Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Honey, You Won't Blame Me, Right?

Suddenly, there was some noise coming from the closed door.

Maya had just arrived and saw Ian Rowe and Vincent Summers eating, and they seemed to be enjoying it.

"Eating?" Maya's radiant face carried a smile as she sat directly next to Ian.

Ian was the protagonist's husband and the male lead Eric Rowe's brother, owning countless assets and truly being a big shot.

According to the plot, this big shot divorced Maya because he couldn't tolerate her arrogance and countless sins, leaving Maya with nothing, begging on the streets, while Kiki gained entertainment resources through the connection with Eric Rowe, soaring beyond the skies.

In a certain sense, Ian is the key figure who drives the plot.

And what Maya needs to do, of course, is to quickly make him tired of her!

Ian's expression was indifferent, not bothering to spare Maya a glance, but if you looked closely, you could see a trace of disgust.

Vincent Summers' expression was much more complex; seeing Maya, the infamous madwoman, made him a bit nervous. Once, when he came over to play, he was too loud and disturbed Maya's daytime nap, and this madwoman actually set her Tibetan Mastiff on him!

He lay in a hospital bed for half a month...

Vincent subconsciously shifted away from Maya.

Maya picked up the spoon without hesitation, served some soup, and tasted it.

The taste is a bit strange...

How could Ian have such a peculiar taste?

Maya saw that Ian's calm gaze finally stirred with agitation; was he feeling annoyed?

Thinking this, the dishes no longer seemed so difficult to swallow.

She was indeed a bit hungry today.

The last book-transmission mission Maya had was surviving on a deserted island, a godforsaken place with barely any wild fruits. In the end, Maya starved to death to fulfill the female lead.

Vincent looked at Maya with an exceptional horror in his eyes.

He'd long known that despite Maya's arrogance, she was obsessively attached to Ian, almost to the point of obedience. Otherwise, she wouldn't have resorted to clumsy tricks like faking a pregnancy just to marry Ian.

Even this pitch-black horror she swallowed without batting an eye, testing the poison—this must be love to the bone! Must be love so intense it tears the heart apart!!

Ian slightly regarded Maya, his expression complex: "What trick do you want to play now?"

Seeing him like this, Maya thought he was repelled by her stealing his food. She quickly finished the dishes in front of her and smiled at him: "You won't blame me for eating so much, right? Oh, by the way, hubby... next time prepare more, or it'll never be enough."

Before going upstairs, Maya left a provocative smile.

Ian and Vincent, however, fell silent for a few seconds.

Vincent exclaimed with a ghostly expression: "Since when did Maya learn to flutter her eyes at you..."

Maya returned to her bedroom, and she and Ian slept in separate rooms. That was good, giving her enough private space.

The protagonist's room was filled with various luxury brand products. Since the protagonist disliked anyone touching her things, the room appeared cluttered.

Feeling a bit tired, Maya drowsily thought about finding someone to clear out these space-consuming items tomorrow.

The previous world was so harsh; once Maya encountered the soft, comfortable bed, she fell asleep in no time.

Maya had an etiquette class today, and Ryan knew she had a lazy nature, so he rang her in a deathly chain early, an hour ahead.

Maya just turned off her phone and slept until noon before getting up. She didn't forget to call Ryan back, claiming her phone had been damaged by water and was just repaired.

Ryan knew her habits well, advising her to get a waterproof phone next time before urging her to attend the company's arranged courses.

After washing up, Maya wore casual clothes and tied up a high ponytail as she went downstairs, bare-faced.

The original owner loved beauty, especially exaggerated makeup, a striking red dress paired with sequined high heels, becoming the "focus" of any crowd in seconds.

Maya, however, didn't like it because she was lazy.

Ian was discussing business with Vincent in the living room, wearing a white shirt with black patterns paired with loose khaki trousers, lazy yet stylish.

His slender fingers held a cigarette; the swirling smoke couldn't hide his elegant contours.

Seeing Ian, Maya's eyes lit up; she rushed directly downstairs and sat on the sofa beside Ian, tenaciously grabbing his arm.

Maya remembered Ian had slight mysophobia and disliked physical contact with others.

Vincent shrank back until he realized he was at the edge of the sofa and stopped. He was almost scared dumb by Maya's sudden attack! When did she appear? Did she fly there directly!?

"Hubby, knowing you're home today, I woke up really early just for you."

Maya didn't forget to rub Ian oilily.

Vincent's eyelids twitched; he wished he could press Maya's big face to make her realize what time it was!

Ian frowned, pulling his arm away.

He paused for a second upon seeing Maya's face.

The girl's face was clean, unpainted; without heavy makeup concealing it, the beautiful brows and eyes were clearly revealed.

Looking like this... was more pleasant than before.

Ian merely paused for a second, his gaze cold, and impatiently said: "Let go."

Maya saw Ian like this, hating her, and felt extremely happy inside, yet she teasingly responded, "Hubby, you don't have to be so stingy, right? I just hugged your arm, were you embarrassed?"

Understanding it's best not to overdo it, Maya stood up, grabbed her bag, and feigned an affectionate tone:

"Hubby, I'm leaving, don't miss me too much while I'm gone!"

She also blew a kiss afterward.

After Maya left, Vincent muttered: "Why is Maya acting so crazy, she never clung to you like this before."

Ian's deep eyes flashed something, then he picked up the document, his tone indifferent: "Forget her."

Maya is capricious and willful, usually enjoys playing tricks; who knows what she's plotting this time.

Yet somehow that warm touch lingered in his mind for a second.

Maya was led by Scott to the Valerius Group's training room.

"Sister Maya, you're late again today..." Scott's eyes showed some worry: "This new instructor Rowe isn't ordinary; Valerius spent a huge amount inviting him, and there are quite a few artists inside. Ryan advised me to remind you to be more restrained."

Maya gestured to indicate she understood, then pushed open the door and walked in.

Scott only left after Maya's figure completely disappeared from his line of sight.

Maya seemed no different than usual, yet there was a calm aura about her now that inexplicably put people at ease.

There weren't many people in the training room, all of them significant artists, and some potential newcomers like Kiki Monroe.

"You are Maya Monroe?"

The woman's voice was harshly cold and sharp.
