Beginning of Apocalypse
When the Quantum Virus first began to spread across the world, it didn't feel like the end — not yet. There were still heroes, still those who believed they could contain it, cure it, or at the very least, protect what was left of humanity. But as time passed, even hope began to decay.
At Camp Lehigh, where once Steve Rogers was born into legend, the walls now burned with the chaos of another failed defense. Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Scott Lang — or rather, the small floating head that was left of him — sprinted through the crumbling base with one last relic of hope: the Mind Stone.
"Go, go, go!" Peter Parker shouted, webbing across a broken corridor while dodging the feral remains of former soldiers. "Please tell me Wakanda's still holding out!"
T'Challa, limping but unyielding, replied, "It has to be. If there's any place still standing, it's Wakanda. My people will not fall so easily."
Scott's floating head — encased in a glass dome courtesy of the Cloak of Levitation — floated beside them, his usual optimism now tinged with exhaustion. "I don't know, man. I've seen some bad days, but this one's really giving 'half my body gone' a run for its money."
The trio reached the jet bay, where the last working Quinjet awaited them. The undead pounded on the walls, their cries echoing through the hangar like a symphony of hunger. Spider-Man quickly sealed the door with webbing as T'Challa fired up the engines.
"Wakanda, here we come," Peter whispered, clutching the Mind Stone tightly in his webbed palm.
The journey was long and tense. The skies were filled with drifting wrecks — remnants of S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarriers, downed jets, and floating corpses of those who once protected the world. As they neared Wakanda, the golden dome that once symbolized safety shimmered faintly beneath thick smoke.
But when they descended, horror struck them.
Wakanda was burning.
The lush plains had been turned into wastelands, the mighty vibranium walls cracked and crawling with undead. The capital city, Birnin Zana, was under siege. And at the heart of it stood Thanos — his skin grayed and veined, his eyes glowing with the sickly yellow of infection.
The Mad Titan had fallen… but he had not stopped.
On his left hand gleamed a nearly complete Infinity Gauntlet, five Stones already pulsing with power — only the Mind Stone remained.
Scott gasped. "Oh, no-no-no-no. Please tell me this guy didn't get zombified too!"
Peter swallowed hard. "He's… he's still using the Stones even while infected?"
T'Challa's voice turned grim. "Then we stop him here. No matter the cost."
The Quinjet landed amidst chaos — explosions of purple energy and the screams of Wakandan soldiers who had turned against one another. Thanos noticed their arrival immediately. His twisted grin stretched unnaturally.
"More… morsels," he growled, his voice guttural, echoing through the air. "Bring… me… the Mind."
The battle began with a roar.
T'Challa launched forward, slashing with his vibranium claws, while Peter zipped between debris, firing web after web to pull the undead off his allies. Scott unleashed a horde of micro-sized ants enhanced by Pym technology, biting and burrowing into infected flesh. For a moment, it seemed like they could hold him back.
But Thanos was no ordinary zombie. Even corrupted, his strength was godlike. He slammed his fist into the ground, sending a shockwave of Power Stone energy that tore apart buildings and sent all three heroes flying.
Just when it looked like their last stand was over, a thunderous boom rolled across the battlefield.
Lightning.
A rainbow streak cut through the clouds — the Bifrost.
From the beam emerged Thor, Rocket, and Groot, their arrival shaking the very air. Thor, still glowing faintly with lightning, twirled Stormbreaker and hurled it straight into Thanos' chest.
