Third POV
Stella took a step forward when a figure suddenly stood before her.
Lucas's hand shot out as a barrier in a speed faster than any human, successfully deterring the intruder from coming any closer.
His gaze locked onto the person—fierce and unyielding. "Alpha Malvin," he smirked, his voice cold and edged with a clear warning. "I hope you can keep your distance."
Alpha Malvin raised his hands in quiet surrender. Besides, this was an organized summit, and he shouldn't make trouble.
Or maybe not in this way.
And even if he made trouble, he would definitely ensure it wouldn't put him in a bad light.
"Alpha Lucas," his voice growled. "It's just an old-time friend… isn't it proper to exchange pleasantries?"
"You can," Lucas responded evenly, "but I believe you should keep a reasonable distance while doing so. Or do you have another intention?"
Malvin chuckled. "Prince Lucas, you are quite protective, you know."
