Noah let out a long, weary breath and brought his hand to his forehead, pressing his palm against his skin in a gesture of pure exhaustion.
At this point, he was too tired to fight the tide of Luke's enthusiasm. He looked at the young man and gave a stiff nod of his head.
"Fine. You know what? Just do whatever makes you happy, but please, we really need to leave this house right now. Every second we waste is a second closer to a national disaster."
Luke offered a beaming, triumphant smile that reached both of his eyes. "Yes, Madam President! I am on it immediately!"
Noah rolled his eyes so hard it almost hurt. He hated that title with a passion, but he simply didn't have the energy to correct Luke anymore to prevent hearing a heartfelt speech about etiquette from Luke.
He stood back and watched with a pained expression as Luke walked around the rear of the vehicle to open the back door with a flourish.
