Chapter 251 - TDP Chapter 250: Fighting on Two Fronts

A blue barrier flashed across the surface of the spaceship, blocking the laser Kara shot at it.

Kara couldn't destroy the spaceship with just her laser vision.

Kryptonians are a warlike race; they've dealt with countless alien species, and among them, there are certainly races capable of shooting lasers.

The laser beams of some races might even be more powerful than those of Superman and Supergirl.

Since it could deflect those races' beams, it would be strange if Supergirl Kara's heat vision could penetrate the barrier.

But Kara hadn't expected her heat vision to break through the Kryptonian spaceship's defenses anyway.

She was just trying to attract the Kryptonians' attention.

"It's her—!"

"She's here, Kara Zor-El!"

"Now what? Inform the General?"

The Kryptonians on the Kryptonian spaceship, as Kara expected, discovered her.

They looked at Kara, who was flying parallel to them, and for a moment, they couldn't decide what to do.

According to Zod, their primary objective was to find Kara, and their secondary objective was to change Earth's ecosystem.

Originally, they had come to terraform Earth because the Earthlings hadn't brought Kara as agreed.

But now, Kara had appeared right beside them.

"Send out ships to intercept and capture her—!"

The temporary commander inside the spaceship issued the order.

In the absence of Zod and his subordinate Faora, he was the highest-ranking officer inside the ship, with the authority to command other Kryptonians.

Kryptonians are a race that strictly adheres to orders; under the Genesis Engine's programming, they meticulously follow a class-based division of labor.

So, when this commander gave the order, they immediately dispatched the remaining fighter jets from the ship to 'capture' Kara Zor-El outside.

But they didn't know this was precisely Kara's plan.

When the hatch opened, Kara immediately seized the opportunity, instantly darting inside.

She destroyed the fighter jet that hadn't yet taken off with a burst of heat vision, then pulled out a portable breathing stick from somewhere and bit down on it.

She remembered that Kryptonian air was different from Earth's air.

Kara's body had adapted to Earth's environment; if she were to enter the Kryptonian spaceship without any protection, it wouldn't be long before the air inside would weaken her.

Therefore, Kara had taken an oxygen stick from Batman.

Although Kara could also hold her breath with her powerful lung capacity to avoid breathing the air inside the Kryptonian spaceship.

But just in case, Kara was still very cautious and prepared backup protection.

It was best if the backup measures weren't needed, but if anything unexpected happened, she would have insurance to ensure Kara could escape from the spaceship.

Bursting into the warship, Kara swiftly took down everyone on board as if she were in an uninhabited area.

She chose not to destroy the spaceship.

Because Kara needed this spaceship to help her leave Earth and search for her cousin, Clark, who had fallen somewhere unknown.

The soldiers who could follow Zod were the most elite soldiers on Krypton; if they were facing Earthlings, each of them could single-handedly defeat thousands, wreaking havoc among human armies.

Unfortunately, they were now facing Kara.

Unlike the Clark of the parallel world, in another universe, the Kryptonian Life Codex was inside him, with every cell in his body storing the genetic information from the Life Codex.

That's why he was so powerful, even more powerful than Zod.

Even if he didn't know any combat techniques, he could still kill Zod.

But in this world, Clark's body actually didn't contain the Life Codex.

This was personally confirmed by Flashpoint Zod.

He mentioned in the movie that the Life Codex of this world was actually on Kara.

On the surface, it seemed like Kara was supposed to protect Clark, but in reality, Kara was the one who needed to be protected.

And because of this, the current Kara was stronger than all the Kryptonians present.

When the power gap reaches a certain point, any combat technique loses its original effectiveness.

Although there were many people on the Kryptonian spaceship, facing Kara, who had entered a berserk state, none of them were a match for her.

In the short ten-odd seconds from Kara entering the spaceship until now, almost all the combat personnel inside the ship had been dealt with by Kara alone.

She didn't hold back.

Although she had considered sparing their lives and deciding what to do with them later, once the actual fighting began, Kara realized that it was almost impossible for her to incapacitate everyone while holding back.

To quickly resolve the battle, she had to go all out, and once she went all out, very few of the Kryptonians here would survive.

And so, by the end of the battle, the only person left alive inside the entire Kryptonian spaceship was Kara.

"..."

Looking at the bodies strewn across the floor, Kara fell silent for a moment.

But she quickly composed herself, took the key from the commander's body, and a spare Kryptonian breathing device.

After putting on the breathing device, Kara inserted the key into the Kryptonian spaceship.

"Shut down the Genesis Engine!"

After entering the key, Kara commanded the spaceship's AI.

But the AI replied:

"Sorry, you do not have permission to shut it down."

"Who has the permission?!"

"The permission to activate is with the General, the subordinate, and the temporary commander. The permission to shut down is only held by the General. Your authority is insufficient."

The AI's cold words delivered an answer that Kara found difficult to accept.

