----------
More than four hundred years ago, after the Nirvit Tribe completed Nirvana, they gave the city that housed this super Magic a name that matched their original intention.
"The Peaceful Land of Nirvana."
Unfortunately, Nirvana didn't have time to bring peace to the world, and the "Peaceful Land" became the burial ground for the entire Nirvit Tribe.
Given the size of the ancient city of Nirvana, even Noah wasn't confident he could completely destroy it. After all, it was a "homeland" and a beautiful "vision" of peace that a powerful tribe had built with countless efforts.
If Nirvana were truly that easy to destroy, it would be too disrespectful to the Nirvit Tribe.
Although the great battle between Noah and Zero destroyed many ancient city buildings, those structures had already decayed over a hundred years.
The only effective damage to the ancient city was the breaking of the ground in the central area, exposing the underground cemetery.
Fortunately, the gravestones not only recorded why the Nirvit Tribe perished but also contained some information about Nirvana.
As a super Magic that, once activated, could affect the world as time passed, the Magic Power required by Nirvana was astronomical.
The Nirvit Tribe spent countless efforts and time to find the energy source that could provide Magic Power for Nirvana from an ancient ruin.
These were six massive Magic Crystals that could produce and store large amounts of Magic Power. After being repaired by the Nirvit Tribe, they were placed at the base of the six mechanical legs that supported the city's movement.
The records on the gravestones ended there.
Although it was a pity there was no record of how Nirvana was created, this was enough for Noah.
As long as those six Magic Crystals were destroyed, Nirvana, with its Magic Power source cut off, would naturally cease to function. Without enough Magic Power to sustain it, even the strongest Magic would become useless.
Even if an energy source of the same level could be found later, it would be impossible to fill the energy into Nirvana due to the loss of its creation method.
However, those six special Magic Crystals would likely be difficult to destroy.
Otherwise, Roubaul's Thought Projection wouldn't have guarded them for hundreds of years.
According to the description on the gravestones, besides automatically producing Magic Power, those six massive Magic Crystals also shared a common characteristic: "symbiosis."
Unless all six Magic Crystals suffered destructive damage at the same time, they would quickly recover to their pristine state regardless of how much damage they sustained.
This meant that only by destroying all six Magic Crystals simultaneously could Nirvana's Magic Power source be completely severed.
With Noah's strength and Mystogan's assistance, setting up timed Magic Circles to detonate those six Magic Crystals wouldn't be difficult, but Noah didn't want to do that.
These six energy Magic Crystals were a Magic Power regeneration device.
Instead of destroying them, it would be better to benefit himself.
With a decision made, Noah ascended with the wind, leaving the underground cemetery, and also carrying Zero's corpse with him. It was better not to let such a defiled thing remain in the Nirvit Tribe's resting place.
Stepping on a gentle breeze, Noah found Mystogan.
Because Noah killed Zero, the "Organic Link" connected to the five Mages was naturally released, but one of them still died from the extraction.
Sawyer had been severely wounded by his own Magic bomb, and when Zero extracted Sawyer's Magic Power and stamina through the "Organic Link," his fate was already sealed.
Sawyer, who dreamed of running, ultimately couldn't outrun death.
Regarding their companion's death, Cobra, Hoteye, and Angel didn't feel much sadness. They'd been forced by Brain to commit many sins and had long expected that one day they would face retribution.
Midnight looked at the headless corpse Noah had discarded with complex emotions.
For Midnight, Brain truly treated him like a son. While his other companions endured harsh training, Brain allowed him to sleep peacefully.
But Midnight also knew that Brain's other personality, Zero, only saw him as a tool to be used.
Caught between right and wrong, Midnight slowly closed his eyes, deciding it was better to sleep.
Noah glanced at the silent Jellal, called Mystogan aside, and told him his thoughts.
Mystogan looked at his younger brother in surprise. "You want to transport Nirvana's energy Magic Crystals to Edolas?!"
Noah nodded and smiled. "That's right. The reason our homeland's Magic Power is depleted is because the land no longer produces Magic Power, so I want to send something that can produce Magic Power back!"
Noah's brilliant idea even moved Mystogan, but he still hesitated. "What about Master Roubaul? He is, after all, Nirvana's guardian. Should we...?"
"Don't worry, big brother. Senior Roubaul will be very happy to see us strip Nirvana of its energy."
Noah then told his big brother everything he'd seen and heard in the underground tomb.
When he heard that the real Roubaul had died long ago, and that the "Roubaul" they saw at Cait Shelter was merely a Thought Projection, Mystogan, who usually didn't show emotions on his face, couldn't help but show a shocked expression.
A Thought Projection that seemed to have been maintained for four hundred years—this was truly astonishing.
After learning the truth, Mystogan had no more doubts and quietly waited for Noah to explain his plan.
Noah's plan was for Mystogan to cooperate with him in opening six small-range Animas to transport those six energy Magic Crystals away.
Anima is a very special spatial Magic. It has only one condition for locking onto a target: a creature or inanimate object with a "large Magic Power volume."
Logically, as long as the Anima Magic Circle was precise enough, those six Magic Power regeneration crystals could be simultaneously transported away individually.
However, after successfully replicating Anima, Noah hadn't conducted further research on it, let alone controlled its range and precision.
In both the Edolas and Earth Land worlds, only one person could perform precise Anima: Mystogan.
"I have no objections."
Mystogan agreed with Noah's plan.
All these years, he'd been traveling back and forth across the Ishgar continent to set up means to interfere with Anima. Mystogan was confident that no one understood this Magic better than him.
Seeing Mystogan agree, Noah casually said, "Big brother, let's find some time to go home and visit."
Mystogan didn't reply. He'd indeed come to terms with the past, but that didn't mean he was willing to go back and see the ruthless father who'd abandoned him.
Silence meant refusal. Noah knew his brother still harbored resentment.
If such a thing had happened to him, Noah would've already gone back and confronted the old man. Compared to that, Mystogan, who was merely unwilling to meet Faust, was still too kind.
Noah had no right to demand anything from his brother, so he could only settle for a compromise, saying, "Last time I transported the Tower of Heaven, which had been turned into Magic Crystals, to Edolas, I actually forgot to write a letter to Dad. This time, I must remember."
"Big brother, do you have anything you want me to tell him?"
Watching Noah pull out paper and a pen from who-knows-where, Mystogan was silent for a moment, then extended his hand to him. "I'll write it myself."
A short while later.
Six pure white pillars of light broke through the sturdy ancient city, shooting straight up into the sky. Six spherical Magic Crystals, larger than a human, ascended with the light until they completely dematerialized and vanished into the sky.
The Anima, traversing between two worlds, carried away not only a Magic Power regeneration device but also letters from two children to their father.
