Chapter 33 - "The Blood and Iron Deal"

Inside a skyscraper.

In a private office, Victor sat across from his friend, General Ryan Ashford. They were discussing a deal.

Victor leaned forward.

"I received intel. A number of mutants are still free."

He smiled faintly.

"What do you say to a deal? You hand them over to me… and I'll give you fifty percent of the match profits until the full amount is paid."

Ryan thought for a moment.

"Hmm. That doesn't help me."

His eyes hardened.

"Payment happens at delivery. No delays."

Victor shrugged lightly.

"Alright, brother. Whatever makes you comfortable."

He folded his hands.

"So. What price are we talking about?"

Ryan didn't hesitate.

"Five million dollars. Per head."

Victor's eyebrows lifted.

"Isn't that a bit much?"

He leaned back.

"Let's make it one million per head."

Ryan's voice was flat.

"Three."

Victor smirked.

"Two and a half."

Ryan stared at him for a second.

"Deal."

They both stood. Shook hands.

A sly smile crept across Victor's face.

Ryan left with his entourage.

Victor remained seated at his desk when his secretary entered.

"Sir, you need to leave now if you want to make it to the big match on time."

Victor blinked.

"Oh. Right. I lost track of time."

He stood and adjusted his suit.

"Prepare the car."

He stepped into the elevator with two bodyguards. They looked like machines. Silent. Motionless.

Victor stood between them, watching the numbers count down.

"6… 5… 4…"

Outside, a white limousine waited.

The driver opened the rear door. Victor stepped in. The door shut. The driver rushed to the front seat.

The limo pulled out. Three black SUVs followed behind.

Downtown traffic was heavy. Buses roared. Taxis honked. Engines screamed through crowded streets.

Inside the luxury car, Victor checked the profit charts from his child trafficking network.

The numbers were high. Growing. Multiple international connections boosted his income.

Then he switched to the profit ladder from his human organ trade with vampires.

Lower.

Declining.

Less profitable than his other businesses.

Victor muttered under his breath.

"My profits dropped this month."

His eyes narrowed.

"I need to expand in this sector. I'm locked in with DARKVIL only."

His jaw tightened.

"That means vampire demand controls the supply… and directly affects my revenue."

He exhaled slowly.

"He's controlling my business without me even realizing it."

Victor leaned back, fingers interlocked.

"I could start dealing with doctors. Major surgical companies. Expand my sources. DARKVIL won't even notice."

Silence filled the car.

He turned on the small television mounted behind the front seats.

A news broadcast played.

The reporter spoke clearly:

"This morning, the first shipment of Model 103 robots has arrived following the recent agreement."

The screen showed the U.S. President standing beside the Algerian Secretary of State on a red carpet. They signed documents. Shook hands. Camera flashes exploded around them.

"Six hundred robots were purchased and divided into three shipments. The first shipment—two hundred units—arrived this morning aboard an American commercial vessel."

"The Prime Minister confirmed they will enter service starting tomorrow."

"They will be deployed only in major states due to rising unrest and the increasing difficulty of dealing with mutants hiding among civilians."

"In another statement, the Minister of Defense said the country will witness a major shift in national security once the remaining shipments arrive."

Victor watched silently.

Then his phone rang.

Urgent.

It was his secretary.

"Sir, no one is answering at Malira Prison."

"Probably a network issue," Victor replied calmly.

"But the office phone is ringing!"

He paused.

"Wait an hour or two. Call again. They're probably busy."

"Why were you calling them?" he asked.

"To prepare another batch of prisoners."

Victor frowned slightly.

"Aren't there groups at the chocolate factory?"

"No. We separated the mutants. The prisoners were all gathered at Malira Prison."

Victor paused.

"Oh. I see. Fine. Call again in two hours."

He hung up.

---

The forest.

Diego wandered through thick trees, still wearing his yellow prison uniform. Sunlight cut through the branches. Birds chirped peacefully.

Then he spotted someone sitting on a tree trunk.

Long hair. Gray prison clothes.

Diego whispered,

"Kaz…?"

Kaz jumped up instantly. Defensive stance. His hands ignited with flames.

"Whoa, whoa! Relax! It's just me!"Diego.

Kaz exhaled.

"You… one of the guys who helped free us."

His flames dimmed slightly.

"For a second, I thought you were one of that bastard's men(Victor.)."

Diego shook his head.

"yeah I'm Diego ..... After what you did? They're not stupid enough to chase you."

Kaz chuckled.

"Fair."

He glanced around.

"Where are you headed?"

