Chapter 247 - TDP Chapter 246 Super Girl

The future Barry failed to regain his Speed Force.

Kevin didn't know why; he had followed the method in the movie strictly, with no changes except for the subject of the operation!

Yet, this Barry somehow failed to regain his Speed Force and was now on the verge of death.

In fact, if Kevin hadn't forcibly stimulated his heart's blood circulation to keep him alive, he might have already died!

Moreover, because Barry failed to obtain the Speed Force, Kevin also gained corresponding skill points, which made Kevin completely believe that this future Barry's fate had been completely changed by him!

Although the number of points wasn't many, only seven or eight, this matter was very serious.

Regardless of the reason, the future Barry had now completely lost his abilities.

After much effort, Barry was rescued, bandaged, and placed on the bed. Batman, who had returned, looked at Kevin for a long time and then suddenly asked:

"Did he ask you to do this?"

"It was my suggestion to him, and he agreed, because to make everything return to normal, to return to his own world, he had to get his abilities back."

Kevin said in a deep voice.

Batman shook his head:

"That's too irrational. We could have come up with a better solution."

"But... this is clearly the way to make him regain his Speed Force..."

Before Kevin could finish his sentence, Dark Barry couldn't help but shout at him:

"You haven't even tested it! Why would you make him do that!"

"How haven't I tested it? You succeeded, and he succeeded before. Normally, it shouldn't have failed!"

Kevin was a bit annoyed. That's how it played out in the movie. He followed the steps from the movie exactly, and besides Supergirl not being the one holding Barry, there were no flaws elsewhere.

Who knew something would go wrong!

"But it failed now! You harmed him! Damn it... Brother, please don't die..."

Dark Barry yelled at Kevin in despair, then turned to look at the future Barry, who was wrapped in bandages.

Dark Barry's crying made Kevin feel even worse. He couldn't help but say:

"If you hadn't been afraid and failed to go to the crucial place at the crucial moment, he wouldn't have lost his Speed Force! Now you're blaming me?"

Ultimately, the future Barry lost his Speed Force because this guy in front of him was disobedient and stubbornly refused to sit in the position he should have been in.

This forced the future Barry to forcibly hold him down and endure the lightning strike, resulting in both of them being electrocuted, and that's how the future Barry lost his abilities.

Although this world had been changed quite a bit by Kevin, because he hadn't interfered with the Flash's affairs before, the events between the two Flashes were still following the original plot.

What Kevin was saying now was indeed what the Flashes had experienced earlier.

And hearing Kevin's words, Dark Barry also froze. He stopped speaking, his eyes full of self-reproach.

Because he knew that Kevin was telling the truth.

"Kevin."

Batman, unable to watch any longer, called out to Kevin.

Kevin also calmed down, took a deep breath, and said:

"...Sorry, it's my fault."

His tone softened a bit, and he calmed down, knowing that he shouldn't lose his temper with a child who was only eighteen. He said apologetically:

"I was too presumptuous and made the mistake of relying on experience... This matter is my responsibility."

Over-reliance on the original plot would lead to situations like this.

Kevin thought that everything in this world was predetermined by fate, that Flash was Flash, and even if accidents happened in between, the outcome wouldn't change.

But in reality... from the day he arrived in this world, he had already become a part of this world's destiny.

His existence was equivalent to bringing change to this world.

If Kevin only wanted to change things, it would be fine; he could do whatever he wanted.

But if he wanted to follow the original path, he would encounter trouble and difficulties, just like now.

It was meaningless to talk about whose responsibility it was now.

The future Barry couldn't regain his abilities, so he was temporarily trapped in this universe. Even if Kevin solved Zod's problem, Barry couldn't go back.

So Kevin needed to find a way for Barry to regain his superpowers.

At least... Kevin's mistakes had to be rectified by himself.

However, Kevin planned to deal with this after solving Zod's problem. The most important thing now was still Zod.

Remembering this, Kevin averted his gaze from the 'mummy' on the bed and looked at Batman in his battle suit, sizing him up.

When he noticed the bloodstains on Batman, he asked:

"Are you injured?"

"We ran into a bit of trouble, but at least we rescued the 'Superman' you mentioned... But, the Superman you mentioned shouldn't be a girl, right?"

"Different universes mean different Kryptonians landing on Earth. The Superman of this world never reached Earth; only Kara Zor-El came here."

"You already knew that the person held in Russia wasn't the Superman you were looking for."

"Yes, so did you bring Kara Zor-El back?"

Kevin asked Batman.

Batman looked at Arthur, who glanced at him, then replied to Kevin:

"I put her on the narrow bed in the living room."

"That's a sofa..."

Batman explained.

"Well, it looks like you brought her back. Let's go see her first. After we've seen her, then we can talk about how to deal with General Zod."

Barry's problem could be discussed later. Since Supergirl Kara had been rescued, all that remained was to fight the Kryptonians.

