Chapter 1084 - Chapter 797: A Day in Hermione's Life (Part 3)

Harry clamped his mouth shut, his cheeks puffed up like he had two oranges stuffed inside.

He really couldn't imagine what it would look like if Uncle Vernon's neighbor came over to greet them wearing a long dress; Aunt Petunia would probably be so angry she'd go mad.

The whole family were the most normal kind of Muggles, and what they hated seeing most were those abnormal things—like Wizards and Magic and the like.

It was just that the day before his birthday, the whole family had been taken away by people from the Order of Phoenix; he didn't know if they'd gone back yet.

Thinking of this, and using it to distract himself, Harry finally managed not to burst out laughing.

If he laughed at a time like this, Hermione would definitely kill him.

Right then Hermione rubbed her eyes again.

"So, how is it?" Kael looked at her and asked, "Want to switch to another department? I've got connections in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures too. The work there is much more normal, and it would still let you get familiar with the Ministry of Magic."

"No, no need." Hermione took a deep breath and said stubbornly, "No matter what, I'm going to stay here for the full month. Besides, I want to see if I can do something to make their work a bit easier."

"That's not easy." Kael said, "It's very hard to change those Wizards' habits."

"I want to try. Someone has to try to change something." Hermione said firmly, "If I can't even manage this, then I can forget about all those even more troublesome things."

"Mm." Kael raised his eyebrows, poured two glasses of Honey Wine, and pushed one of them over to Hermione. "Then I wish you success."

"Hey, Kael, that's not right of you." Sirius said discontentedly, "What about us, are we just supposed to watch?"

"If you want a drink, just say so." Kael bluntly exposed his thoughts while handing the bottle in his hand over.

"But can you lot even drink?"

"Honey Wine's fine, it won't affect anything even if we have to move." He poured a glass for everyone, just enough to finish the bottle.

Then everyone raised their glasses together to wish Hermione success in advance.

"She's really getting harder and harder to figure out." While drinking his Honey Wine, Ron muttered quietly to Harry, "Why does she have to stay there? I still think the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is better. At least it's the second biggest department in the Ministry of Magic."

"Maybe she has her own ideas." Harry said.

He didn't really get it either, but since it was Hermione's decision, supporting her was the right thing to do.

And to be honest, if he could, he'd quite like to make himself busy too.

But he also knew very well that neither Mrs. Weasley nor Sirius would ever allow him to walk out that door.

As for Kael's methods… those were not under consideration.

After finishing the Honey Wine, everyone dispersed. Mrs. Weasley drove the kids back to their rooms, urging them to hurry up and go to sleep.

Fred and George did not go back to their own room but sneaked off to find Kael instead.

"We've thought it over." Fred said as soon as he came in, "About what you mentioned tonight, the new type of communication device."

"You're sure the Ministry of Magic will pay for it?" George asked.

"To be honest, I can't be a hundred percent sure." Kael said, "But from what Bones implied, if there's a product that can meet all their needs, she should agree to let the Aurors use it."

"But does the Ministry of Magic even have money?" Fred voiced his other worry. "I heard they're planning to expand the Aurors and the Beaters. The more people they have, the more money they'll need. Will they really still have Galleons to buy new Magic Items?"

"They should." Kael thought for a moment. "At least giving one to every Auror squad shouldn't be a problem."

"It's fine, we'll do it." Fred said. "We were going to launch new products anyway. Even if the Ministry of Magic doesn't want them, we can sell them to other people."

"No rush on this one." Kael looked at them and suddenly gave a very kindly smile. "Do you want to train yourselves a bit, or rather, to contribute a crucial share of strength to the peace of the Magic Realm and the stability of the Muggle world?"
