Thirty minutes later, Valentina was still screaming to be let out.
Her voice was getting more raspy, but she preferred to go on than to familiarize herself with the dimness of the room.
"I will never forgive you, Vittorio. Never!" She screamed and hit the door with all of her strength.
All of a sudden, it opened.
Her heart jumped into her mouth when she saw the door open up.
It began to hammer when she saw Elio standing in front of her.
"Are you crazy?"
She double blinked. It was the first thing he was asking her.
Now she was beginning to wonder if she looked crazy.
"What?"
"You've been screaming. Acting the victim when you tried to kill Daniela."
"Oh my God! Not you too? I did no such thing."
"Please, Valentina. You're in no position to plead your case. You betrayed Luce. There is nothing you can't do."
"I can't believe you'll say this to me, Elio. I didn't try to kill Daniela. How could you even believe I would?" Her eyes pleaded desperately to be believed.
