It's been a couple days since we saved Lora… And Shen is staying at our home; despite living in a gigantic manor— it's been feeling cramped.
Whenever I wake up in the morning, I see Shen rolled over to face the opposite of me… She stole my extra pair of pajamas every night and she constantly mumbles. And frankly it's annoying… and weird to hear what she says… In fact– outright embarrassing!
It's something about my dad… Or someone named Noa… The latter of which is her arguing. Annoying…
Normally I wouldn't complain this much, today I just feel extra sluggish and grumpy. I shook my head and picked out my clothes for the day.
Can't she have her own…? I'm nearly a foot taller than her, so my clothes look extra large on her… It's to the point even my pajamas buttoned up is nearly showing her entire chest! Isn't that just bad to wear?
I glanced back at her, she seemed so peaceful sleeping there. I had the urge to rip open the curtains and wake her up; yet I couldn't… the sun would've set her on fire.
Ugh… I'll have to get used to it… I cleared my head and prepared to leave the room. But, I heard the blankets shuffling and the talking ceased.
Great, she's awake…. Somehow…
"Good morning…" Shen yawned and turned towards me. Like usual… her bare chest almost nearly exposed. I didn't feel my face warm up, but I had… this tight feeling in my stomach. "What's with that face…? Did I do something?"
"Can't you wear your own pajamas?" I asked her, I could barely hold in my irritation.
"Hm? I didn't bring any of my clothes…"
"..."
Shen squinted at me before saying something that made that tightness in my stomach grow.
"Listen, just because you're jealous doesn't mean I did something wrong."
"I am not jealous! Why would I be jealous of those?!"
Shen shrugged and kept going on— I could feel my hands grip the more that left her damn mouth.
"As a girl, you'll learn to not get jealous of others' sizes… Well you would make other girls jealous and your future husband happy. And the fact puberty does hit the girls in your family hard."
This— Ugh!
"First of all I am not jealous of THOSE! They look rather too big and painful! And I am not interested in men! I was a guy before! Frankly, they're disgusting in this life!"
Yet again, and again Shen shrugged her damn shoulders— Hell it looked like she didn't believe me— well of course she didn't damn do it…
No one believes me in this damn life… I might be a girl on the outside but I am still that same Mathew.
"You know staring won't get you anywhere, right?" Shen broke my thoughts as she stood in front of me with crossed arms. "You clearly are lying through your teeth, you know that right?"
What is she talking about…? I am not lying!I'm not interested in guys— nor am I jealous…
Randomly she started smiling.
"I'll leave so you can get dressed, don't gander at yourself too much."
"...Get out."
"Okay~"
When she shut the door quietly I changed into my usual shorts, tights and dress shirt. I avoided looking at my mirror and left the room.
Shen stood outside the door with her arms crossed— this time in her hoodie and shorts… She- she changed out here? Isn't that embarrassing-?
We didn't say anything and went to the dining room.
"Yukina, wanna come shopping with me today?" Shen asked me. Everyone else at the table looked at us with confused looks.
"Hm? Where are you going to go?" Allisa popped up literally. "Can I go?"
Shen shook her head and replied. "No."
"Aw…"
Way to kill the little girl's motivation, Shen. Definitely something she'd do though.
"It's only a place for us animalkin, that's it."
"Uh… Miss Shen, most shops welcome all races…" Lora intervened.
"This place is a little different, only we can go inside…Also, surprised you actually talk."
I felt everyone's stares on us, each of them had a confused look. I have no idea what Shen is talking about… Even with my hearing I never heard about a place for animalkins-
"Oh, are you talking about that place?" James asked whilst taking a sip of his cup.
"You know it?" Shen questioned. What is it?
"Melinda's parents used to own it."
My curiosity was starting to tickle my head as they kept talking about it. Somehow they communicated without saying what it was… Seriously! What is it?
Even Melinda started to join in on it. Then… ugh…
I just decided to shake my head and focus on my food. Surprised there are pancakes in this world… I had to be careful with the sugar in the syrup. My body's trying to throw it back up but I liked the flavor.
Unlike the ones back on earth… this has a less sweet flavor but it was rich. I still don't understand why my body wants it out… Am I allergic to it?
The only allergy I know I had was chocolate…
When I was focused on my food, I felt someone poke my cheek and grab my attention. And it.
"Yukina is something wrong with your food?"
"N-No…"
"You look like you're ready to throw up."
Because I am… It felt like there was a rock in my stomach even though I barely ate half my food.
"I'm… full…" I said whilst pushing my dish away.
They all apparently took my word, and they finished their food… After we cleaned up and Shen fixed her appearance we set out on the little journey.
Half way, Shen started to talk pretty fast.
She mentioned an animalkin cafe, which we were going to.
"Animalkin cafe?" I asked her whilst tilting my head. "I thought the races weren't looking down on each other."
"They aren't… but people like animalkins specifically. Reason being…" Shen brought her hands up to her ears. "Our ears, the ones with really fluffy ones."
Sure seemed like it in untergrant. I rolled my eyes at her words.
"Believe me they do, I'm sure your adopted family likes your ears."
They do…Way too much if you ask me.
"That face says it all! And believe me Yukina, the drinks there are good too!"
Does she have ADHD… That energy she has is abnormal for someone who's five hundred years old… I could see the excitement on her body.
Her ears were drooped and her tail was wagging pretty fast. There was a huge smile on her face, even I could see the elongated teeth poking through.
"I know they're hiring too! One of the waitresses quit not too long ago…" As she said this she brought her fingers to her chin. Her eyes swiveled to me, and a bigger smile was brought to her mouth. "You look cute enough to be a waitress… Why don't you apply there."
"First of all, no." I brought my fingers up and felt my blood pressure immediately spike. "Second of all I like being an adventurer… Third…"
Before I could say anything, a loud screechy voice interrupted us—
"Shen! Why are you here?!"
