When the Magic Power source was lost, the ancient city of Nirvana fell into absolute silence, and the prompt sound of the Wish commission being completed simultaneously echoed in Noah's mind.
[Local Commission Completed]
[Reward: Magic – "Myriad Manifestations"]
Transformation Magic – "Myriad Manifestations": This Magic was created by the legendary Grand Mage "Roubaul Nirvit" and is the prototype of the Super Magic "Nirvana." A Mage who learns this Magic can freely transform their Magic Power into any magical attribute.
This Magic, which wouldn't bring a direct increase in combat power, still greatly interested Noah, and he immediately accepted this reward.
Simply feeling the Magic Power within his body, Noah smiled, despite there being no substantial increase.
Arbitrary Magic attribute transformation meant that in battle, he could instantly change the attribute of the Magic he used, thereby altering its power. For example:
The Whale Slayer Punch, delivered by the "Evil Whale's Spirit" imbued with water elements, could, at the moment of impact, be changed to the more domineering lightning attribute Magic using "Myriad Manifestations," increasing the move's power.
The same applied to Wind Slayer. By transforming the Magic attribute, it could temporarily display the Devil Slayer Magic power that would otherwise belong to other attributes.
With frequent use, given Noah's talent, mastering those potentially lost Devil Slayer Magic spells without a teacher shouldn't be a problem.
Later, when he acquired Dragon Slayer Magic from Natsu, and then transformed its Magic attribute through "Myriad Manifestations," wouldn't it also be possible to learn Dragon Slayer Magic of other attributes?
From one, see all; from one, create myriad spells.
The potential of "Myriad Manifestations" was incredibly high—it truly lived up to being the prototype of "Nirvana" and the Magic Roubaul had poured his heart and soul into creating.
"Noah, what should we do with these people?" Facing his younger brother, who was inexplicably giggling to himself again, Mystogan was somewhat used to it.
Snapping back to reality, Noah wiped the non-existent drool from the corner of his mouth, looked at the remaining four Mages and Jellal, and unhesitatingly gave his opinion. "Whatever Brain's fate was, that's their fate too~"
At these words, Angel immediately trembled with fear, Cobra's pupils dilated, Hoteye's face showed shock, and Midnight had to awaken from his feigned sleep.
Jellal looked at Brain's corpse, laid out before him, its gruesome death by disembowelment and head explosion truly horrifying.
These Mages who'd fallen into darkness weren't strangers to killing, but they'd never used such cruel methods.
Could this really be something a Mage from a Legal Guild would do?
Jellal didn't know about the others, but this despicable fellow named Noah could certainly do it.
Even Mystogan's gaze toward Noah was a little off. He'd wanted to ask earlier what Brain and his other personality had done to make his younger brother give him both a chilling blow through the heart and a head explosion.
"What do you take me for? Brain's death was his own doing."
"I just purely want you to die for your sins—is there really a need to look at me with such eyes?"
Being looked at like a pervert by several people, Noah was helpless but too lazy to explain the matter of "Brain" + "Zero" = "Zero."
Among these people, only Midnight knew that Brain's body contained a personality called Zero. They knew even less about the existence of Zero.
Jellal and the four others couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Death, for people like them who'd gone astray to achieve their desires, might even be a form of liberation.
However, Mystogan stopped Noah's plan. He'd previously spoken with the captured Hoteye, and these people weren't inherently evil—it was just that from the Tower of Heaven to being bought by Brain, their environment never gave them a chance to be good people.
"These people should still be handed over to the Magic Council. I don't want you to be stained with too much blood like them."
Since his older brother had spoken, Noah extinguished his murderous intent, but looked at the five captured individuals with a half-smile. "My older brother is kind-hearted—you all got to live another day."
By the time they returned to Cait Shelter, more than half a day had passed since they departed at Roubaul's request.
Dusk had arrived, and wisps of cooking smoke rose from the village-like Guild.
However, this human touch, in the eyes of Noah and Mystogan, who knew the truth, seemed somewhat desolate.
"Je... Brother Mystogan, Brother Noah! You're back!"
Wendy and the two cats saw the group from afar and excitedly welcomed them, but after only a few steps, the little girl slipped and fell with a plop.
Is this the legendary flat-ground fall... Catching the flying Cheese, Noah mentally grumbled about his cute, adopted sister.
"Really, Wendy, watch where you're going."
The white cat Carla coolly held her two paws, but her tail, tied with a pink bow, was already wrapped around Wendy's arm—what a tsundere cat.
Noah didn't see Snow, which was a bit surprising, as that hamster and Cheese were always inseparable.
"Cheese, where's Snow?"
"A female guest came, and Snow said she's very, very powerful. She's currently entertaining her with Guild Master Roubaul," Cheese said, lying down on Noah's shoulder, looking a bit tired from playing with Wendy.
A powerful female guest?
Noah and Mystogan simultaneously looked at Wendy. The shy little girl patted her skirt, her face flushed as she said, "Not long after you two brothers left, a big sister in a white dress came. She said she knew you, so Grandpa invited her to stay as a guest."
Based on Wendy's description, Noah immediately knew who it was.
Ultear—she came so fast. Was she that eager to hear about Brain's death?
Following Wendy directly to Roubaul's residence, before even entering, they heard the old man's voice, "Wendy, Carla, you two go eat first. I have something to discuss with your brothers."
The little girl didn't think much of it, agreed, and happily picked up the white cat to go eat.
Noah was uneasy leaving Jellal and the four others outside, so he brought them into Roubaul's residence as well.
The residence was simple, with only a wooden bed and a chair that clearly looked like it had just been moved in. Roubaul and Ultear sat on opposite sides, and the hamster Snow gnawed on its provisions.
"Young men, thank you."
Roubaul's aged voice came.
The words, vaguely carrying a sense of relief, made Noah and Mystogan understand that Roubaul already knew about their destruction of Nirvana.
