"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 224: The Taste of Itsuki

The morning air in the countryside still carried a crisp chill. After exchanging cheerful greetings with their grandfather, the five sisters set out with Draconis Yi, six figures winding their way toward the mountain behind the house.

According to local legend, a small shrine perched atop the back hill, its bell ringing out blessings during festivals and special seasons. On ordinary days, it doubled as the village's running track—a lively spot for early risers.

Climbing gear wasn't needed; just a little energy and a good mood. Yotsuba Nakano shot ahead, her enthusiasm contagious as she led the way up the mossy stone steps.

Nino and Miku stuck close to Draconis Yi, practically glued to his side. After last night, their relationships had crossed into new territory, and neither wanted to let him out of arm's reach. Even Ichika, the eldest, could only watch from the sidelines, a little wistful—her sisters had him surrounded, and she had to play the gracious big sister.

Itsuki, on the other hand, kept things simple. Just being part of the group was enough to make her happy.

The path wound upward, green moss creeping over the stones, tall trees arching overhead. Birds flitted from branch to branch, singing to the morning sun. It wasn't grand or dramatic, but the peaceful charm soaked into every breath.

"Yotsuba, slow down! Don't trip!"

Itsuki called out, always the responsible one.

She'd taken on a motherly role since their mom passed, striving to be as gentle and strong as she remembered her mother to be. Yotsuba, boundless in energy, was usually the object of her concern—her stamina was legendary, leaving the rest trailing behind.

Draconis Yi walked easily beside Miku, who was already breaking a sweat. Among the five, she had the least endurance.

"Tired?"

he asked quietly.

"I'm okay… I can keep going."

Miku whispered, cheeks pink. Whenever Draconis Yi looked at her, memories of last night's passion made her blush and avert her eyes.

"If you get tired, I'll carry you,"

he offered with a gentle smile. Miku nodded, flustered but grateful.

"You really should work on your fitness, you know?"

Nino chimed in, half teasing, half competing for attention.

"I can climb just fine. You're the one clinging to Draconis Yi,"

Miku retorted, puffing her cheeks in mock annoyance—adorable.

"Hehe, this is called mutual support,"

Nino tossed her hair, shooting Draconis Yi a sly look.

"Mutual support, huh? Where I do ninety percent and you do ten?"

Draconis Yi grinned, reaching out to pinch Nino's hip. She squeaked, leaping away and glaring at him, lips mouthing a silent accusation.

Scoundrel…

He read her lips and couldn't help but smile.

Little minx.

The quintuplets, dressed identically for the occasion, were a sight to behold. Elderly villagers out for their morning walk stopped to stare, surprised and delighted—young people were a rare sight in these hills.

After half an hour, they reached the summit.

"Made it! Sunrise, sunrise!"

Yotsuba cheered, pointing at the horizon where a round, red sun hovered just above the mountains—a perfect jewel in the morning sky.

Itsuki couldn't contain her joy. She cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted,

"Yaho~~~"

Her voice echoed across the valley, and she squinted in the sunlight, eyes crinkling with happiness.

Near the shrine, Draconis Yi bought breakfast—steaming buns, fresh and fragrant. He handed them out, then noticed Itsuki making binoculars with her hands, gazing at the distant town below.

She looked too cute to resist.

Draconis Yi crept up behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and held two white buns in front of her eyes.

"Ah…"

Itsuki jumped, startled by the embrace. Her view of the sunrise was suddenly blocked by buns.

She turned, spotting Draconis Yi, and shot him a playful glare—half annoyed, half charmed.

"Meanie… You scared me."

"I bring you food and you still call me mean?"

Draconis Yi teased, arms still around her.

Itsuki's appetite was legendary, but her figure remained perfect—Draconis Yi often wondered where all that food went.

"I'll forgive you if it tastes good."

She giggled, taking a bun and biting in.

"Mmm~ So juicy… So good…"

Meat juice spilled out, glistening on her lips.

"I want to know what it tastes like,"

Draconis Yi said, leaning closer.

"Eh? Then eat it."

Itsuki offered her half-eaten bun.

Draconis Yi shook his head, smiling.

"I'll just taste it."

He kissed her—soft, quick, tasting the flavor on her lips. When he pulled away, he smacked his lips in satisfaction.

"Yep, the bun's delicious."

Itsuki blinked, stunned for a moment, then blushed furiously.

Just like Miku, she was pure and easily flustered—sweetness overloaded her senses, leaving her dizzy.

A few old ladies doing morning exercises nearby caught the scene and burst out laughing, giving Draconis Yi enthusiastic thumbs-ups.

Young love—so cute! The aunties approved.

Itsuki, mortified, glared at Draconis Yi.

Scoundrel! So many people watching…

"Ahem!"

A voice interrupted from behind.

Draconis Yi turned to see Yotsuba, smiling awkwardly.

"Did I come at a bad time?"

"Not at all, you're right on time!"

Itsuki jumped in before Draconis Yi could answer.

He just shrugged—she'd stolen his line.

"Yotsuba, want a kiss too?"

he teased, grinning.

Yotsuba's eyes went wide, and she frantically waved her hands, glancing at the aunties nearby.

"N-no, that's okay, hahaha…"

She grabbed Draconis Yi's arm. "Actually, I need your help with something!"

"Oh? What is it?"

"Come with me."

Yotsuba tugged him toward the little courtyard beside the shrine.

Draconis Yi waved to Itsuki, who watched them go, cheeks still burning.
