As the monsters scattered throughout the city, the once orderly streets collapsed into confusion. Some of the creatures wandered into secluded places where human presence had already thinned, slipping into narrow alleys and abandoned buildings. Others charged directly toward crowded roads, drawn by noise and movement. Regardless of where they went, they all shared the same instinct. They existed to spread fear and to release their pent-up rage.
The dungeon break left its mark almost immediately. Sirens rang endlessly in the distance, overlapping with one another until they blurred into a single, suffocating sound. Shattered glass littered the ground, crunching beneath hurried footsteps as civilians fled without direction. Smoke rose from damaged storefronts, drifting lazily across the road and dimming the emergency lights that reflected off the concrete walls.