"I was lost… until I found you. We need to get out of this forest. Fast. When Victor finds out what happened, he'll send special forces. Maybe even the army."

"That motherfer...*" (He looked at his flaming hands.)

Then he lifted his head. "The army?!"

"Yes. He's a businessman. Deep connections. Government ties."Diego

Kaz narrowed his eyes.

"How do you know all that?"

"I gathered information on him before I got captured."Diego

Kaz stared at him intensely.

"Good," he said quietly.

"I need you. To reach him."

His flames grew stronger. His face twisted with raw hatred.

They started walking.

"So you want revenge," Diego said.

Kaz's voice turned cold.

"I'll make him taste every kind of pain before he dies."

Diego stopped walking.

"If you're working with me, calm down. No rushing."

"I'll make a plan. I'll locate him. But you follow my lead. Don't let anger ruin this."

He took a breath.

"I'm the reason that prison collapsed. I built the plan. Coordinated with inmates."

Kaz glanced at him.

"Where's your friend? Did he go alone?"

Diego went silent, remembering Tudor's death.

"He was shot… before we escaped."

Kaz's expression softened slightly.

"Sorry."

They reached a highway.

"Where are we?" Diego asked.

Kaz checked a sign.

"Seven kilometers from the nearest city."

"That's far… we'll have to wait for someone to pick us up."Diego.

Kaz stared at him.

"Are you serious? We're in prison uniforms. No one will stop. They'll call the police."

Diego sighed.

"You're right… walking it is."

Kaz suddenly turned toward the road.

Engine sound.

"I have a better idea."

A yellow old car approached. An elderly man was driving.

Kaz stepped onto the road and blasted fire across it.

"What are you doing?!" Diego shouted.

The old man slammed the brakes. Tires screeched.

Kaz approached him calmly.

"Sorry, old man. We need to borrow your car."

He smashed the man's head against the steering wheel.

"Take a nap."

Diego stared in shock.

"Are you insane?!"

Kaz carried the unconscious man to the back seat and jumped into the driver's seat.

"Get in. Unless you prefer staying here, noble hero."

Diego got in reluctantly.

The car sped off.

A roadside sign passed them:

"Finmar City — 7 km."

---

They entered the city carefully.

Kaz scanned the streets.

"We need new clothes."

"There's a clothing store… but we have no money. We can't walk in like this. We're screwed."Diego.

Kaz smirked.

"Who said we're going to the store?"

He turned into a quiet residential street.

Spacious houses. Gardens. Silence.

Diego's heart pounded.

"Wait. What are you thinking?"

Kaz stepped out of the car, jumped over a short fence into the orchard, and moved behind the house.

Diego stayed frozen in the car.

"First the old man… now this? He's too reckless… We'll never reach Victor like this."

Kaz broke in through a small back window.

Inside, he moved slowly. Flames ready in his palms.

Outside, Diego kept checking the mirrors.

Time passed.

"Why is he taking so long? Please, God… don't let him hurt anyone."

Suddenly, the front door opened.

Kaz walked out calmly.

Black shirt. White monster logo on the chest. Jeans. Black sneakers. A bag in his hand.

"What happened inside?!" Diego asked.

"Empty house. We're lucky." kaz.

He tossed the bag into the back seat.

"Put something on."

Then he carried the old man inside the house.

"I'll put him in bed so he can finish his nap."

Diego quickly changed clothes. Buttoned shirt. Cap. Jeans.

Kaz returned.

He looked him over.

"Your fashion taste sucks."

They drove off.

"Where now?" Diego asked.

"You tell me," Kaz replied lightly.

"How far to the capital?"Diego.

"The capital? Why?"kaz.

"My belongings are there. I was staying in a hotel."Diego.

Kaz blinked.

"You're not from here?"

"No. I'm from Mexico."Diego.

"What brought you here?"kaz.

Diego sighed.

"Curiosity. About mutants. And that curiosity dragged me into this mess."

Kaz laughed.

"And now you're with one.

Everyone fears us and sees us as a threat to humanity because of the media. How come you weren't afraid for yourself?"

"Yeah, after seeing all the hype, I felt something was wrong.

Everyone knows the media exaggerates. Sure, there are bad mutants, but that doesn't mean all of them are.

My curiosity to find out the truth got me here."Deigo.

He stared ahead.

"I attended one of Victor's matches. Saw how he exploited you. A mutant barely able to stand… forced to fight five prisoners to the death."

Kaz laughed darkly.

"You're quite the noble man."

"I found where he kept you. Gathered intel. Hacked the system. Infiltrated. Got out unnoticed."Deigo.

He smirked slightly.

