Ciel's POV
"What do you mean were in far more danger than I realize?" I asked, watching Ael closely.
"You don't know Asriel," he said grimly. "He's extremely dangerous—relentless when it comes to achieving his goals. He's already caused massive destruction in Heaven by waging war."
I exhaled slowly. "It seems this man is more dangerous than I thought."
Ael ran a hand through his hair, clearly troubled. "If anyone discovers everything I've done, I'll be finished," he said with a heavy sigh.
Then he looked up at me. "We should make a deal. You lend me some of your army, and I'll send mine. Together, we find Asriel and Lucien and end this once and for all. It's the best way."
"Why would I do that?" I asked coldly. "You betrayed our truce and refused to believe me when I came to you for help. And from everything you've said, that still wouldn't be enough to stop Asriel."
