After sealing their mother Kaguya, the Otsutsuki twins: Hagoromo became the second Ten-tailed Jinchuriki, inheriting Kaguya's Rinnegan.
The younger brother, Hamura, went to the moon, continued the family line, and guarded the site of Kaguya's seal for generations, preventing her escape.
The account of Hamura pretty much ends here. But the Hyuga Clan, based on blurry text, speculate they are descendants of Hamura, though no one knows why they eventually took up residence on Earth.
Afterwards, the terrestrial world entered the era led by Hagoromo, and even though the greatest threat—Kaguya—was sealed, the chaos continued.
Evil monsters roamed the land, Hagoromo traveled the world, spreading the teachings of the Ninja Sect and the true nature of chakra, while suppressing and sealing various demons to quell the disorder.
In the end, because of these great deeds, Hagoromo became known as the Six Paths Sage.

This Six Paths Sage, just like his mother Kaguya, had two children: the elder Indra, the younger Asura.
