"Yes! Thank you!" he burst out, practically bouncing on the mattress. Willie threw his arms around him in an impulsive embrace.
For a brief second, Ravok stiffened.
Affection was not something he wore comfortably. It belonged more naturally to Eric. But the sincerity in the gesture was unfiltered.
Ravok stiffened for a brief second beneath the unexpected embrace. "Okay… none of that," he muttered.
Willie immediately pulled back, sheepish but still glowing with adrenaline. "Sorry. Just excited."
"Promise you will be careful."
"I promise," Willie said firmly.
Ravok reached forward and gave the boy's hair a rough pat. "Do your pack proud."
"Always."
"Find Cyril," Ravok continued, straightening to his full height again. "He will provide you with what you need. You have three days or I am coming there to look for you." His eyes sharpened. "You fail, you will be doing push ups for the rest of your life."
Willie grinned. "Yes, Alpha."