"Except cameras caught me."

Kaz whistled.

"You hack systems like opening doors."

"That's why you follow my plan."Deigo.

Kaz nodded.

"Fine. Just get me to him."

A sign appeared:

"Capital — 2 km."

After a moment of silence, Diego asked,

"How did you become a mutant?"

Kaz stared at the road.

"I don't remember much. I was at a concert. Then panic."

He swallowed.

"An explosion. Far away. But powerful. The shockwave destroyed the stage."

"I was near a speaker. It fell on me."

"Doctors said I was burned."

He looked distant.

"But when I stood up… I was fine."

"Next day, nightmares. Panic attacks. My memory frozen at that moment."

"Like time stopped there."

He clenched his fist.

"I burned the hospital. Couldn't control myself."

"After hiding for months, they caught me. Neighbors reported me."

He laughed bitterly.

"Funny. That was my reward for saving their daughter."

"Later, they transferred me somewhere unknown."

He looked at Diego.

"And I ended up fighting in that fat old man's arena."

Silence.

They entered the capital.

"By the way," Kaz added casually, "I'm not from here either. I'm from Italy."

"I visited Italy once. When I was ten."Deigo.

"Where?"kaz.

"Rome."Deigo.

Kaz laughed.

"Only the capital? You missed the real beauty."

They arrived at the hotel.

"Finally," Diego said.

"Nice place," Kaz nodded.

Diego took the key from the reception, and they went upstairs.

"How long did you book this for?" Kaz asked.

"A month."Deigo.

"That's expensive. You could've rented an apartment."kaz.

"I had just arrived. Didn't know the country."Deigo

They entered the room.

Kaz dropped onto the bed.

"Finally… I need real sleep."

Diego stretched on the couch.

"My ribs are screaming."

---

Basketball arena.

Victor's men prepared for the night's match.

Victor sat in the empty stands, watching.

He whispered to himself:

"Tonight will be historic. First match between mutants."

He chuckled.

"And not just any mutants."

"Soyo Zaki and Samado… fan favorites."

"Against the twin legends. Mick and Mikel."

He sighed lightly.

"I might lose one of them tonight."

He stood and approached his staff.

"Make sure none of them die."

"Add rules?" one man asked.

"No. That makes it boring. The crowd wants blood."

"Then what's the solution?"

"Same as usual. No rules. But stop the match if one collapses or is critically injured. No deaths."

He smiled coldly.

"We give the crowd blood. And we keep our assets alive."

He paused.

"These are stars. Losing one is a long-term loss."

A man rushed toward him.

"Sir! Urgent call!"

Victor grabbed the phone.

"What is it?"

His secretary.

"We tried every way to reach Malira Prison. No response."

Victor's face changed instantly.

"Send four armored vehicles. Now."

He hung up.

His hands began trembling.

"What the hell happened?"

---

Inside the hotel.

Diego was browsing on his laptop. Kaz sat on the couch eating popcorn, flipping channels.

He stopped.

Model 103 robots filled the screen.

Security forces escorted them. Military trucks transported them.

Cameras flashed everywhere.

"They brought something new to kill us," Kaz muttered.

A reporter spoke beside an officer.

"They are being distributed to concerned states and will enter service as soon as possible."

Silence.

Diego closed his laptop.

"Victor is hosting a match tonight."

Kaz jumped up.

"When? Where?"

"I'll buy tickets. First, I'll forge our identities."

He looked serious.

"Listen to me. Don't let revenge ruin this."

"When we enter, I'll livestream everything. Connect it to major social media pages."

He leaned forward.

"We'll show the world the truth. That you're victims of lies."

"We'll change how they see you."

He gestured at the screen showing robots.

"They're building machines and tech just to wipe you out."

Kaz stayed silent.

"We flip the table on them. Then I promise—you get Victor."

"Deal?"

Kaz looked at him.

"Deal."

---

Basketball arena.

The seats were packed. The crowd roared.

Victor sat in a luxurious seat, microphone in hand.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome!"

"Tonight is historic!"

"Legendary!"

"For the first time ever—mutant versus mutant!"

He grinned widely.

"And not just anyone. Titans!"

"Let's not waste time. Bring them out!"

In the crowd, Diego and Kaz sat disguised.

Kaz's eyes locked onto Victor. His hands trembled.

In front of him, Diego discreetly pulled out his phone.

He started a livestream.

---

Elsewhere.

In a mutant village.

Almi sat inside an operations room, using her cybernetic powers to surf the internet.

Her eyes glowed white. Data streamed rapidly across her vision.

Then—

She froze.

She found the livestream.