For this, Kevin decided to meet Supergirl first.

...

Supergirl Kara was placed on the sofa in the reception room by Arthur, covered with a blanket.

According to Batman's description, when they entered the military base where Supergirl was held, they were discovered by the guards there and engaged in a battle.

Dark Barry was the first to be taken out. With little combat experience, he was nearly killed by enemy bullets.

If Arthur hadn't been there, Dark Barry might truly not have made it back.

Batman also suffered serious injuries, and with Arthur's help, he broke through layers of obstacles to find where Supergirl was imprisoned.

But when he opened the tightly sealed prison door, Batman discovered that a girl was being held inside.

Because the future Barry had said 'Superman' and not 'Superwoman,' Batman understood that the girl imprisoned here might not be the person they were looking for.

However, Batman ultimately decided to rescue her first.

After all, Kevin had also approved of them coming here to rescue someone, which proved that he might know the situation here.

And the final outcome was similar to the movie's plot: when everyone ran to the surface and was being chased.

Supergirl, having been exposed to sunlight, unleashed her powers, killing all the pursuers. She then fainted due to prolonged malnutrition and was brought back to Wayne Manor by Batman and his group.

There were no issues with this part of the plot; it remained largely unchanged.

Kevin pondered for a moment, thinking this might be because he hadn't participated.

Plots without Kevin's involvement would follow their original course.

But once Kevin got involved, no matter what he tried to do, the plot would change.

It seemed that Kevin's previous speculation about destiny wasn't very reliable, at least with Kevin present, destiny was no longer unchangeable.

"So I should also be able to kill Zod..."

Kevin mused.

Originally, he thought the world's destruction was predetermined, but since Flash wasn't 'destined' to recover his abilities, perhaps Kevin could also kill Zod and the other Kryptonians.

As Kevin thought about how to kill Zod, he soon noticed the blanket on Kara stir.

He instantly snapped out of his thoughts and looked up, seeing Kara slowly open her eyes. Then, upon seeing Kevin sitting opposite her, she immediately got up and retreated, shrinking into the sofa, staring warily at the stranger in front of her.

"Who are you?!"

Kara remembered who had rescued her, but she couldn't match the face of this person with those who had saved her.

Kevin smiled, trying to appear friendly, and explained to Kara:

"You can call me Kevin."

"Kevin...? You are... Kevin?"

"?"

Hearing Kara say this, Kevin was instead stunned: "You know me?"

"No, I don't, but... the people who rescued me earlier said something like, 'She's the person Kevin is looking for' when they brought me out..."

Oh, so she learned my name from Batman and the others' conversation. You scared me, I thought my reputation had reached Krypton.

Kevin muttered to himself, his expression unchanged. He nodded and said:

"Yes, I sent them to rescue you."

"Why did you rescue me?"

"Because I need a Kryptonian to help me stop Zod, Kara Zor-El, we need you."

Kevin spoke the words that the person responsible for recruiting members often says when forming a hero team.

The more people, the more strength. Kevin couldn't guarantee that he could defeat Zod, and Zod also had so many Kryptonians with him.

Just Kevin, Arthur, Mera, and Batman, plus the Dark Barry of this world, who had only become Flash less than three days ago.

Their chances of completely defeating Zod were not high.

Even if they could defeat Zod, no one could destroy the Genesis Engine located at the two ends of the Earth.

At least Kevin could only destroy one Genesis Engine, not the other.

His speed could reach Mach nine underwater, but he couldn't compare to Superman and couldn't run from one end of the Earth to the other in fifteen minutes.

Kevin couldn't do it, so it could only be Barry or Supergirl.

Now the future Barry was lying in bed like a corpse, and it was unknown when he would wake up, and the Dark Barry of this world was a novice.

Kevin could only rely on Supergirl.

"Zod...? Zod is here? Wait a minute, how do you know my name?"

Supergirl was first startled by the news of Zod's arrival, then remembered that Kevin had just said her name.

And if she remembered correctly, she hadn't introduced herself just now.

"Because I know you, though you might not know me."

Kevin organized his words and fabricated another lie:

"I and... another person are 'travelers' from other universes. In our world, you and your cousin Kal-El are heroes on Earth, which is why I knew about you and thought of rescuing you."

"Kal... How is Kal? Is he okay?"

At the mention of Superman, Kara immediately became agitated. She tried to get up from the sofa but almost fell off.

Kevin immediately got up and helped her, making her lie back down on the sofa, then said to Kara:

"I don't know the fate of Kal in this world, but I know the fate of another Kal. His spaceship landed on a farm, where he was adopted by the farmers, grew up well, and became a Superhero admired by everyone in that world.

"By the way, those who are familiar with him like to call him Clark. That's his name on Earth."

"Clark..."

Seemingly relieved by the news of Superman, Kara relaxed considerably. She murmured the name, her eyes somewhat distant, as if lost in some fantasy.
