I sat across from three unfamiliar faces. Miran took the chair beside me and placed her portfolio on the table.
The chairperson opened a folder.
"Han Jiwon-ssi, the committee has determined that you knowingly submitted inaccurate information during registration. This constitutes a violation of the competition's disclosure requirements."
My stomach dropped. It sounded like the beginning of a final rejection.
Beside me, Miran moved her hand slightly. Keep listening.
"Our investigation confirms that you registered as a beta while knowing you are an omega," the chairperson continued. "Your reasons do not excuse the inaccurate declaration."
I nodded, uncertain whether I should apologize again. The room smelled faintly of coffee and printer paper. Last time I had entered this wing, I had confessed and then packed my suitcase. I kept waiting for someone to tell me to do it all over again.
