A mechanical sound rang out from the stone pedestal beneath the statue. Slowly, a crack appeared, and a dark green square stone box was pushed out.

Emerging from an extremely concealed underground cave within the mountains, Luo Yu climbed to a high vantage point and looked around. He realized that this place was now very far from the eerie town he had visited before.
Holding the bronze ancient bell in his left hand, Luo Yu let out a long breath. He had nearly died this time—yet by sheer luck, the God of Death wasn't home and had completely gone offline, allowing him to escape danger and pick up a huge windfall.
Even without mentioning the Illusory Spirit Wine that could change one's constitution or the black token of unknown purpose, merely acquiring a super divine artifact for free was enough to make this trip worthwhile.
Gazing toward the distant town, Luo Yu narrowed his eyes as a cold light flashed within them."You didn't expect me to escape, did you? Once my strength improves, I'll come back and test just how deep your demonic power truly is."
"Master, where are we going now?" the artifact spirit asked excitedly.
Being outside clearly thrilled it. After being alone in the underground cave for so long, it had been stifled beyond endurance.
"Where to?" Luo Yu shook his head.
"You're far too conspicuous. I'll store you away for now."
With a reverse motion of his hand, Luo Yu put away the super divine artifact, the Soul-oul Devouring Bell. At his current cultivation level, he couldn't refine it anyway, so keeping it out served no purpose. He'd need to figure out how to deal with it later.
After surveying his surroundings, Luo Yu deliberately avoided the direction of the eerie town. Trusting his intuition, he chose a random direction and set off, his disgruntled voice echoing behind him.
"I refuse to believe my luck can be this bad again!"
