Blake was falling, or perhaps floating.
It was difficult to tell.
There was no wind against his skin, no sensation of gravity pulling him downward. His body simply drifted through an endless darkness, slowly descending as though the darkness itself were carrying him.
He couldn't see anything or hear anything.
But he wasn't afraid, really. If anything, he felt bored, as if missing something.
Eventually, his body softy landed on a smooth surface.
He was simply continuing to look at nothing, laying down with no thought.
Then, he felt a gurgle, which made him look down.
A beautiful red color was sprouting from his body.
It spread outward in delicate, almost organic shapes, bright against the surrounding darkness.
Blake stared.
He couldn't tell where it was coming from.
There was no wound ot pain.
Nothing that should have caused it.
He simply watched.
Then, tired, he closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, someone was standing in front of him.
