Chapter 1 - Succeed?

On a sunny day, the weather was refreshing and clear of many clouds. In a wide blossomed field nestled between forested mountains stood a huge and lone tree. Beneath its shade sat a man calmly with his face hidden by the brim of his straw ronin hat. Beside him lay a huge sword firmly planted in the ground.

Someone came and placed his hand on the man's hat. Settling down beside him, he watched the sky. His blue eyes sparkled with reflections of the blue sky. The man wearing the hat smiled.

"The weather is nice today."

The young man next to him, with messy, long dark blue hair, smiled gently.

"Did you succeed, Yakoza?"

The wind blew the answer away.

Clouds gathered slowly in the sky. Rain began to drizzle. The young man became overshadowed by the leaves. Three figures loomed in his eyes. Multiple cold, terrifying voices laced his breath.

"Actually… We once existed."

Leaves of white blossoms surged with the wind, leaving no trace of him behind.

Blinking his eyes open, he found himself sitting on a staircase and leaning against a door in a narrow side street between high buildings. He was wrapped in a massive old and worn white cloak, and wore his straw hat on his head. His massive sword beside him leaned against a container.

Streets were overwhelmed by screams and cries. Panic and fear filled people's voices. The city was under massive destruction. Sounds of explosions drowned out the voices.

Before he could fully gather his senses, a heavy rumble shook the building he leaned against. High up on his right, its walls burst open as a gigantic, endless body of teeth smashed through the upper floors and destroyed the rooms inside. Blocks of cement and shattered glass rained down.

Sighing and rising calmly, Yakoza stepped out from the side street, with his huge sword resting on his shoulder. While the terrified populace fled the devastation, he walked steadily through the panicked crowd, straight toward the chaos.

In the distance, an immense, serpentine beast covered with thousands of teeth and horns, wreaked havoc. Its massive body smashed through buildings and destroyed districts of the city.

At the center of the street stood a cliff of shattered ruins. Yakoza planted his huge sword in the ground. As he walked calmly toward the cliff, the creature continued its rampage, piercing through buildings and streetgrounds with its immense body. Its vast length was woven throughout the city.

As he stood atop the rubble with terrifying majesty, his calm voice was laced with intimidation.

"We both know that you understand me. You've one chance left."

The colossal monster began to withdraw, pulling its massive body back from the ruins it had pierced. Raising his hand, Yakoza spread his fingers wide..

"I'll give you 5 seconds to leave."

As it recoiled and took flight, Yakoza's fingers slowly closed. By the time his hand formed a fist, the beast was still within the city's borders. He sighed with exasperation.

"Here we go again…"

Extending his hand, he brought his middle finger toward his thumb and flicked it. The sheer pressure of the air crushed the adjacent buildings. Caught in the sudden force, the beast violently ruptured. Tons of shredded flesh, burst organs, miles of intestines, and gargantuan bones blew outward. Splintered ribs, spines and shattered teeth tore through the surrounding tenements, embedding deep into the concrete.

As he walked back, a towering tsunami of blood from the massive wave of destruction surged toward him. Mutilated corpses, severed human limbs, spilled entrails and crushed viscera churned violently within the thick red wave.

Yakoza drew his sword from the ground and held it in front of himself. He gritted his teeth.

The tsunami engulfed him. He found himself drowning in a sea of blood. Dark hands and arms coiled around his limbs, tightening their painful grip as sinister voices echoed all around. Struggling while being rendered nearly powerless, he was dragged deeper into the sea toward his memories.

"All is Your Fault! Death is waiting…for your soul…"
