This week of preparing the defense, Sienna Thornton was very busy. During the day, she dealt with matters at the law firm and The Forresters, and when she got home at night, she had to look up legal statutes, think of punchy lines, and draft her speech.
Seeing her busy every night, Simon Forrester decided to bring his work home as well. The two of them occupied corners of the study, one drawing and reviewing diagrams, the other revising and memorizing her speech.
Once, Sienna Thornton printed out her draft but didn't pick it up in time. During a break, Simon Forrester glanced at it, asking while reading, "Don't you think the defendant in this case is being too harsh?"
"In what way?"
"If the child were born, it would already be viable. But she insisted on aborting, killing an innocent life."
Sienna Thornton didn't respond for a moment.
This case was indeed unsettling.
