Chapter 362 - Chapter 233: Arrival at the Area Zero Research Institute! New Possibilities? (Part 2)

Just at that moment, footsteps were heard from nearby.

Naoki turned his head to see Professor Turo, dressed in a white lab coat, walking towards him.

Smiling, Turo said to Naoki, "I saw you on the surveillance from Zone Zero, so I came to pick you up. It's great to see you, Naoki. Come, I'll take you and Koraidon to the research institute."

Naoki glanced at the Iron Thorns and then walked over to stand beside Professor Turo. As he looked back, he noticed the gaze of the Iron Thorns was still fixed on him, moving as he moved.

Noticeable of this, Professor Turo explained, "That Pokemon is called Iron Thorns. Its behavior is quite different from the Roaring Moon you saw before."

"This Iron Thorns has an extremely calm temperament, doesn't like unnecessary fighting, and is a highly intelligent and smart Pokemon."

"Currently, I've found some ways to coexist peacefully with it, so it has been staying in Zone Zero for a while now."

Peaceful coexistence? This left Naoki, who had witnessed the predatory instincts of the wild Scream Tail and the UFO-like observing of Raichu by Iron Moth, feeling very surprised.

"Peaceful coexistence?" he asked incredulously.

"Yes!" Professor Turo nodded. "However, achieving this was quite difficult. Before you came, we had to go to great lengths to prove human harmlessness to it and feed it regularly, which is why it accepted our presence."

Naoki was baffled, "Then why can't the ancient species do the same?"

Professor Turo pondered for a moment and replied, "It might be because ancient species of Pokemon naturally possess a primal and inherent ferocity that makes them wildly untamable."

"Compared to ancient species, future Pokemon lack this wild nature. However, their unknown power has evolved to an extreme, and their thoughts and intentions are full of uncertainty."

"To us, their danger level is no less than that of the ancient Pokemon."

"For instance, there's a Pokemon called Iron Bundle, which doesn't attack humans but modifies the environment around it, turning it into an ice field."

Naoki, whose heart had been affected by ancient species, suddenly felt a warmth. His eyes lit up, and he asked, "So, I can capture future Pokemon without worrying about them attacking me?"

"Just some of them," Professor Turo replied with a smile.

Then, as if thinking of something, his expression became serious:

"Furthermore, if you encounter a Pokemon resembling Gardevoir and Gallade, never make eye contact with it! Otherwise, it will see it as a taunt, and its extremely brutal nature will lead it to attack you without hesitation."

Professor Turo showed a look of relief: "I'm very glad it doesn't know the Move Teleport, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to stand here in front of you now."

"Is it that brutal?" Naoki clicked his tongue.

"We didn't expect it," Professor Turo said bitterly.

Speaking of which, they, along with Koraidon, arrived in front of the research institute.

Only then did Naoki realize that there seemed to be more researchers besides Professor Turo and Professor Sada, with many lab-coated individuals around.

At the moment, two people were at the door with telescopes and notebooks, observing the distant Iron Thorns.

They sounded very excited: "Oh wow! Look at the gaze of that Iron Thorns. It seems so rational and intelligent! Surely, it hails from a far future era of Pokemon!"

"Yes indeed! The technology of that place must be far more advanced than ours!"

Upon hearing footsteps, they quickly put down the telescopes and respectfully exclaimed, "Professor!"

"Mmm." Professor Turo nodded.

The doors of the research institute slowly opened, and Naoki followed Turo inside.

Before the doors closed, he again heard the two researchers whisper:

"That Koraidon is number one, isn't it?"

"I can't believe Koraidon can be so obedient. It really likes that person!"

"Indeed! But Koraidon and Miraidon are quite unique, different from other Paradox Pokemon, or else the professor wouldn't have formed a relationship with them so quickly."

Gradually, their voices faded away until they were no longer audible.

Visiting such a place for the first time, Naoki inexplicably felt a bit tense. Turning his head, he noticed that Koraidon was also quite nervous.

Naoki rarely saw Koraidon like this, so he instantly felt less tense. He reached out and patted Koraidon's head, mouthing the words, "Don't be afraid!"

Koraidon made no sound but rubbed its head against the palm of his hand.

At this moment, Professor Turo led them into a spacious room.

The room was filled with various green plants, and a winding stream flowed through the trees.

Flowers bloomed on the grass, and an artificial sun hung from the ceiling, providing light and warmth to the vegetation.

This was like a small Eco Garden!

The area extended far into the distance, but Naoki noticed a clear dividing line not far away, assuming it was using special projection.

Professor Sada was standing on the grass at the moment.

Not far in front of her lay a blue-purple Pokemon, calm and cool in demeanor.

That was… Miraidon!

As if sensing something, Miraidon's pupils slightly shifted, quickly locking onto the suddenly appearing Koraidon.

Upon seeing this Miraidon, Koraidon immediately became alarmed, looking at it with hostility and letting out a roar: "Gaaahss!"

Miraidon's expression did not change at all, appearing like an unfeeling, emotionless mechanical construct.

But the slight current that appeared on its claws demonstrated its intentions.

Seeing the two Pokemon about to fight, Naoki quickly said, "Koraidon, stop!"

Professor Sada also stepped forward, reaching out to Miraidon while calming it: "This one is not an enemy. It lives far away and won't compete with you for this land."

Miraidon's pupils shifted, and the current on its claws disappeared.

And hearing Naoki's voice, Koraidon also calmed down, lowering its head with a helpless look.

With no other option, Naoki could only pat it: "Alright, it's okay."

For some reason, the scene between Koraidon and Miraidon just now felt like watching a large golden dog squabble with a cold cat.

Koraidon's mood gradually settled down.

Naoki then stood up and looked across.

Professor Sada greeted him with a smile: "Welcome to the paradise, Naoki."

"Long time no see, Professor," Naoki said politely, "How's Arven doing?"

Professor Sada lightly nodded: "Since dining with you last time, Arven's relationship with us has improved significantly. He should be at the lighthouse in Cabo Poco Town taking care of Mabosstiff now."

"Alright, let's not say more here." Professor Turo checked the time and said: "It's already five ten. Time for dinner, and after that, I'll show you to your accommodation."

"Thank you very much," Naoki said politely.

Before leaving the Eco Garden, he glanced back at Miraidon.

This Miraidon was unlike other Paradox Pokemon he had seen; it seemed to have fully adapted to humans and this world.

Professor Sada handed her work over to Turo and then led Naoki to the dining area.

On the way, she gently said, "I'm truly sorry about your experiences along the way, but I hope you don't view all Paradox Pokemon that way."

Naoki was slightly startled.

Speaking softly, Professor Sada continued, "They have just arrived in this unfamiliar environment and have yet to adapt to the world we live in."

"But I believe that someday, they will adapt to everything here, and like Koraidon and Miraidon, they will live with us."