Since only Zod had the permission to shut it down, then if Kara wanted to shut down the Genesis Engine, she only had two paths before her.

First, go back to Zod, defeat him, and use his authority to shut down the Genesis Engine.

Second...

Destroy the spaceship.

The former lacked time, and the latter... meant Kara would personally destroy her hope of leaving Earth.

"Damn it!"

She slammed the control panel, almost smashing it.

Kara hung her head, her hair obscuring her face, as she entered her final struggle.

The spaceship was gradually approaching Metropolis, and Kara had to make a decision in a very short amount of time.

And seeing the city already close, Kara gritted her teeth and made her choice.

She looked at the internal facilities of the spaceship, opened the air-filtering mask, and her eyes accumulated heat vision, preparing to completely destroy the Kryptonian spaceship.

Just then, however, a voice suddenly came through the communication channel:

"Kara Zor-El, stop!!"

Inside the spaceship, Zod's voice echoed.

The heat vision accumulated in Kara's eyes slowly dissipated, and she looked up in the direction the spaceship had come from.

A Kryptonian combat spaceship was rapidly approaching, and within it, Zod, who appeared to be injured, was particularly conspicuous.

Zod had actually left the battlefield and returned.

...

Kevin had already noticed Zod leaving the battlefield.

Before Kevin created the Mist, Zod had already been taken away by someone.

But at that time, Kevin couldn't catch up because he was held back by Faora.

It was during this period that the Kryptonian fighter jet, which had not entered combat, skillfully passed through the defenses set up by Karathen and returned directly towards the Kryptonian spaceship.

But thankfully, Batman, who was also in the air, noticed the Kryptonian spaceship leaving.

He adjusted his plane, preparing to pursue it.

"I'll go after it, you continue to stop the Kryptonians."

Batman's voice came through Kevin's hidden earpiece.

He didn't stop Batman's suicidal behavior; instead, after a brief thought, he said to Batman:

"The surface of the Kryptonian spaceship is almost entirely covered by protective devices. Human weapons, including yours, will have no effect on it. So when you follow it, don't attack. Just follow from a distance and see where Zod is going."

"Understood."

Because he didn't know as much about Kryptonians as Kevin and Kara, Batman chose to temporarily obey Kevin's orders.

Only after confirming that Batman had gone after it did Kevin control the Mist to continue spreading outwards.

The Mist created by Kevin was not just Mist; it also contained extremely cold solid ice.

This was created to interfere with Faora's senses.

After all, he couldn't be sure if Faora's mask had a thermal imaging device.

The Mist obscured Faora's vision, while the tiny ice crystals hidden within the Mist interfered with any potential thermal imaging device on Faora.

Kevin's body was hidden in the Mist, rapidly approaching Faora.

The thick Mist enveloped both of them, obscuring Faora's perception, while Kevin took the opportunity to pull out his trident and quietly approach Faora.

He knew that solving an enemy in this way might be a bit underhanded.

However, on the battlefield, there is no villainy or justice; there is only killing and being killed. As long as it can eliminate the enemy, any method is a good method!

Kevin believed that Faora thought the same way, and she was probably prepared for it too.

Indeed, Faora was constantly paying attention to her surroundings.

If her eyes couldn't see her surroundings, then she would use her ears.

If sight couldn't be a way to detect targets, then she would use her hearing.

Faora concentrated, listening to everything around her, and suddenly, her arm moved, swinging behind her.

Her arm blade pierced through the thick Mist, colliding with the metal wrapped in the Mist.

The golden trident was exposed in the thick Mist!

"Earthling, you're still a bit lacking if you want to ambush me."

Faora, who had blocked Kevin's sneak attack, smiled.

But when the full extent of the trident was revealed, the smile on Faora's face instantly vanished.

The object that appeared before Faora and was blocked by her was indeed the trident.

But the crucial issue was that the trident's owner, Kevin, was not here!

Only the trident was here!

When Faora realized that only the trident was attacking her, she immediately felt a sense of unease.

But by the time she reacted, it seemed it was too late.

Kevin and the trident were actually acting at the same time; the moment Faora blocked the trident, Kevin had already silently crept up behind Faora.

By the time the opponent realized something was wrong, Kevin's large hand was already pressed against her head!

Bang!!

Grabbing the side of her head as she had just turned, Kevin forcefully slammed her towards the ground.

He had no intention of being gentle, even if the opponent was a woman; Kevin would never show mercy, launching a fatal killing blow from the start!

If Faora's head hadn't been protected by her armor, then she would certainly have suffered a shattered skull at that moment.

However, even so, cracks appeared on Faora's armor.

It was this tiny crack that sealed her fate.

"Farewell, Kryptonian."

The moment her head armor shattered, Kevin sensed the blood flowing within it.

He 'politely' bid farewell to the opponent, then decisively manipulated the blood in the opponent's brain.

In an instant, this female subordinate, who had just been full of life, turned into a corpse lying on the ground.

Her brain was scrambled by Kevin, and she completely lost all signs of life.
