Chapter 1 - The PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT

(⌐■_■) {HELLO READERS... I AM YOUR FRIEND AND HOST OF THESE EXCITING NOVEL...}

The garage behind the house was small and cramped.

(⌐■_■) {You can almost smell the dust and oil lingering in the air.}

Old tools hung from the walls. Loose wires twisted across the concrete floor. Extension cords were taped down haphazardly, creating a chaotic web.

(⌐■_■) {Whoever organised this clearly wasn't afraid of danger.}

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

In the center, a strange machine waited. Copper coils, metal rods, and salvaged parts fused into something that seemed almost alive.

(⌐■_■) {It looks innocent enough… until it hums.}

A homemade tesla coil rose from a wooden base.

Beside it, a cardboard sign was taped:Science Fair Project: THE PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT[1]

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

Allen stood near the machine, wearing a white t-shirt. His hands moved deliberately, tightening screws, adjusting wires. Every motion precise, focused.

Across the garage, his friend leaned against the workbench, a can of coke in hand.

The can slipped.

It hit the floor with a dull thud and burst open.[CRASH SPLAT]

Coke spread slowly across the concrete, inching toward an exposed power cable near the tesla coil. Neither of them noticed.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

Allen stepped back.

He suggested starting with low voltage, but his friend moved confidently toward the control panel.

(⌐■_■) {Famous last words…}

Before Allen could react, the switch was flipped.[ZZZZTTT CRACK]

The tesla coil erupted to life. Blue-white arcs danced violently from the copper windings. The machine shuddered, thrumming with energy.[BUZZSSHHHH]

Allen stepped back—right into the spilled coke.

The liquid touched the live wire. A surge of electricity shot through the system. Lights flickered. Sparks exploded from the coil. Smoke curled upward. The wooden base blackened.[SPARK BOOM SSSHHH]

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

Allen stumbled back, heart pounding.

His friend lunged to cut the power. The machine went silent.[CLICK]

The tesla coil stood scarred. One side burned. Copper wires twisted and scorched.

(⌐■_■) {That could have ended much worse.}

They stared at the ruin, anger and frustration hanging thick in the air. Words were exchanged, blame ricocheting back and forth.

Finally, silence.

The experiment was ruined for the night. His friend grabbed his jacket and left. The garage door thudded closed behind him.[THUD DOOR SLAM]

(⌐■_■) {Walk away, my friend. Walk away.}

Allen shut down the remaining power and locked the garage. The smell of burnt metal lingered.

Later that night, Allen lay in bed.

The room was dark and quiet. His mind refused to rest.

(⌐■_■) {Sleep… if only it came easy after tonight.}

Sleep came, and he was riding a dirt bike. The engine hummed as the bike navigated uneven terrain. Wind brushed his face. The motion felt instinctive.[VRRRM VRRRM SWOOSH]

The path dipped. A small jump appeared. The bike lifted.

For a moment, his body felt unbalanced. A sudden muscle twitch—the hypnic jerk—shot through him.

His leg shifted. His shoulder tensed.

Allen's eyes opened.

He was back in bed. The room remained still. The dream evaporated, leaving only the faint memory of the twitch.[2]

He stared at the ceiling. Sleep lingered nearby—but did not return.

[2] (⌐■_■) {Even in sleep, the nervous system remains active. Hypnic jerks occur when the brain misfires signals to muscles during the transition from wakefulness to sleep. These sudden twitches are a normal reflex as the body adjusts to relaxed states.}
