Chapter 294 - New House

Chapter 294:

The commotion of moving wasn't too loud nor too quiet, but there was still some noise.

Gardevoir quickly packed up everything in its room.

There actually wasn't much.

After all, it didn't have things like clothes. The room only had a desk and a wardrobe and the wardrobe was stuffed full of plush toys.

These toys weren't all left by Hayashi Kaede; some were given by Jirachi to all the Pokémon in the plantation.

His room couldn't hold so many toys, so they could only be stored in its room.

Meanwhile, Hayashi Kaede also gathered most of his clothes in his room.

Looking at it this way, he didn't own much either.

Apart from some clothing and toiletries, there really was very little.

After packing all these into storage capsules, he walked along the bluestone path towards the new house.

Gardevoir followed shortly after via teleportation.

Accompanied by the forest and the river, a large villa faced with tiles appeared before Hayashi Kaede's eyes.

There was also a snow-white Alolan Ninetales, with several Eevees, lying on the grass across the river, quietly watching Uncle Yoshi fish.

The big fish he caught went into the bucket; the small ones... went straight into Alolan Ninetales' mouth?

"Huh?"

Hayashi Kaede was momentarily stunned.

Then his expression turned strange.

No wonder these past few days, Alolan Ninetales and the Eevees would bring back a few fish every day, more or less.

At first, Hayashi Kaede thought it was Alolan Ninetales taking the trouble to catch them from the river every day.

Because Alolan Ninetales is an Ice-type, he didn't pay it much mind.

He just warned them not to let the Eevees enter the water too.

Turns out...

They never entered the water at all, but just waited on the bank.

Thinking this, he called over, "Hey, Ninetales!"

"Ninetales?"

Alolan Ninetales looked up, saw it was Hayashi Kaede and Gardevoir, and greeted them happily. It then blew a layer of ice over the water surface, bringing the Eevees across while remembering to melt the ice afterwards.

"The fish you've been bringing back these days... were they all caught by Uncle Yoshi?"

"Ninetales~" (Yes, yes~ He's a good person!)

Alolan Ninetales nodded, then raised its front paws and enthusiastically tried to burrow into Hayashi Kaede's arms.

Its white, fluffy fur felt as smooth as the finest silk.

Looking at the Alolan Ninetales rubbing against him, Hayashi Kaede was caught between laughter and tears. "You've been taking fish for days now, don't you feel a bit embarrassed? Those are fish he caught."

"Ninetales?" (Why should I feel embarrassed?)

Alolan Ninetales looked up at Hayashi Kaede, blinking its crystal-like eyes.

"Ninetales...." (Uncle Yoshi said he doesn't want these fish. Even if he didn't give them to us, he'd release them back anyway.)

Hayashi Kaede patted its head. "That might be true."

"But he can offer, you shouldn't ask him for it. Also, you should give a gift in return. Reciprocating is what makes people like you."

"Ninetales?" (Then what should I give?)

Alolan Ninetales looked somewhat blankly at Hayashi Kaede.

It didn't have anything?

Or should it go pick berries from the plantation?

"It's okay, you're my Pokémon. I'll help you prepare the gift."

"Ninetales~" (Mhm mhm.)

Alolan Ninetales smiled again.

"Alright, alright."

Hayashi Kaede put it down and gave its head another pat.

Then he looked towards Uncle Yoshi across the way, who also waved and greeted him.

'Uncle Yoshi likes fishing. What's most precious to a fishing enthusiast?'

'Gear! And bait that catches fish!'

Buying a good set of gear is fine. For the fishing bait, need to put some thought into it.

Can't be too good, nor too bad.

If it's too good, getting a fish every minute ruins the fishing experience, right?

That's decided then.

"Eevee, Eevee?"

At that moment, Little Nine, who had been left behind, spoke up.

"Eevee?" (Why did you come here?)

Usually, Hayashi Kaede rarely came to this side.

Except occasionally when Dragonite and Blaziken were practicing fighting techniques.

But right now, Blaziken and Dragonite clearly weren't here.

Hayashi Kaede explained: "Moving house. Planning to move some stuff over today, see what furniture we might lack later. We'll go take a look first, then bring you all along later to see each room."

"Eevee?" (Moving!?)

Alolan Ninetales's eyes lit up, and it couldn't help but look towards the large villa.

The house was finished now, no more sounds of hammering.

Only a faint, pleasant fragrance wafted from inside.

That was the scent from the Aromatisse.

Alolan Ninetales said excitedly, "Ninetales!" (I want to see too!)

"Then let's all go together~"

So, the group originally consisting only of Hayashi Kaede and Gardevoir going to see the new house, now including Alolan Ninetales and the Eevees,

became quite a procession.

Arriving in front of the house, the exterior had beige tiles, and there was a very large yard surrounding the house.

This yard encircled the house.

The back faced the new plantation, while the front was paved with cement.

After all, on rainy days, they couldn't always be cleaning the front of the house.

However, around the house, there was a dedicated trench left for planting flowers, grass, or even vegetables.

Hayashi Kaede planned to fill it with soil and sprinkle some Fertilizer during this winter.

That way, next year, they could plant vegetables.

Entering the yard, the first thing that caught the eye was the main door, which led to the central hall.

Leading the Pokémon inside, a Pokémon whose body was mainly pink, with head feathers primarily purple, appeared before everyone.

This was an Aromatisse releasing its scent.

"Hello there."

"Aromatisse?"

After greeting the Aromatisse, Hayashi Kaede didn't pay it much more attention.

He passed through the central hall and entered the living room.

The living room was very large. Apart from two other Aromatisse also releasing their scents, there was also the leader of the construction team.

The leader greeted him: "Hey, kid! So, anything you're not satisfied with?"

Hayashi Kaede glanced around. Past the living room, there was a turn leading directly to the new plantation. A similarly three-meter-high door was installed at that corner.

On the side facing the main door, several large alloy windows were installed, allowing the warm sunlight to spill onto the floor.

At the turning point, there was a curved staircase with rosewood handrails leading to the second floor.

Looking up diagonally, between the second and third floors, there was a huge skylight, showing the color of the sky.

And there were no houses opposite the villa area. In summer, gentle breezes would blow in from the forest.

This was truly a place that was warm in winter and cool in summer!

Hayashi Kaede couldn't help but nod. "It's great..."
