The Spartan warrior stood upon the earth. As the king of Sparta, Leonidas feared neither war nor death. What he believed in was the war god Ares!
And now, an opponent had indeed appeared... that lone figure charging straight toward him!
Like a colossal whale breaching the waves, the overwhelming aura gave him the momentary sensation of beholding the gods themselves.
The weapon in his grasp made Leonidas' heart tremble, for it clearly bore the power of the god he revered, Ares!
"I am Leonidas!" He shouted, raising his spear to clash with the oncoming human.
But the human paid him no heed, rushing right past!
In the next instant, Leonidas felt his body soaring through the air.
No, it wasn't his body flying... it was merely his head!
In the moment the opponent flew past, he had already struck, severing Leonidas' head!
The sheer speed was so extreme that he hadn't even reacted until the world spun wildly, until he glimpsed his own body. Only then did Leonidas realize.
"So I've already died..."
This thought flickered in his mind before swiftly fading.
In his final moment, he saw his body dissipating alongside him. He knew his task this time had been simple... unimaginably so.
He had only just emerged, and now he had to return already?!
And what was with this human? Why was his strength so immense? And why did he possess a dagger steeped so deeply in Ares' essence? When had the god bestowed such a powerful weapon upon a mortal?
It was all a mystery, swirling in his mind, but he would get no answers. He knew that back on the Throne of Heroes, he would suffer greatly, for he lacked the truth... ignorant of what had happened, why the war god Ares would grant such a formidable weapon to a mere human.
Meanwhile, the departing figure accelerated, heading straight for the distant city!
A silhouette stood atop the city walls, gazing down at the masses. He held his head high with unyielding pride, like a defiant lion refusing to yield.
He possessed robust muscles, skin tanned to a dark bronze, and crimson eyes.
He was that exalted one, the founding emperor known as Romulus... the mastermind behind it all!
Gazing at the man, at the aura coalescing around him and the vast horde of soldiers at his back, Morpheus knew this figure intended to bar his path!
Romulus raised his spear high and unleashed a roar: "Everything... everything shall be pierced by my spear! My spear reaches all things!"
Aware of the terrifying speed at which his Servant had fallen, Romulus understood that this opponent was extraordinarily powerful. Thus, he hesitated not at all, unleashing his Noble Phantasm in the very first moment to inflict damage upon the target with its might.
His Noble Phantasm was a rare treasure of the world, an A++-rank armament that could rightly be called the strongest spear without exaggeration.
At this instant, the spear's shaft gleamed with light. It would transform into a colossal tree, becoming the foundation that upheld all!
Such was the Noble Phantasm belonging to Romulus!
Yet likewise, Morpheus, in his charging state, had already prepared.
A golden tome appeared in his left hand. As its pages flipped open, it unleashed tremendous power!
"Zeus is Aether, is Gaia, is Uranus! He is all of this... the one above all!"
The incantation resounded.
The sky filled with dark clouds, obscuring even the halo of light.
Blue lightning descended from the skies, striking directly upon Morpheus mid-flight!
In that moment, Morpheus' body halted, floating in midair. His clothes billowed in the fierce winds, and his hair danced wildly amid the lightning!
His form was now enveloped entirely in blue electric glow!
"I invoke the great Zeus, ruler of gods and men, king of the gods!
"Great Zeus of Mount Olympus, king of thunder and power, king of the gods!
"In the name of the king of gods, roar forth, Spear of Thunder!"
The blue lightning around Morpheus transformed into golden radiance in that instant. His flesh was further reinforced by this surge of golden electricity, and behind him emerged a phantom shadow... immensely majestic, as if embodying all things in the world!
Merely glimpsing this shadow instinctively stirred a desire to worship and submit in everyone present.
At that moment, the divine ancestor, the primordial king, beheld this scene with an expression of utter disbelief.
That silhouette was none other... it was Zeus, the king of the gods!
And now, beneath the phantom, the human raised his right hand. Within it materialized a spear... a lance formed entirely from converging golden lightning!
Then, the spear was hurled!
This was a strike representing the god-king Zeus, a blow from the ruler of Mount Olympus, and an attack belonging to the possessor of all, the great god Zeus!
