After extracting Crocodile's ability, Loki casually tossed the apple-now transformed into a Devil Fruit-toward Emiya.
Emiya frowned and took a bite.
Ugh.
It was just as disgusting as before.
Fortunately, only one bite was needed to gain the Devil Fruit's power. If he had been forced to eat the entire apple, Emiya would have outright refused.
A few seconds after consuming it, Emiya successfully acquired the power of the Suna Suna no Mi.
With a single thought, his right arm dispersed into a torrent of sand. Part of it shot into the air-
And detonated.
This explosion, of course, had nothing to do with the Sand-Sand Fruit.
It was the Bomu Bomu no Mi.
Countless grains of sand exploded simultaneously. The resulting power was catastrophic.
Flashes of fire swallowed everything as the upper structure of the Rain Dinners casino was completely vaporized.
Not a single fragment of rubble remained.
In the next moment, Emiya absorbed the sand and reformed his arm.
The combination of the Suna Suna no Mi and the Bomu Bomu no Mi had pushed his strength to an entirely new level.
This wasn't a simple case of one plus one.
With these abilities, Emiya could already challenge a Warlord of the Sea.
And defeat most of them.
However, Devil Fruits had a very interesting limitation.
Their cost wasn't Psychic energy.
Nor magic.
It was stamina.
Although Emiya's stamina had improved significantly throughout his journey, it was still firmly within the human range.
Using the abilities of two Devil Fruits at the same time placed an enormous burden on his body.
Emiya estimated that if he fought seriously with both abilities active, his stamina would be completely drained in three to five moves.
Leaving him defenseless.
Which was insane.
How was this any different from Megumin in Konosuba?
At best, he could last a few more moves than her.
Emiya even suspected that if he tried to combine the Sand-Sand and Bomu Bomu Fruits to unleash a destructive force on the level of Explosion Magic, a single attack would completely exhaust him.
He shook his head.
It seemed that having more Devil Fruit abilities wasn't necessarily better.
What mattered was suitability.
He created an apple and looked at Loki.
"Your turn. Can you be gentler this time?"
Loki nodded.
She took the apple with one hand and grabbed Emiya's arm with the other.
In the next instant, the familiar tearing sensation returned.
But just as Emiya was about to scream-
Loki suddenly released him.
"Get me another orange."
"What?" Emiya gasped, barely catching his breath.
Loki smiled.
"The two Devil Fruit abilities have already fused with your body. If I extract them, I can only take both at once."
"I can't separate them."
Emiya fell silent.
What was he supposed to say?
He created another orange and handed it over.
This time, Loki extracted both abilities in one go.
She infused them separately-one into the apple, the other into the orange.
The apple was stored away.
The orange was handed back to Emiya.
Then Loki casually used a trace of divine power to heal him.
In an instant, Emiya returned to full condition.
He stared at the orange in his hand.
His expression was conflicted.
In the end, he still ate it.
The Bomu Bomu no Mi returned to him.
After all, this ability was perfectly compatible with his Psychic power.
As for the Suna Suna no Mi-
Emiya didn't recreate a flawless version and eat it.
His stamina simply couldn't handle two powerful Devil Fruits at once.
After that, he asked Loki, "Do you want me to create a Suna Suna no Mi for you?"
Loki shook her head.
Since Emiya could create it at any time, there was no rush.
Her gaze shifted casually toward the entrance of Rain Dinners' VIP room.
"Should I ask you to come out?"
Emiya followed her line of sight.
A tall, black-haired woman slowly walked out.
"I mean no harm," she said calmly.
She had witnessed everything.
From Loki's overwhelming defeat of Crocodile-
To the extraction of Devil Fruit abilities.
There was no way she would willingly provoke a group like this.
"Nico Robin," Emiya said at once.
He wasn't surprised to see her here.
After all, she was Miss All Sunday of Baroque Works.
Robin's face turned pale the moment she realized she had been recognized.
But Loki wasn't looking at her.
Instead, she turned her gaze toward the main entrance.
