Chapter 7 - 7 ying grandpa's gift

"Hey, hey, what's wrong with you? I was just joking, don't be so petty," Ai Tutu said, waving her hand in front of Ye Bing's eyes.

"Huh? I just zoned out. How about I show it to you when I can cast a basic Chaos System spell?" Ye Bing replied, coming back to his senses, to Ai Tutu.

Ai Tutu pouted and said, "That's more like it."

Just then, a 'flat-chested princess' walked up to Ye Bing and said, "Ye Bing, I'm Dongfang Hui, the class monitor of Class One. If there's anything you don't understand, you can come find me. Also, you can often ignore what Ai Tutu says; she just sees something interesting and wants to join in on the fun."

After Dongfang Hui finished speaking, she left the classroom with some forms.

"Hmph, that Dongfang Hui, she's really annoying," Ai Tutu snorted angrily.

Ye Bing asked curiously, "Are your relationships very bad?"

"She's just jealous that I'm bigger than her!" Ai Tutu said, deliberately puffing out her chest.

"Don't listen to Tu Tu, they were junior high classmates, but because of their idol worship, they started to dislike each other," Mu Nujiao exposed Ai Tutu.

"Idol worship?" Ye Bing asked, looking at Ai Tutu in surprise.

"Yes, they both follow different celebrities, and those two celebrities happen to have a bad relationship. Since they are both leaders of their respective fan clubs, they naturally started bickering," Mu Nujiao said helplessly.

"Mu Jie Jie, no, don't say anymore, I stopped following celebrities a long time ago, okay?" Ai Tutu said, blushing and with her gaze drifting.

Ye Bing never expected the reason to be this; he had thought there was some kind of love-hate entanglement. It made sense, though. In Ye Bing's memories, Ai Tutu was the 'silly and sweet' type, with no family burdens, just living happily every day. How could there be such a complicated reason?

Perhaps the teachers had already given a heads-up, because during every break time, students would come to greet Ye Bing. Even the few male students did the same, giving Ye Bing the illusion that he was the class pet.

After school, when he returned home, Ye Bing saw a box on the living room coffee table.

Ye Bing frowned. He didn't remember Uncle Hao bringing such a box when he came to his apartment.

Ye Bing cautiously approached the box on the coffee table and saw a piece of paper tucked underneath it.

Ye Bing picked it up and read, "Little Bing, this box contains a farewell gift from Ying Grandpa. Don't let it fool you, it may look like a broken stone, but this stone is called a mind stone. Ying Grandpa obtained it many years ago, and its quality is quite good. You probably won't find many stones of this quality in China. Just hold it in your hand when you meditate; it can enhance your spiritual power and will greatly improve your Chaos System. The next time Ying Grandpa visits you, I hope you have already advanced to a High-Level Mage."

Ye Bing stood stunned after reading the paper.

mind stone? Ye Bing remembered this stone perfectly. Wasn't this the secret treasure from the treasure hunt competition in the National Mansion Competition many years ago? Ying Grandpa just gave it to him for cultivation like this? This could at least be exchanged for several Star River Veins!

Ye Bing opened the box, and inside lay an ordinary, palm-sized stone. Just by its appearance, it was at most a good-looking stone, but Ye Bing knew that this stone could potentially allow his spiritual power to undergo at least one transformation, or even more.

"Ying Grandpa, thank you. I will work hard to cultivate," Ye Bing said silently in his heart, gripping the mind stone.

Suddenly, a phone ringing broke Ye Bing's thoughts.

The caller ID showed Bai Tingting. After Ye Bing answered the call, Bai Tingting's voice quickly came through the phone.

"Hey, Ye Bing, did you come to school today?" Bai Tingting asked.

"Yes, Uncle Hao took me to Shanghai High School today," Ye Bing replied truthfully.

"Which class did you get into?" Bai Tingting continued to ask.

"Class One, the homeroom teacher is Teacher Ouyang," Ye Bing said.

"Wow, it's that goddess class. How is it? Are there many beautiful girls?" Bai Tingting laughed.

"Not many," Ye Bing said regretfully.

"Why?" Bai Tingting asked, a little surprised.

"Because I think you, Tingting, are more beautiful," Ye Bing said.

Bai Tingting was silent for a while before saying, "You're good, Ye Bing. After a few days, you've learned to be so glib."

"Can't I even speak the truth?" Ye Bing said.

"Pfft, touch your conscience. Is what you're saying the truth?" Bai Tingting spat.

"Oh, right, Tingting, which class are you in? I don't seem to have seen you?" Ye Bing asked.

"Hehe, of course you can't see me. I'm a second-year senior, and I have classes in another teaching building. Come on, call me 'senior sister' and let me hear it," Bai Tingting laughed.

Only then did Ye Bing remember that Bai Tingting had said a few days ago that she had taken five months to successfully cast magic, and it had only been a little over two months since the new students awakened their magic. How could Bai Tingting be a first-year student?

After Ye Bing and Bai Tingting chatted for a while, Bai Tingting finally hung up. But speaking of it, why did Bai Tingting call him?

Ye Bing sat cross-legged on his bed, holding the mind stone, and fell into deep thought again.

Originally, he wanted to create his own cultivation system, compressing his Ice System magic energy within his dantian to form a Golden Core. After the Golden Core was perfected, he would use spiritual power to shatter the core and form an Infant.

But he had transmigrated into the world of Full-Time Mage, where there was more than one type of power. Was he going to compress the Chaos System magic energy into an inner core as well?

To tell others that he was a man with two cores?

His magic Star Dust was so special; as long as the quality was sufficient, any magic could be instantly cast with a thought. Did he still need to risk condensing a Golden Core? Or shattering the core to form an Infant?

After a long, long time of contemplation, Ye Bing finally made up his mind: the Chaos System would be cultivated according to the Mage system, while the Ice System would follow the path he had originally planned. Since he had already cultivated a Golden Core, perhaps he could truly create a brand new cultivation system.

With his mind made up, Ye Bing was finally able to clear his mind of distractions and focus on cultivation.

During the day, Ye Bing attended school, and at night, he meditated and cultivated. This routine continued for a full month, and Ye Bing finally got used to the pace of life in the big city.

On the weekend, Ye Bing suddenly remembered that Ying Laotou had told him to go to the Qingtian Hunter Agency to find Bao Laotou before he left.

Ye Bing vaguely remembered that Bao Laotou seemed to be a retired old divine official, whose cultivation was actually at the Forbidden Curse level. Since Ying Laotou was an old friend of Bao Laotou, his cultivation must not be weak; if not Forbidden Curse, then at least Peak or Saint level.

Then Grandma Mu, Ying Grandpa, and the others, could they all be...?

Ye Bing suddenly realized a blind spot. Since his seven elders were all so powerful, why did they live in the wilderness? And what was the military legion stationed there guarding against? Ye Bing's questions grew more and more numerous.

"Grandpa Song knows Ying Grandpa; perhaps he knows something."

Ye Bing found the address of the Qingtian Hunter Agency online and then left his home.