Even though what Morpheus manifested was merely a miracle recreated through myth, inevitably diminished compared to the legends.
Yet even so, this strike was potent enough to make Zeus himself break into a cold sweat!
"Boom!"
The colossal tree born from the Noble Phantasm's release was obliterated in an instant, unable even to offer the slightest resistance. The ferocious power converged into a single point, smashing directly into the divine ancestor. The immense divine force didn't even allow this mastermind to utter a word before he was reduced to ashes beneath the lightning!
This power was so overwhelming that, despite Morpheus exerting full control to prevent excessive spread, the strike not only slew Romulus but also demolished the city wall behind where he stood!
No one dared obstruct Morpheus now. If his clashes with Caesar and Leonidas had been too swift for the human soldiers to react due to his flight speed, then this strike... imbued with divine majesty... had utterly shattered their resolve.
Even their king had perished; the god they followed was no more. What could they possibly do?!
Most crucially, the one who had slain the king was Zeus!
The god-king!
...
Within the palace, Morpheus regarded the man before him and let out a scoff: "We meet again, Lev."
The one who appeared was indeed Lev, and he seemed remarkably at ease.
"So it's you? I should have realized sooner... your strength is such a threat to the Singularity!" A flash of disgust crossed Lev's eyes; the sight of this Morpheus irritated him immensely.
He had personally intervened, exhausting every method to summon these figures tied to the mythic age, only for them to be so effortlessly defeated by this Morpheus!
Were they all worthless incompetents?!
But no matter... now, by summoning that one, no one could stand against such an existence!
Lev glanced at the summoning circle behind him, a sinister smile curling his lips.
"You're truly impressive, destroying the first Singularity and earning me a scolding from the king. But rest assured, you'll die here soon, for you're about to face the most terrifying being!"
Morpheus eyed Lev and asked, "Trying to buy time yourself?"
"Of course... to stall, even death means nothing. Incidentally, I can tell you a few things. For instance, you believe I'm the one who destroyed Human Order, but that's a misunderstanding. It's not that I seek to destroy it; Human Order is destined for ruin. This is an outcome already inscribed!"
As he spoke, Lev morphed into a grotesque monster... a pillar riddled with eyes.
At this, lightning crackled around Morpheus. He offered a faint smile as another golden lightning spear coalesced in his right hand!
"Boom!"
He hurled it without hesitation. The golden lightning erupted within the chamber, and even Lev's formidable Demon God Pillar form crumbled under the assault. Morpheus watched the disintegrating Lev and scoffed: "Should I hold back a bit, so you don't fail even at stalling?"
"Huff... huff..." The Demon God Pillar began to mend its wounds slowly, but the damage was grievous, recovery agonizingly sluggish.
Seeing this, Morpheus launched another thunder spear, detonating the entire structure once more and reducing the building to rubble.
At last, Lev could withstand no more, reverting to human form.
"You... this power... wait, its connection to Zeus..." Lev realized in horror that this strike seemed no lesser than the legendary Zeus himself... perhaps equal in might!
He glared fiercely at Morpheus, desperate to halt him, yet knowing a direct confrontation was futile now.
Morpheus condensed yet another thunder spear in his right hand, advancing steadily, its tip aimed at Lev's heart.
"Even if I kill you, you'll revive, correct?"
"Of course... you can't kill me for good. I'll never truly die!" Lev proclaimed loudly, as if boasting.
Then, his heart was pierced, though the lightning force remained contained, sparing his life for the moment.
"Go back and tell your king to prepare his final words. I'll be coming for him soon!" Morpheus declared, and the impaling thunder spear erupted instantaneously. The savage lightning force burst from within Lev's body, reducing him to scattered ashes!
Yet at this point, the summoning circle had completed its work. A figure rose from the array, her gaze icy yet infused with a berserk warrior's ferocity. The power emanating from her was immense... and chaotic.
Gazing at the woman now before him, Morpheus uttered her name.
"Attila!"
The great king of the Huns, the Scourge of God... Attila!
Regarding this existence, Morpheus fell silent for a moment, contemplating which approach would be most suitable to engage her.
