Chapter 106 - [DEM] 106: The Mastermind

Days passed in a flash.

Only twenty-seven days remained until the Dark Tournament.

It was a rare Saturday, a day off from school.

Morpheus was about to head out when an unexpected visitor arrived at his door—none other than Urahara Kisuke.

Perched atop his head was the black cat, Yoruichi Shihouin.

Morpheus was mildly surprised. He welcomed Urahara Kisuke, standing in the sunlight, into his home, offering him a glass of sweet cola.

This cola, sourced from Morpheus's Light Dimension, was exceptionally delicious.

"You're here today because you've found the real mastermind behind those Hollows, haven't you?" Morpheus asked.

Urahara Kisuke took a sip of the cola, a flicker of delight in his eyes, and said with a smile, "Indeed, thanks to your help, I've tracked down the one creating those Hollows."

"Who is it?" Morpheus asked casually.

"A man named Geto Suguru," Urahara Kisuke replied. "He's quite skilled. I tried to capture him, but he slipped away."

Geto Suguru?

The name immediately sparked recognition in Morpheus. He recalled the man's identity.

Geto Suguru was one of the antagonists from Jujutsu Kaisen.

In his youth, Geto Suguru had been considered one of the strongest, on par with the ceiling of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo Satoru.

As a student, he held the belief that "jujutsu sorcerers must protect ordinary people."

But at seventeen, while on a solo mission, Geto witnessed ignorant villagers imprisoning and persecuting the young Nanako and Mimiko Hasaba, blaming them for all the village's misfortunes.

Already shaken by prior events, this sight pushed Geto over the edge.

He went berserk, killing all 112 villagers who had harmed the Hasaba sisters.

From that moment, Geto Suguru veered onto a dark path.

He murdered his non-sorcerer parents.

Donning a gojo kasaya, he forcibly took over the renamed Star Religious Group, using it as a base for his operations.

He amassed wealth and collected curses by exorcising them for ordinary people and working for wealthy clients.

Those clients, once drained of value, were mercilessly killed by Geto.

At this point, Geto aimed to create a world where "sorcerers wouldn't be persecuted by ordinary people," vowing to eliminate all non-sorcerers who could spawn cursed spirits, building a paradise for sorcerers.

Thus, he became known as the most wicked curse user.

A year before the main story of Jujutsu Kaisen, he launched the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons to seize the special-grade cursed spirit, Rika Orimoto.

By dispersing his cursed spirits to aid in battle, he was gravely injured by Yuta Okkotsu, losing his right arm, and was ultimately executed by his best friend, Gojo Satoru.

He died at twenty-seven.

After his death, Gojo Satoru didn't cremate his body.

Geto Suguru's corpse fell into the hands of Kenjaku, who used it as a vessel.

As for Kenjaku, he was a sorcerer who had lived for over a thousand years by constantly swapping bodies.

After a millennium of changes, all that remained of him was a brain.

Thus, many fans affectionately called him "Brain Flower."

Geto Suguru was his current host.

Of course, this was all from the Jujutsu Kaisen storyline.

In this crossover world, who knew what changes had occurred? Was the one controlling Geto Suguru still Kenjaku? That was the question.

In this absurd crossover world, anything ridiculous could happen.

Curious, Morpheus asked, "Have you ever met this Geto Suguru before?"

Urahara Kisuke shook his head. "Never heard of him. If not for this investigation, I wouldn't even know he existed."

"Then why would he impersonate you?" Morpheus pressed.

Urahara Kisuke gave a wry smile. "That's what I'd like to know."

Morpheus asked a third question. "The Geto Suguru you saw—did he have a stitch line across his forehead?"

This time, Urahara Kisuke answered without hesitation. "Yes, he did have a stitch line on his forehead."

Morpheus nodded. That pretty much confirmed it: the real Geto Suguru was dead.

The one controlling his body was likely Kenjaku.

"One more question. Do you know someone named Kenjaku?"

At the mention of the name, Urahara Kisuke froze, instinctively about to shake his head but paused, his expression turning pensive.

Seeing this, Morpheus asked, "What, do you know him?"

Urahara Kisuke shook his head. "I'm certain I've never met him, but the name Kenjaku sounds familiar, like I've heard it somewhere."

Morpheus said, "If I'm not mistaken, he's an ancient relic who's lived for over a thousand years."

Urahara Kisuke's eyes flickered, sinking into thought.

Yoruichi Shihouin, the black cat perched on his hat, pondered for a moment before speaking slowly. "I've heard of him. A thousand years ago, he was an exceptionally skilled onmyoji."

"Some said he was one of the greatest onmyoji since Abe no Seimei and Ashiya Doman."

Morpheus raised an eyebrow. "Onmyoji? Not a jujutsu sorcerer?"

Yoruichi Shihouin replied calmly, "Jujutsu sorcerers are a branch of onmyoji. They call themselves sorcerers, but to us, they're just onmyoji."

Morpheus let out a thoughtful "Oh." So, in this world, jujutsu sorcerers were a subset of onmyoji.

It wasn't hard to grasp.

When he watched Jujutsu Kaisen, he'd noticed that the curses used by sorcerers weren't all that different from onmyoji techniques.

The only unique feature was probably the Domain Expansion.

Beyond that, he couldn't see much difference between jujutsu sorcerers and onmyoji.

In this chaotic, stitched-together world, it made perfect sense for jujutsu sorcerers to be a branch of onmyoji.

Urahara Kisuke chimed in, "Now that you mention it, I think I remember. Back in the Soul Society, I heard some deceased onmyoji talk about it."

"They said two remarkable figures had emerged among the onmyoji, hailed as the new Abe no Seimei and Ashiya Doman."

"One of them was Kenjaku, and the other, I think, was…"

Yoruichi Shihouin said slowly, "Tengen."

Urahara Kisuke snapped his fingers. "That's right, the other was Tengen."

Well, that was unexpected.

Morpheus hadn't anticipated that Kenjaku and Tengen would carry such reputations.
