The lighting was warm and low in the seats, brighter toward the stage, and the screen at the front was enormous in a way that made the whole room feel scaled down around it. Good acoustics. The kind of space where sound didn't bounce around being annoying, it just settled.
Industry people everywhere. Press. VIPs. The sort of crowd that clapped at the right moments and talked about it afterward using words like nuanced.
