Baek Haemin stood still for a moment longer after Ryu Jinmu's shadow disappeared beyond the parked cars, his tall figure swallowed by the dim lights of the street as the sound of the engine faded into the distance. Only when the noise completely vanished did Haemin realize how abruptly quiet it had become around him, as though the space Jinmu left behind had been scooped out, leaving an awkward hollow in its place.
He let out a slow breath and rubbed the back of his neck, his shoulders loosening now that he was finally alone. It wasn't that Ryu Jinmu made him uncomfortable—if anything, it was the opposite. The man's presence had become strangely stabilizing, like a walking wall of ice that froze everything chaotic around him. Now that it was gone, Haemin felt exposed.
"…I should head back."
He muttered to himself.
