael spread his hands, "It means Ron doesn't have to come to work at the Ministry of Magic anymore starting tomorrow. His work naturally has to be handed over to someone else."
Coincidence or not, as if a keyword had triggered something, Ron, who was buried in work, suddenly looked up at the mention.
"Oh, Kael, what did you say just now?" He instinctively tossed aside what he was holding and staggered over.
"You said I don't have to come to work tomorrow?"
Kael had never seen Ron's eyes so bright, as if he had just seen a God-like Bowtruckle.
"That's right," Kael nodded, "I already spoke to my father this afternoon. Now, you just need to hand over your tasks to the next person... someone should come to assist today; that person will be your substitute. You need to hand over the tasks you're working on and those that are completed.
"They're here, just over there," Ron pointed behind him.
"Good," Kael said, "after you complete the handover, head to the Auror Office to cancel the registration."
"Okay," Ron echoed, running back without looking back, "Wait for me, I'm going to do the handover now."
"No rush, we still need to wait for Hermione, she's not back yet," Kael said.
But at this point, Ron's mind was entirely focused on not having to work anymore; he didn't hear what was said.
Kael shook his head and turned around to see two irritable faces in front of him.
"Did you just say Ron doesn't have to work tomorrow?"
"Is that true?"
"Of course," Kael said, "Hogwarts starts in three days, and he has work to finish."
"What about us?"
The two stepped forward simultaneously.
Kael instinctively backed away, asking softly, "What do you mean, what about you guys?"
"Don't play dumb," Fred squinted.
"Ron and Hermione's work is done, what about us? When do we get to leave the Ministry of Magic?"
"You can leave any time, really; it's after work now."
"I said don't play dumb!" George squeezed his fingers tight, making a cracking sound. "What we mean is not having to come to work tomorrow or the day after."
"You could've just said that," Kael turned his head, "Do you start school in September?"
"That's a joke; we've graduated two years ago."
"Right," Kael patted his shoulder, "Since you're aware you've graduated, why ask such a childish question.
"You're not starting school, so of course you have to keep working."
"You!" Fred and George's eyes turned red; at this moment, they truly wished to clobber Kael, knowing full well they together weren't his match, but they just wanted to hit him.
Winning or losing didn't matter, they just wanted to vent their frustration.
But at this juncture, the elevator doors opened once more.
Mr. Weasley stepped out, spotting the three of them standing at the portal from afar.
"Oh, Kael, I didn't expect you to come already."
"And Fred, George, why are you blocking the door? Move aside, don't block the way."
"Alright, Dad."
They had to temporarily suppress their anger, moving aside reluctantly.
Kael took this chance to leap outside, sticking closely to Mr. Weasley, while raising his eyebrows at them.
"I can't hold back anymore..." Fred panted heavily, "I have to give him a thrashing!"
"And then go home and get another from Mom."
"I don't care, I don't believe Mom would kill me."
