Gripping the sword handle tight with both hands, his leg muscles tensed up as he lunged towards the Pandavar's enforcer, aiming right at the heart.
Just as he was approaching the transformed Awakened, June saw Worf's hand raised up, preparing to slash at him again.
Instead of raising his blade once again to block, he shifted his weight onto one leg with the other foot skating out, and slid sideways in one explosive step, narrowly avoiding the attack.
June quickly regained his balance before jumping out of the way of another one of Worf's attacks. Although Worf is faster than Corsair himself, thanks to his dormant ability, he can predict when and where Worf will attack, making it easier for June to swiftly move out of the way.
'Ah, this is going to be troublesome to get close.'
June thought to himself as he stared at the ground where Worf had slammed his claws into. The force from it was enough to shatter the earth around him; the impact rolled through the ground like a single drumbeat made of stone. Dust exploded upward in a perfect choking halo.
If he even gets hit cleanly one time, then it might be over for him.
Worf let out a guttural and animalistic howl that shook the very earth and heaven itself, before rushing at him headfirst, in an attempt to pierce him with his antlers.
Seeing the incoming juggernaut rushing at him at max speed, June reacted swiftly by moving out of the way, with the grace of a loosened petal, spiralling just out of reach. Letting enforcer crashed into the tree behind him.
The force produced from Worf crashing into the tree was great, enough to cause a small explosion in its place, shattering the tree into pieces.
'That power is ridiculous for an Awakened.'
Even though he knows that Awakened, whose aspect allowed them to transform, tends to pack a stronger punch compared to others — this much wasn't normal. It was as if the enforcer was being augmented by something. However, June wasn't sure of what was augmenting the Awakened.
'He hasn't summoned a memory yet, so it can't be that.'
June sighed as he dismissed the [Sleeping Malice], summoning a pair of dual daggers, [Sable Hearts] in its place instead.
In an instant, he gritted his teeth and threw one of the blades towards the enforcer, with all his might. Seeing the Corsair's sudden, explosive action, Worf ducked his head down, away from the incoming blade.
Turning his head back to the man wearing the demon mask, Worf let out an arrogant scoff, mocking the Corsair. Though his arrogance was short-lived, as he felt a sudden cut appearing on the hide of his cheeks. The dagger that June had thrown has now returned to him.
[Sable Hearts] is a pair of daggers of the Ascended rank, though they are more similar to throwing knives than normal melee blades. This is due to their primary enchantment, [Sable Longing], that causes them to be attracted to each other. When one is separated from the other for a short period of time, the other would return to its other half and the wielder, effectively functioning like a weaponized boomerang.
It's had a greyish appearance, with intricate lines carved into the blade itself. The hilt was no mere handle — it was a vibrant image of a coiled-up dragon, forged from some unknown metal from the Dream Realm past. Stylistically, it was nothing short of an artistic masterpiece, with the potential to make even the most skilled artist jealous.
June always thought that it was quite similar to what his grandfather had told him once in the past, about how people before the Dark Times drew dragons.
Enraged, Worf rushed over to June, trying to slam the Corsair down with both fists. Though he saw this coming and instinctively jumped back, avoiding the man's fist as it crashed into the ground.
With a smirk, June threw another one of his daggers towards the enforcer once again. The dagger narrowly missed its target, but quickly returned, piercing Worf in the back before June dismissed and resummoned the blade in his palm.
Though it seemed like the enforcer transformed state was tougher than he initially thought. [Sable Hearts] couldn't pierce through the man's steel-like hide completely, only leaving a small wound on its back.
Worf let out a shriek of pain and anger that seemingly breached the heavens, before rushing at the Corsair with one hand in the air. Though his attack was quite telegraphed, allowing June to evade each slash, one after the other.
'How predictable.'
June thought to himself. Having fought against and or alongside awakened's with transformation aspect before, June recognizes that this is one of the common weaknesses they possess.
Awakened with this kind of aspect, tends to possess a superiority in strength and speed. It is because of this that they tend to fight by overwhelming their opponent using pure physicality.
However, this habit causes them to usually aimlessly swing their hand and fists around, without any techniques at all. Who needs techniques when overwhelming strength and speed are enough to win most battles?
But when encountering someone who can deal with or matches the physical gap, this weakness is easily exploited.
Side-stepping out of the way of another attack, June countered by piercing Worf's shoulders with one of the daggers. Although it didn't go as deep as he would have wanted, it should be enough to reduce the power of Worf's slashes from now on.
Taking advantage of this moment, Worf kicked the masked man with his hooves, sending Corsair back, slamming into a nearby tree.
June grunted before standing back up on his feet, his hands clutching at his stomach, looking directly at the Pandavar's Enforcer. Letting out a sigh, he looked down to assess the injury.
June had managed to brace himself in time, so the damage wasn't entirely severe.
'It seems like some muscles had been torn from the force of that kick.'
Letting out a troublesome sigh, he picked up the two daggers on the ground, eyes glaring at the enforcer, trying to calculate what his next move should be. Then the speed of the wind started to change, as something strange was happening in front of Corsair's eyes, causing his heart to skip a beat.
'Something is wrong, are my eyes deceiving me?'
In front of him stood 3 'Worf', all approaching him from different directions. Each one of them, now carried a Warhammer in one hand.