"You should come out too."
Emiya was startled.
There was someone else?
Footsteps echoed.
A tall man walked in.
Short black hair.
A goatee.
An X-shaped scar stretching across his forehead and eyes.
He wore a light purple kimono with a black-and-purple sash, a purple scarf, white gauntlets, bandages around his arms, and wooden sandals.
In his hand was a cane sword.
The moment Emiya saw him, he knew who it was.
The outfit was unmistakable.
This was the future Marine Admiral.
Issho.
Also known as Fujitora.
Fujitora was the Marine alias.
His real name was Issho.
"My apologies," Issho said, bowing slightly. "I only heard Rain Dinners was a good casino and wanted to test my luck."
"I had no intention of spying on you."
Emiya glanced at Loki.
"This is your doing, isn't it?"
"What are you talking about?" Loki replied with a smile.
That smile confirmed it.
"There are countless casinos in the world," Emiya said. "Yet we just happen to run into Issho here?"
"You can't tell me that has nothing to do with you."
"He usually operates in the New World. He rarely comes to the Grand Line."
Issho shook his head.
"I merely heard Crocodile had opened a casino and grew curious."
"I didn't come here for you."
"And although I don't know how you know my name, I've never met any of you before."
He was confident in his memory.
This was their first meeting.
Emiya chuckled.
He believed Issho.
But he was equally certain that Loki's presence had influenced this encounter.
"You're overthinking it," Loki said lightly. "I didn't interfere."
"Do you think I'll believe that?"
"That's because you don't understand gods," Loki replied calmly.
"I told you before. I want to recruit family members in this world."
"My luck will play a role."
"The powerful people in this world who can be recruited by me will naturally appear before us."
Emiya was speechless.
He had never imagined that luck itself could function this way.
"You gods really are something else," he muttered, shaking his head.
Issho heard their conversation but clearly didn't believe it.
He assumed they were trying to deceive him.
Loki smiled and extended an invitation.
"You heard me, Issho. What do you say?"
"Do you want to become my family?"
Issho's expression turned serious.
"Are you a Celestial Dragon?"
"Hey," Loki said casually. "Even I would get angry hearing that."
"Comparing me to that pile of trash?"
"If this were the old me, I would have burned you to ashes."
A chill ran through Issho's body.
His muscles stiffened.
It felt as if his life could be taken at any moment.
Emiya spoke up calmly.
"Ignorance is bliss, Loki."
She nodded.
"That's true."
"I'll let it slide this time, Issho."
"Listen carefully."
"I am a genuine god."
The pressure vanished.
Issho remained silent for a long moment before shaking his head.
"In my view, there are no gods in this world."
"If gods truly existed, this world wouldn't be filled with so much filth."
Loki burst out laughing.
Issho frowned.
"Is that really so funny?"
"Of course," Loki replied. "Because the good and evil of this world are decided by humans."
"You are the masters of this world."
"Why should the evils committed by humans be blamed on gods?"
Issho hesitated.
"...But God loves the world-"
Loki cut him off.
"That's the greatest lie of all."
"God never said that."
"Humans simply assigned those words to God without permission."
"And in the eyes of many gods, humans are foolish, arrogant creatures."
"Short-lived. Filthy-minded."
"Like worms crawling on the ground."
"A pile of irredeemable trash."
Issho couldn't listen anymore.
"Is that what you think too?"
"Of course not," Loki answered immediately.
"Unlike them, I like humans."
"That's why I descended from Heaven to form my own family."
"Family?"
"A god bestows blessings upon humans."
"Anyone who accepts my blessing becomes my family."
Nico Robin's heart stirred.
For years, she had lived in hiding.
Running.
Fleeing.
Surviving in darkness to escape the World Government.
Now, a woman claiming to be a god spoke of family.
And she possessed the power to crush Crocodile effortlessly.
Whether she was truly a god or not-
She was undeniably strong.
Robin stepped forward without hesitation.
"Lord Goddess," she said softly, "may I join your family?"
